He Loves Me, He Loves Me Hot (Immortally Sexy, #3)

I normally wouldn't read the third book in a series without reading the first two, but it appears I picked this up at a library used book sale without realizing it was part of a series. Even though I felt a slight bit lost at first, I quickly got into the briskly-paced, humorous paranormal romance. It had a dragon, a Rivka (female servants of Satan who collect the souls of evil people who deserve it and take them to hell), a half-Markku (a warrior race that once worked for hell, but then rebelled) half-healer, and an apprentice Rivka. The Rivka, Becca, is afraid to get attached to anyone because if Satan finds out she cares about someone she might harm them. Nick, the Markku/healer, needs Becca to help him save his little sister, who will die unless Nick assassinates Satan. Becca has her own purpose for using Nick - she desires her own life force, separate from Satan. Inevitably, Nick and Becca go from using each other to loving each other (because that's how paranormal romances work, right?). Even though that plotline was predictable, it was still an amusing journey, especially when Nick and Becca had healing-bonding sex. This was a fun book, and if someone wanted to start the Immortally Sexy series with the first one, Date Me, Baby, One More Time, I wouldn't discourage him or her.
