My new book of short stories, Pledges, is now available!

Hi, Everyone.

I've released a book of four short stories, Pledges, both on Kindle and paperback.

The short stories in Pledges are mostly set in a college in the early 1990s, and feature Dave Riggler, a character who will be familiar to my readers. The stories cover such themes as personal responsibility, suicide, love, and spirituality.

Sam Harris
“WHICH way should the balance swing? Assuming that we want to maintain a coherent ethical position on these matters, this appears to be a circumstance of forced choice: if we are willing to drop bombs, or even risk that pistol rounds might go astray, we should be willing to torture a certain class of criminal suspects and military prisoners; if we are unwilling to torture, we should be unwilling to wage modern war.”
Sam Harris, The End of Faith: Religion, Terror, and the Future of Reason

“All are going to lose everything they love in this world. Why would one want to be anything but kind to them in the meantime?”

Blake Crouch
“He thinks how it will be winter soon, and then another year gone by and another one on the chopping block, time flowing faster and faster. Life is nothing how he expected it would be when he was young and living under the delusion that things could be controlled. Nothing can be controlled. Only endured.”
Blake Crouch, Recursion

Neil deGrasse Tyson
“Do whatever it takes to avoid fooling yourself into believing that something is true when it is false, or that something is false when it is true.”
Neil deGrasse Tyson, Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization

Neil deGrasse Tyson
“Neil: Were you strapped to a Saturn V rocket, with nine million pounds of thrust, and sent a quarter-million miles away into deep space to witness Earthrise from lunar orbit on Christmas Eve? Madalyn: No. Neil: Then shut the fuck up. In”
