I've just finished reading another famous detective, Inspector Morse. I read "The Dead of Jericho", about Morse investigating the suicide of a woman he had wanted to date. It has a good twist at the end.
Aside for the bookshelf-full of med school books I HAVE to read, right now I'm rereading the Century of the Surgeon and the Century of the Detective. :) They're two very interesting sets of stories about the history of medicine and crime...Truly fascinating!
(saving Agatha Christie to reread during the holidays :) )

I loved the PBS Morse series, but haven't got around to read any of his books. I'll have to add them to my list.

Mine was regular college, but I remember how hard it was to read for pleasure. I'd save all my books for the holidays too.

I'm starting
. It's the last book in the series (so far - fingers crossed). Dark fantasy. Really very good series.
I finished the audiobook
, wonderful! I'm now listening to
at home and
in the car. I started reading
along with
and
.
I finished
and am now reading
- the title and cover are AWFUL but some of the stories are pretty good.
I'm about halfway through "The Arrogance of the French" written by an American journalist who was lived and worked in France for many years. It's a mixture of history and politics.
Finished
and
. Crimes had too many short stories and was hard to finish. Sexy Beast, if I ignored the title and cover, which are terrible, 2 out of 3 stories were pretty good. I'm now reading
.
I've only read The Name of the Rose: Including Postscript a long time ago. I keep meaning to read Eco's books again.
I finished "Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code" by Eoin Colfer and I've started "Barrel Fever" by David Sedaris.
I have 4 or 5 Sedaris books that I bought but haven't got to yet. They look like they'd be hysterical.
Agatha Christie's Secret Notebooks, and, waiting for another three Agatha Christie's books that I ordered yesterday.
I finished
,
,
and
- all 3 stars. I also finished
- 4 stars. Now reading
- what's not to like with a title like that.

I read that book awhile ago and thought it was really funny. The movie was good but not as good as the book.

I finished "The Treasury of Foolishly Forgotten Americans" (excellent series of bios) and started Georges Simenon's "Maigret and the Man on the Bench".
reading "The Body in the Library". Agatha and I are renewing our friendship!!! Will be great to devote time to her again.
Just started Agatha Christie writing as Mary Westmacott " Absent in the Spring". Would love to hear comments on these writings.
Never did I realize that Agatha Christie was a author beyond Miss Marple or Poirot. I believe this is the finest work I have ever read from her. "Absent in the Spring" is brilliant.

I will get A Daughter's a Daughter for Christmas and I can't wait to read it. It will be the first AC as Mary Westmacott in my case. I'm very curios what's it like.
Absent in the spring is on also my TBR list :p

I too will look for "A Daughter's a Daughter". We can compare. There are two more novelettes in this book.
I will be reading them tomorrow. I am stunned by the quality of the writing.

Love to hear comments on "stream of consciousness" with Absent in the Spring? What genre will it fit into?
