Loneliness and isolation are challenging aspects of leadership. While one clear solution is relationships, there is still a significant gap in people being able to create high-quality connections in the workplace. Leaders must intentionally invest in building positive relationships at work, which is essential to creating a healthy and productive environment. What’s missing from how we look at workforce wellbeing? While there has been increased attention to reporting on workforce wellbeing in the past three years, it is still in its early stages. We don’t yet have all the answers as to how to solve the problems. Since the launch of the LOV Center last summer, we have been conducting applied research around topics to increase thriving in the workplace. One focus has been building on Jamie Shapiro’s “Leader Vitality Scale” research from her PhD program. A recent next step with the LOV Center’s vitality research was to conduct a larger research study on vitality.
