After the last FAC failed, I fel a new Peer Review is needed to addresss the concerns raised there, and ready the article for another FAC run in the future NapHit (talk) 16:53, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

First time I've really closely looked at this article so forgive me if I go over old ground or comment on stuff that's already been commented on.

  • "At the Heysel Stadium" - would we say "At the Wembley stadium" or just "At Wembley stadium"?
  • Space between 3rd and comma in infobox.
  • "...to play in his ..." - to play at?
  • Last two sentences of first para of history have no citation, same for second para.
  • History section seems a little unbalanced - the first three paragraphs deal with 1891 to 1974 (83 years) and the next five go from 1975 to 2008 (33 years).
    • This is an important point, although given that 1975-1990 were the period during which Liverpool's successes took place, as well as two of football's biggest disasters, that period of time is always going to be prominent in any account of the team's history. • Some citations could be moved to follow punctuation as recommended in WP:CITE.
  • "This tragedy is known as the Heysel Stadium disaster." don't think you need this sentence. Make a suitable sentence to wikilink to the main article which fits more neatly into the prose.
  • Wikilink player-manager.
  • In general there could be a few more citations in the history section.
  • " Liverpool finished the season in third place in the Premiership for the second consecutive season. Benítez did guide Liverpool to the 2006–07 UEFA Champions League final on May 23, 2007. Facing AC Milan once again in the final, Liverpool lost 2–1." reads a little awkwardly to me.
  • Not sure about the selection of notable players. Most FA articles just push this out to a subpage with clearly defined objective criteria for inclusion.
    • As you know, I have raised this at wikiproject football, where there didn't seem to be any clear idea of what should happen with these sections. I have restored it for now (with plans to improve it) until such time as there is more of a consensus to delete these sections. Robotforaday (talk) 02:15, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Why the socks thing in parentheses?
  • "07/08" - should be "2007–08".
  • "The Pavilion houses everything needed for the players to undergo everything required at one complex." - what does this mean?
  • "( 43,561, which was 99.7% of available capacity)," - why space and why in parentheses?
  • Consider a final league position graph.
  • Update the current staff "Correct as of:.."
  • "Liverpool's total of three UEFA Cups is an English record, and equal to the overall record, shared with four other clubs. The tallies of seven League Cups and three UEFA Super Cups are also English records." need citations.
  • "Winners (15):1964 (shared), " - space needed after the colon.

That's about all I have right now. Hope some of the comments are helpful. The Rambling Man (talk) 14:38, 11 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for these remarks; User:NapHit appears to have responded to some of the other points you've raised, and I'll try and think about those that remain. Robotforaday (talk) 02:15, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
