Text copied from Country Studies

[edit]

The first revision of this article is entirely based on text copied verbatim from the Country Studies project by the Library of Congress. I was concerned about this, but I looked around and was able to quickly verify that the Country Studies is in fact in the public domain. From the Country Studies FAQ page:

How can I obtain copyright permission to reproduce or use portions of the text or graphics from the Country Studies?

With the exception of some photographs, which are clearly marked in the photograph's caption, text and graphics contained in the online Country Studies are not copyrighted. They are considered to be in the public domain and thus available for free and unrestricted use. As a courtesy, however, we ask that appropriate credit be given to the series.

The wikipedia page on the Country Studies project has more information. --Smiller933 (talk) 17:14, 21 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
