American?

[edit]

Why does this article state that he is American when, if you read the facts of his biography, he was definitely British from birth until adulthood.... at what point did he stop being British? 81.135.72.147 (talk) 13:02, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

He was certainly British to start with. But some while ago, watching one of his lectures on Youtube - after checking this morning, I think that this video has since been taken down - I heard the chap who spoke before him introduce him as British, whereupon he immediately replied "Oh no, I haven't been British for a long time - that's just something that it still says on the internet." As he has been resident in the US for some four decades, I think that it would be astonishing if his new nationality were anything other than American, though I haven't been able to find any proof that this is the case. I'd drop him a line to ask him, if taking up the time of such an important scientist on something so trivial didn't seem a bit impertinent!Niggle1892 (talk) 23:23, 30 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
