Peter Matthiessen Wheelwright is a novelist, architect, and Emeritus Professor at The New School, Parsons School of Design in New York City.

"As It Is On Earth" received a 2013 PEN/Hemingway Award Honorable Mention for Literary Excellence in Debut Fiction and was nominated for the Pushcart Prize. "The Door-Man," his latest novel is being published Feb. 1, 2022

He is the nephew of Peter Matthiessen, a three time National Book Award winner.

Peter's architecture has been widely published and "The Kaleidoscope House," a modernist dollhouse designed in collaboration with artist Laurie Simmons is in the Collection of Architecture and Design at the Museum of Modern Art.
