They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy (Wikimedia Commons only accepts free content). You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold when contributing and assume good faith when interacting with others. This is a wiki. More information is available at the community portal. You may ask questions at the help desk, village pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons (webchat). Space Shuttle Enterprise
editHey Prompt, just in case my actions for your images didn't make sense, I removed them from the main category since they were already in the appropriate subcategory. It's generally discouraged to place in both a parent and subcategory. Let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for the contributions :) — Huntster (t @ c) 23:31, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
- The more specific category is almost always the best choice, though circumstances may always dictate otherwise. In this case, I believe it helps give context to what is going on in the photo, especially since Enterprise will soon be moved to another location. I'm trying to think of a second category to add, since at least two are desired for all images, but I'm just not coming up with anything. "Wings" might work, but there's just not enough of the whole wing visible to make that category make sense! Heh. — Huntster (t @ c) 17:51, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, yes, they should have relevance there, if you want to drop it in. — Huntster (t @ c) 18:04, 11 June 2011 (UTC)
Your account will be renamed
editHello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called Rails (usurped). To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name Rails (usurped)~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
