The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Carly’s first review of the year

This book blew my mind and shook me. 😭 It takes A LOT to make me cry over a book, but this did it. By far, the most unusual, unique, and one of the more cleverly written books I'll read. Narrated by Death, this book was emotionally searing, chilling, and poetically intense with figurative language. The characters were some of the best I've read, and it was unlike any other historical WW2 fiction book I've read in that a light was shone on the hea ...more

What a sweet, heartwarming read! I love how all of the characters were brought together over the spirit of giving and sewing a quilt. Fiona was such a sweet little girl and probably my fav part of the book! Capturing the true spirit of Christmas, this book was a quick but very meaningful read.
