Thank you for being my friend. It's a pleasure to e-meet you.

Your interest in philosophy caught my eye; then - Tom Robbins.

I e-met someone last Tuesday (8/05). This friend emailed saying: "my politics range from ..., ala Tom Robbins". My response included the following:

I just read about Tom Robbins in Wikipedia. It will probably take years before I could check out his books because I have plans for the next eight years, but I will. Wikipedia says Tom Robbins is an admirer of Indian mystic Osho who spoke against socialism and institutionalized religion.

I, too, am against socialism and religion devoid of reason.

These are two dictionary.com definitions of anarchy:

3. a theory that regards the absence of all direct or coercive government as a political ideal and that proposes the cooperative and voluntary association of individuals and groups as the principal mode of organized society.

4. confusion; chaos; disorder

I have always thought of anarchy as confusion; chaos; disorder. It is not a word usually associated with the # 3 definition which refers to individual rights. This excerpt from Reason Reigns is based on Ayn Rand’s ideas which I agree with:

“The government functions are: to settle disputes according to objective laws, and to protect citizens from foreign invaders and criminals.”
