You're faced with two emerging leaders at odds. How do you navigate their conflicting leadership styles?
I agree with Andrew. See how much is talking versus listening - and get them to actively listening and seeking to understand the other’s approach. No need to jump into coaching until you can get them to be open, and honest, with each other. Disagreement is perfectly acceptable - as long as it is respectable and taken from the perspective of “seek first to understand”.

What do you do if your team members lack motivation and engagement?
First, I check in on them - sometimes things are going on outside of the workplace that may have an impact on them at work. If I sense there is something but they do not want to talk to me about it, I remind them or resources available to them (like EAP Programs) to help them work through it. If it is workplace-centric, then we focus on the issue. If it is changeable or adaptable, we see how we can make that happen. If it is not, it is just a change in the business or environment, then I challenge them with some hard decisions. I don't want anyone on my team to be miserable, but some times businesses pivot and that may be time to make a change.

You’re trying to build a strong team. How can you create a culture of trust in the workplace?
Make mistakes and own them. In fact celebrate them! When the team sees that you are not infallible the will relate and perform accordingly. And, as my colleagues have said communicate with honesty and openness, do not be afraid to share the good, the bad, and the ugly.
