I don't quite understand how the sandbox works. Do I have to "publish" something in my sandbox in order to create the "/sandbox" page? And is "publishing" the only way to save changes in the sandbox? I don't want to click "publish" on a draft that is still in progress and does not meet Wikipedia's quality or citation standards, but it looks like I can't even create a personal sandbox without "publishing" something there. Hello. In this context, think of "publish" as equivalent to "save edit". A few months ago the button was changed from "save" to "publish" with the goal of being less confusing. Clicking "publish" just means your edit is made, regardless of the page you are editing. Publishing a sandbox edit does not affect the main encyclopedia in any way. 331dot (talk) 08:12, 3 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
