Definitely finishing this tonight

this is definitely the kind of book you could read in a day or a weekend. it's easy to read, has a steady pace, but little to no actual plot.

okay back to reading this one. now that she's met the male lead, the story's picking up

I hate to admit it but I’m not really enjoying this. I feel like I should be somewhat invested in the story by now but I just don’t care - about the narrator or anyone else in the book. There’s no plot so far which would be fine if the characters were interesting but I don’t think they are tbh. Humph. Unsure whether to dnf or give it about 10-15%.

I’m liking the narrator so far. The writing/translation is good, but has a staccato quality to it. I found this somewhat present in Heaven as well so it may very well just be Kawakami’s style.
