I have a few favorite books that I return to when I feel the need to curl up with an old favorite and this story has become one of them. I have read this story multiple times and always enjoy it. I'm not going to get into the plot as others can do that so much better than I can, I will say that I loved the characters and their relationships, both newly developing and long-standing. The story had all the elements I enjoy, some drama, suspense, humor, love, compassion and more. I laughed and yes, even shed tears on a few occasions. I love the relationships between this group of characters and I admit, I have a secret crush on Jerome - crabby though he may be. Oh, and did I mention that the sex scenes were pretty steamy and resulted in more than a few muttered, 'Wow!' from me. I fully expect to read this many more times and will enjoy it every time. I have already purchased additional Max Vos novels and look forward to enjoying them too!
