FREE webinar for all parents or educators of a child with any additional needs: Parenting a child can be hard, but parenting a child with additional needs can often bring it to the next level; There is so many extra tasks to do and attend to, so many more jobs to fulfil - that we often end up doing too much for our child or don’t give them a chance to learn and to trust them to try. And it doesn’t help that we are constantly bombarded from teacher and professional that ‘your child can not do XYZ’, Wil NEVER do XYZ etc etc. But often our child can do so much more than we give them credit for - if we just allow them to do so, show them how to and trust them to get it wrong and eventually learn. https://lnkd.in/g2ECzcSy #parenting #specialeducation #specialneedskids #schools

“Normal is nothing more than a cycle on a washing machine.” - Whoopi Goldberg It is not a curse to be “rare.” To know or to work with someone or to raise someone who is unique is both an honor, a privilege and a gift. A person who looks different from you or simply views the world differently from you will cross your path. All of these individuals are unique. They do not want pity, they want to be included, they want to be valued and they want to live their best life. Public High Schools do not follow our special needs children forever. They do not know the struggles we face and the hurdles we have to jump over to fight for services once our children age out of school. My daughter is 26 years old and is living her best life. But you have to start preparing now for your adult child’s future. There is only so much time parents and caretakers have to prepare for transitioning their adult child from student to adult life. Save the date! 05/13/2024 I am excited to invite you to my online workshop, where I will talk about what a gifted young child looks like and how giftedness is defined in early childhood. Being a parent of a gifted child is an experience that is often filled with joy and laughter. However, gifted children can also be exhilarating and exhausting. It was even said that “Parenting a gifted child may be hazardous to your health.”. What does this mean? Why is life with a gifted child so hard? A common misconception about gifted children is that their giftedness does not become apparent until they start school. If you know the signs, you can recognize gifted traits in toddlers and babies. A lot of gifted traits can also be misidentified as behavioral problems. #providingsupport #sfbayarea #parentinghelp #parentingtips #bayareababy #parentsplace #parentingwebinars #preschoolers #toddlers #parentingexperts #parentingconsultant #sanfranciscomomsgroup #sanfranciscobaby #JFCSsanfrancisco #socialservice #socialservices #providingsupport #jfcssf #parentingtips #giftedness #twiceexceptional #gifted #giftedandtalented #giftededucation #elementaryschool #elementaryeducation https://lnkd.in/gnwdRCA6
