Tīgmūnung‎

[adiht fruman]

Wes þu hal! Where did you get "Tīgmūnung‎" from, for 'estuary'? The sources are consistent in calling any rivermouth muþe or specific to an estuary fleot. Hogweard (motung) 09:23, 17 Se Æfterra Gēola 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Wes þu hal! I got it as a derivative of the Western Frisian "Tijmûning", my understanding is that it can be transliterated to "tidal mouth", which, I thought could encapsulate an estuary. However, I'm not hellbent on the terminology, and based on what you are saying, "Fleotgemēre" or even "fleot" might be a more appropriate term.
