A couple of my viewers went so far as to suggest I write a devotional book for teen girls. "Just think - a devotional for teens written by a teen. It'd be a bestseller," my mom urged.
I nodded and said, "I'll try." But my heart wasn't truly into the idea, so when my first attempt fell flat, I was all too ready to push the project away. I wasn't sure I'd ever pick it up again.
However, God clearly had other plans in mind for me.
In March of 2019, I was thrown into a whirlwind of events that left me drained, frustrated, and hurting. I needed time to heal, and cutting the Internet out of my life for over a month seemed to be the best way to do this.
During that time away, I picked up the computer, prayed for God's guidance, and wrote. Slowly but surely, "The Whispers God Gives" developed. God truly led each word penned in this devotional book, and I'm so very thankful.
Now, with the release date drawing near, I can't wait to give other girls the same opportunity I had to experience our Savior's tender, reassuring whispers, whether life be peaceful or hectic. (less)

Monday Musings // Time for Allll the Updates

Hello friends! Long time no post. I hope you are all doing well and had a great summer!

Life has been full. I finished my sophomore year of college early May and celebrated with a three-day trip to Virginia Beach with my mom. We got to hang out on the beach, enjoy the sunshine, go book shopping and antiquing, and visit the Regent University campus for the first time! It was all so much fun.

The Heart's Charge by Karen Witemeyer
"Somehow I didn’t realize I hadn’t read this book and read Book 3 first. But it didn’t matter too much.
This story caught my attention right from the start. It wasn’t your typical bad guy situation though the bad guys were bad! There was a lot of heart" Read more of this review »
In Honor's Defense by Karen Witemeyer
"This book kept me reading. It wasn’t all on the edge of your seat which I was glad, but that didn’t mean the story dragged. I liked Damaris and her struggles of trying to take care of Nate. Oh, Nate! He needed someone like Luke. Someone who would sta" Read more of this review »

“Clinging to the past is like walking backward down a long road. As long as our backs are turned on what lies ahead, and our eyes are focused on what lies behind, we cannot take full notice of all God has planned for us.”
Ellen Senechal, The Whispers God Gives: A 30-Day Devotional Book for Teen Girls

“If you were dragged into court today and questioned, "Are you a Christian?" you would probably answer, "Yes." But if everyone around you was digging for evidence, what would they find? Would they find enough proof to convict you?”
Ellen Senechal, The Whispers God Gives: A 30-Day Devotional Book for Teen Girls

“Do not let Satan use this mirror to whisper lies into your heart”

“Heart and flesh often fail. Let them fail! He faileth not.”
Hudson Taylor

“Forget the dogs; books were man's best friend.”
Jesseca Wheaton, A Question of Honor

“I may not know much, but I know this: You can't save the world, Tyler. You were never created to, and you're gonna fail every time you try. Because only one Person can do that job. And He never fails.”
Sarah Grace Grzy, Never Say Goodbye

“We all have our issues. If we waited until we didn't before doing anything in this life, we'd be dead.”
Sarah Grace Grzy, Never Say Goodbye

“I find it hard to live by faith, and confide entirely in God, when the way is dark before me. But if the way were plain and easy, where would be the room for confidence in God?”
