Texas Knights MC #2

Forever Family

Rate this book
Lisa Green has lived an unlucky life. An unusual childhood turned into life in foster care with no family to really call her own. Mistakes as a teen and bad choices as an adult turned her into a scarred and damaged woman. A chance meeting gives her a best friend, a sister in every way but blood, Carlie. When Lisa moves to Texas with Carlie to help her pursue her dreams, she has no idea that she will find a dream of her own. A love of her own. A family to keep forever.
Zeke is surrounded by people that love him, and people he trusts with everything he is and has. He is used to the simple life, coasting along and enjoying time with his family, the blood kind and the chosen ones. He is blindsided by the beautiful blonde fairy that moves next door.
She feels damaged and ugly, he sees strong and beautiful. With his love and strength, Lisa jumps into a whole new life. One filled with a love of her own, new friends, a large family and a baby of her own.
This book references an MC but is more of a romance. Geared more toward relationships and family, characters in this book will show up in a sister series, Texas Kings MC, a more hardcore MC series that will be available soon. Please enjoy these characters as they build their life together.

This one was even better than the first one! I loved it. Reading it from there perspective was amazing and the end of the book was wow just wow.
The only problem I had was that in a couple of parts of the book the name were switched and it made me confused.
But other than that an amazing book!

So it's really sweet. I love the characters. The men are amazing and nice secondary characters. It's safe, no cheating or ow/om drama. Also no tstl from the h, that is something I really appreciate.

Negs are (again) spelling/grammar, wrong name or word makes you go back and re-read. Also inconsistencies. From the last book it was stated Carlee was 30, she and Sam were the same age so it stands to reason that Zeke is 30 but he says he's 28. Also, once the baby comes into the story she's 3 months but then she's 1 month. It could throw you out of the story. Also need more romantic love scenes. The h's background had so many twists and turns and most of it comes out towards the end of the book. I think it would have felt more smooth if it was revealed in the beginning.

What's not bad is that the couple are so sweet and loving to each other. I just needed more of JUST them.

Didn't finish

These books have so much potential but i can't continue to read them when the main character is called after a different name one minute then the next its their name again the editing in both these books is so poor it is difficult to read them and get immursed in the story with out having to stop and think which point of view your reading from. But in saying that if the editing can be redone these books would be great. But i just can't finish it like this.

**3.5** These books have so much potential, but lack the finesse of a seasoned writer. I love all the characters Bowerman has created, the MC family, low drama, low angst...but I need a little more heat.

As with the first book, I would characterize these books in the KA family of storytelling. Alpha males, sweet, yet feisty women, and a large group of supporting characters.

It was annoying that the first 40% of this book was a retelling of what happened toward the end of book one, just a different perspective. Yawn.

Such an awesome read

Loved this book !! The character build was fantastic. You've got angst, sexy alpha men, humor and hot sex scenes and a really good storyline.
I'm a fan of this author and will be one clicking the rest of her MC books for sure.
I recommend this book

Lisa Green is slowly getting her life back together with help from her best friend Carlie. Lisa has relocated with Carlie to Texas when she meets Zeke. Zeke makes it very clear he is interested in Lisa but Lisa feels that she is too damaged to begin anything with Zeke. Zeke though knows he has found his one and will be as patient as he needs to be with Lisa, she has quickly become his everything. When the ghost of her past comes back though can Lisa fight past the fear or will she find herself lost again?

Great story, Lisa has a horrible back story and it was great to see her gain her footing. I liked Zeke a lot, he is so sweet when it comes to Lisa. I liked this book a lot, was curious how Zeke and Lisa's story would unfold and was not disappointed. Can't wait for the next book.

I wanted to give this a chance but it's too much word for word recap from the first book, I've lost interest. Sorry.

Not plot driven enough for my taste but I really enjoyed the relationship. It’s just that the whole plot side and some backstory felt murky. The ending was cute tho.

Almost the entire first half of the book is a revisiting of the first book in the series. I get it, we needed background on Zeke and Lisa, but it didn’t need to be THIS in-depth and repetitive. Honestly, I started skimming around the 45% mark because I wanted something that hadn’t already been covered in the first book. Maybe I’ll come back to this book one day to actually give it more attention, but that day isn’t today.

