Are you using storytelling to your advantage? Reality TV does this particularly well by profiling characters we can all resonate with, drawing us in and keeping us watching season after season. Channel 10's Master Chef is a prime example and had me hooked again last night. The result? Viral chit chat and eye-watering $$ in sponsorship. It's a simple, winning formula that can be applied in business too. Sales teams, marketing, communications, HR and leadership can all use the same storytelling formula to drive results, but I believe it is most powerful when ALL employees are upskilled in how to use it to build authority and support employer branding efforts. It's actually one of my favourite workshop topics to run because of the visible shift in team dynamics and connections made by the end of it. The result? Increased employee engagement, diversity and inclusion efforts activated, faster recruitment times and increased brand awareness to name a few. To take this a step further, in a service economy like India's where most of the companies essentially sell their employees' time, the strategy should shift from customer fist to employee first. Your customer experience is a byproduct of the quality of the time spent by your employees for the clients and that quality depends on how you treat and invest in your employees.
