Our Head of Organization & Culture Design Derek Newberry moderated a panel at the Future of Work conference to talk about the evolving relationship between people and technology in the workplace. At a moment when so many employees feel threatened by AI and other new digital tools, it was insightful to go deep on how these technologies can actually build community. Some takeaways from a great conversation with Kerin Van Andel, Kevin Gorman, Tom Whitty and Scott B. on leveraging technologies like AI to enhance the human connection: -It's critical to center the employee experience. Instead of starting with technology and trying to orient employee workflows around it, it's essential to start with their needs and pain points, and leverage technology to address them -This is where there are the biggest data gaps: We need to do a better job of defining what productivity looks like for different roles so we can enhance it and measure the impact of technology on it -In the current economic environment, there's more focus than ever on getting quick ROI from technology investments, and getting this return means investing in change management so people adopt and leverage new tools in the right way #futureofwork #AI #employeeexperience #consulting