Great author!

If you are looking for a Great new author, look no further! A few editing issues, as with nearly all new authors, but they are easily overlooked due to the great stories and characters.

Emotional and heartbreaking! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

I do NOT consider this to be a STAND-ALONE read. It is part of a series that contains multiple reoccurring characters, details that cannot be adequately recapped within the scope of another story that contributes to the story universe / world building, overlapping / concurrent timelines and overarching themes. The scenes from the past are not what I would call repetitive, as they only touch upon them and add more detail through an additional POV. They don’t go through every detail with the same dialogue as I have experienced with different authors.

** There are some scenes that will be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following will contain SPOILERS **

Another great story by Cee Bowerman. This features the twin and sister of the heart from the first story of the series, Zeke and Lisa. We learn more about what Lisa experienced and just how much her life has changed since she met Carlie. I absolutely LOVED the futuristic epilogue with bright eyes!

The only thing that I don’t know that fully fits is how Lisa is so good at organizing and coordinating since so much of her life was controlled and she hasn’t been free for very long. Regardless I still loved the story, but maybe in the future that could be something that is addressed in an extended epilogue.

Small recap:

Zeke and Lisa meet when she moves to Rojo, Texas with Carlie, who has become like a sister to her. They met when Carlie was on the run for her life and moved into the apartment next to hers. When Carlie, her aunt and uncle were attacked, Lisa jumped from her 3rd story balcony to Carlie’s and helped save their lives. They have been together since, with Lisa assisting her with whatever is needed.

This story goes back and captures from the time Lisa came to town, the reconciliation between Carlie and The Coven, then finally Sam, the return of the Monster, Carlie’s kidnapping and subsequent rescue, and then fills in some behind the scenes moments as her and Zeke meet and fall in love.

One last note before I wrap this up … the MC genre contains several different branches from sweet to outlaw to one percenters. This one is right in the middle in my opinion. It is about love, brotherhood, families and support, but also contains characters that have and will get their hands dirty, cut and broken to protect those they love.

⛔️ The series contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, spanking for pleasure and punishment, restraints, “bottom” play, breath play, sensory deprivation, voyeurism, exhibitionism, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, rape, attempted rape, threats, subterfuge, money laundering, cheating, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, arson, drug use, drug addiction, drug manufacturing, drug distribution, as well as the mental, physical and sexual abuse of females and/or children, polygamy, etc.

** Caution: Contains scenes with reference to, or detailed graphic violence against females and children that fit into the storyline, but may be a trigger for some **

There are very few grammatical issues primarily comprised of incorrect word choice (piece iso peace), typos (att iso at) punctuation errors (extra periods, commas, missing quotation marks), missed words and extra inserted words. I am mentioning these for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.

Sweet Romance

I really enjoyed this book. It’s the second in the series and you should read the first book to get the full benefit, as it deals with some of the same events but told from the point of the view of the main characters for this book, Lisa and Zeke.

Lisa has had a pretty cruddy life. She was born in Utah and her mother was one of the 11 wives her father had. She was one of 33 children and she was taken away and put in foster care when she was 12. She had bad luck time and time again with the people she trusted, until she ended up saving Carlie’s life the year before. The act ended up saving her life too, as it helped her escape her captor.

Carlie wanted to return to Texas where she had loved Sam, Zeke’s brother and Lisa, who had become her assistant, came with her. As soon as Lisa and Zeke met there were was attraction. Even with Lisa as badly damaged as she was she could tell that Zeke was safe to be around. She also found herself feeling the same way about all the men in Zeke’s family.

There are couple of moments in this book that make you almost say ‘aw’ out loud, especially the bits where the big strong men and cooing over little babies. So sweet!

The main problem I had with this book is that there was some character name mix ups on more than one occasion and it ruined the flow as I had to work out what I was reading. There were some minor typos and grammatical errors but it was the character mix ups that annoyed me the most. However, that been said, I really enjoyed the book and really want to read the next one now!

needed a proofreader

So I started out reading the latest book and then started out reading in chronological order. There is definitely an improvement in her later work. But this one, someone needed to go back and proofread it badly! I’ve never read so many errors where the persons name was wrong! I’m one paragraph Lisa was talking to Lisa! That brought my rating down. It was so frustrating to read the wrong name and try to figure out who she was referring to.

