Fled to escape ethnic cleansing

This doesn't make sense:

During the Bosnian War, the family fled to Serbia to escape ethnic cleansing

One cannot escape it by fleeing, because if you flee, that's in fact ethnic cleansing by definition. GregorB (talk) 11:47, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
