Isabel Falcon and Micah Wild were teenaged lovers 12 years ago when she became pregnant. Their families were feuding for several generations and came between them when they tried to marry and since that time they've led separate lives. Now they are being thrown back together because their 11-year old daughter is missing and they must reunite to find her, all the while struggling with emotions that haven't subsided in all the time they've been apart.

It was chilling to think about this young girl being abducted without a trace and you couldn't help but feel Isabel and Micah's agony. It was obvious that they loved each other as they loved their child. The issues that originally separated their families weren't really clear though it didn't really matter as emotions still ran pretty deeply. The resurgence of the romance between Isabel and Micah was overshadowed by their daughter Lucy's continued absence. It was interesting to track their progress as they followed up on clues to find out who took her and where she was being hidden. What was very puzzling, however, was the lackluster involvement of the police and the community in searching for Lucy. It seemed as if Micah, Isabel and their families were the only ones looking for her and this didn't seem plausible.

I liked the story, even though I didn't really connect so much with the romance. Their reasons for staying apart for 12 years didn't really make sense, especially when they remained connected through their daughter. However, the suspense surrounding Lucy's abduction kept me connected to the book and it had a good climax. It also seems like there may be a follow up story, which I would definitely read.

Review:

"Born to Be Wild" by Patricia Rosemoor was a very good suspense, mystery and thrilling ride. The suspense and situations that was so dangerous was simply well played in this action, danger and drama of a ride. Also I don't want to leave out some of the hot sex scenes in all of this action that was taking place.

This is a mystery that has brought two people back together due to their fact that their daughter is missing. This was a good read of many twist and turns from a missing child, who showed much strength of character in the face of danger.

"We get to see memories of their innocent teenage love, their fiery hot love, and the love that both Isabel and Micah hope can be their future. But do they end up together? Do they find their daughter alive and well? Who is the culprit?"

"Born to Be Wild" is one that will keep you guessing until the end so at this point I will say you will have to pick up this good read that I can only recommend to you as a good read.

Great writing, small plot problems...

Twelve years ago Micah Wild didn't fight for the woman he loved and the baby they were having together. The third generation in a feud between two families nothing could bring them back together. But when their daughter is kidnapped, he and Isabel Falcon will have to force a truce between their kin to root out the kidnapper. Years may have gone by since Micah's betrayal but a rekindling of the passion between them is inevitable. Can Isabel trust him to fight for her this time? Will they find their young daughter before the kidnapper harms her?

I'm not much of a romantic suspense reader, but I was in the mood to break it up when I saw BORN TO BE WILD. The family feud element is as old as time and always manages to be entertaining so I was really pleased with how well Rosemoor built that up and gave perspectives from both sides that made it feel real and interesting. I was glad to see Isabel and Micah trying to get their families to put what was important ahead of the feud too.

What ultimately made me not quite like BORN TO BE WILD was a mix of two things I loathe. I can't comment on the one without giving a slight spoiler warning so SPOILER-ish ALERT... Isabel and Micah rekindle the sexual side of their relationship way too soon. The last thing I would be doing if my daughter was kidnapped and possibly being molested is have sex with my ex. The second is that as the plot draws to a close and you think it's over there's another twist and another and another and so on... and it feels really silly.

As a whole, the two things that bugged me made it hard to really like BORN TO BE WILD but I loved Rosemoor's way of telling the story and will definitely consider reading her when I'm in the mood for a romantic suspense break.

: I absolutely fell in love with the hero of this book. I’m not sure why. Micah Wild did not fight for his pregnant high school sweetheart but he certainly did when life threw him a second chance. A family feud between the Wilds and the Falcons split Isabel and Micah up just when Isabel needed him the most. She was pregnant. The two still loved each other but were apart. They co-parented as well as they could. Till one day when their daughter goes missing.

Lucy is no where to be found. Her parents are in the search of their life and in the meantime they repair the damage of their relationship and fall in love again. Or rather, realize the love they shared was always there.

The storyline of the missing daughter was very believable and I couldn’t stop reading because I wanted to find out who took Lucy and why. I also wanted to see how the author fixes the feud between the two families. However I didn’t quite understand the feud and why it put such a wedge between two families. It could be that I’m a city girl and don’t understand the problems that can arise between two farming families.

I really hope that there is another novel because there seemed to be a build up between Isabel’s sister and Micah’s brother that would make an awesome story.

Nice suspense...

This was a new author for me and I was pleasantly surprised. This was a very nice suspense with a second chance romance. Youth sometimes leads you to make erroneous decisions when faced with numerous emotional pressures that haunt you throughout the years. This is what happened to Isabel and Micah, two lovers ripped apart when young by family interference and misunderstandings. Circumstances twelve years later cause them to reconnect in a way they haven’t been able to in order to find their daughter who is missing, a parent’s worse nightmare. Putting aside all their hurts and betrayals they team up to find their daughter before something dire happens. You could feel their agony at the loss of their daughter and regret of the past for their feelings have never died. The past was revealed to us in occasional flashbacks. This was a well written story which kept my attention through the twists and turns of the search for the missing child, a child who showed much strength of character in the face of danger. The mystery was handled very well and kept me guessing. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Betrayal, heartache, rivals, and family interference all have played a huge part in keeping Micah and Isabel apart. A family feud, dire choices made in youth, and hurt feelings has added to the growing dissension between Micah Wild and Isabel Falcon. None of that matters now that their daughter is missing. The only reason they still have contact is their daughter. But now she’s been kidnapped they must team up together, race against the clock and find her before it’s too late.

Born to Be Wild was a pleasurable, easy read. Although this should have been a heart wrenching story it lacked the spark that connected you to the characters plight. I did find Born to Be Wild well written, interesting and enjoyable. I liked it, didn't love it 3 stars.

This was the first time that I’d read anything at all by Patricia Rosemoor and I was NOT disappointed. I should probably relay that I don’t normally read books with anything about westerns, horses, or ranchers. Though I think they’re great, they’re just not my cup of tea. With that said, when I sat down to read “Born to Be Wild” I wasn’t entirely sure I would like it at all. And I was right. I didn’t like it.

I LOVED IT!

Micah Wild may have lost his love, Isabel Falcon, when they were still just kids, but now that their one remaining tie, their beloved daughter, is kidnapped, he is thrown back into contact with her and doesn't know how he lived for years without her. Micah and Isabel were torn apart by their families, but nothing will stop them now from saving their daughter and finding out if they can come together as a family. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline of this one and will be looking for more from this author.
