What are Satellites in Data Vault? 🤔 In Data Vault modelling, Satellites connect to Hubs or Links. They are Point in Time: so we can ask and answer the question, “what did we know when?” Satellites contain data about their parent Hub or Link and metadata about when the data was loaded, from where, and a business effectivity date. #DataVault #Satellites #DataVaultModelling

Many satellite industry players are embracing the “as-a-service” model, including some ground segment providers. This week, Chief Engineer John Taylor of SSC - Swedish Space Corporation spoke with Constellations about the technology behind advancing satellite ground systems in flexibility, scalability, and standardization. The latest episode of #ConstellationsPodcast covers how today’s ground systems can support missions up to a gigabit per second—and how these new ground systems could improve satellite service delivery, especially in Earth observation. Excellent for ESD and ARCING Risk prevention too! The NOAA SEISS instrument provide electron fluxes data of intermediate energy (from 79keV) that will be very useful for the deep (exposed) dielectric charging evaluation, in addition to the classical (spacecraft) internal charging one. These data will help us in modelling/estimate the ESD and Arcing risk on our very sensitive spacecraft
The Space Environment In-Situ Suite (SEISS) instrument onboard NOAA's GOES-19 satellite, launched on June 25, 2024, is now sending radiation data back to Earth! This data will play a key role in space weather forecasting when GOES-19 becomes operational as NOAA's GOES East satellite in 2025. Learn more: www.bit.ly/4gbpqWC
