More than 30,000 Boeing workers, members of the company’s biggest unionized group, walked off the job early Friday after staff rejected a new labor contract and approved a strike with a 96% vote. The work stoppage halts production of most of the company’s aircraft, including its bestselling 737 Max. The strike is another costly blow for Boeing, which has struggled to ramp up production and restore its reputation following safety crises. Find more details here: cnb.cx/3B6IANC

I just watched that Boeing doc and I’m with the strikers CEO’s don’t need to make that much profit to make a quality product and it needs to be shown across blue collar America and Boeing workers aren’t even blue collar those people keep us alive as we travel I want them well paid and doing quality work along with the pilots

The Union is the problem because they promote the divide between the company and their employees. You listen to the perception workers have about how evil the company is and actively takes benefits and compensation away from these people. I heard the same thing come out of my late Father’s mouth about General Motors. The UAW is responsible for a new truck costing $60k today. Fortunately for me I was employed by a non union Steel Maker that to this day hasn’t laid off one employee no matter how bad it got since 1967. They have consistently paid out generous profit sharing each year and even though a lot is asked of the employees every shift they work they have managed to become the Safest, highest Quality, lowest Cost, most Productive, and most Profitable Steel Company in the World. I wouldn’t change a thing about my past employer and I certainly would never welcome a labor union in to the picture just to mess things up. Honestly Unions haven’t been needed since OSHA was created. Unions protect the lazy worker today and never miss a chance to take part of your check for dues and for what? To keep a few dishonest unproductive trouble makers drawing a good salary for nothing. Bet their not on the picket line.

It’s about time! Boeing has been recklessly abandoning quality control and safety issues. Faster harder faster nothing ever good enough. Quality is not a given it is a hard carefully earned process. When the bottom line is the only important short term solution then long term stability is in jeopardy!

Good for the workers! Boeing management is shit and has done so much to a fantastic company. As usual, its the workers who suffer and not management who walk away with millions for their incompetence.

Get the CEO to get paid according to his ability to fix all the problems NOT his position or status. Shame! Profits should address workers first before anything else!

This is why unions don’t work, just vote to get rid of the union and you would be better for it!

They need to get back to building high quality aircraft. If not, Airbus will out achieve then. Then they won’t have their jobs.