That being said, I did thoroughly enjoy the story. Lisa should have been totally broken by what happened to her but she had an underlying strength that helped her push through and come out the other side stronger.

Zeke didn’t treat Lisa like she was a broken doll and that helped cement their relationship early on. He took care of her and brought her into his family. Something she needed badly. They were a great couple.

I loved that Lisa could see the sweet side to the tough bikers and loved her relationship with Kale. Can’t wait for his story.

The epilogue was really cute.

So the first part of this one was covered in the first book, but this time around you get to see things from Lisa and Zeke's point of view. That part is about what you expect. For me this one picked up after Carlie was recued and we got new story.

I really like how Lisa sees the world a bit differently. I love that she thinks Kale and Bird are sweethearts, despite them living a harden biker life. For her, they are 100% that. I also loved how Lisa wants to set up Kale with her friend in Utah and Kale seems up for it. I have a feeling that will be some fun reading for me coming up.

I really liked the turn that things took for Lisa and Zeke in Utah, how when given the opportunity, shit got real for them and that neither of them hesitated, nor did their friends in their support. I loved the party coming home, the t-shirts were the best. But the best part of the book was the conversations that Kale had with a certain someone over the years, so cute!

Forever Family is book 2 in the Texas Knights MC written by Cee Bowerman. This is the second book from this author I have read. This book continues with the same characters that were in the first but
it's more of Zeke Duke and Lisa Green story. This is not your typical MC story! This is more the story of the Duke brothers, the brotherhood in the Texas Knights MC and the romance between a sexy hot biker and a small beautiful fairy girl!! When Lisa moves to Texas with Carlie to help her pursue her dreams, she has no idea that she will find a dream of her own. Lisa is a broken soul with a tragic past looking for a new life with new friends and maybe someday a dream of real love. Zeke is Sam twin brother, a good man who is love by his blood family and the Texas Knights MC family. He's hit unexpectedly by Lisa's personality and beauty. No Spoilers, a must read!! Can't wait for more?

Honestly I just can't get over all of the editing issues. I wanted to love this ending, and for the most part I liked the general outline for the story, I like the characters, but the editing is just terrible. Wrong people being named from one sentence to the next. Incorrect ages. It took me sooooo long to finish this story mainly because I just wasn't into it anymore. I shouldn't have to work so hard at reading something IMO. Internally I was correcting everything I read and it made it so that I couldn't enjoy the book. I am curious to read more about Kale, but having checked other reviews, it sounds like the editing is still a huge issue, so unfortunately for me I will have to bid farewell with this author for now. Maybe future publications will be edited to where we as readers don't have to deal with so many issues.

3-5 stars... Read for explanation

My many moods while rating this book .

So... I absolutely loved the first book and I really liked this book . HOWEVER, the first 48% recaps(overlaps) the whole first book!!! So that being said I want to give it 1 star!

The next 45 % was awesome. Absolutely love and adore Zeke and Lisa . Also the secondary cast, We got to know Bird and Kale, at this point I want to give it 5 stars!

The next thing I know there is a mishap in the end of the book where the author starts using Sam instead of Zeke... that took me a min to realize she confused her own characters! This point I was frustrated and I thought 1 Star...

The epilogue... So freaking sweet! The best!

This book is sweet and endearing and again feels like a warm blanket. Not much angst interesting story and characters.

Okay I don’t know where to write this review since I read all of them so I’ll just write it here. First of all I LOVED all her books! They were so funny and At time there was some tearjerker moments. I loved it and could not put them down.
The only down fall of reading them was there was so many mistakes in the books. Whoever was soppose to check for errors didn’t do a great job. Names were being mixed up and there was a point I think from birds book to grunts book that there was two different stories happening when it came to Martha being captured with one of the little boys. I had to stop and figure out some things before I read on. I really really love her stories and I am a fan of the author and can’t wait to read more from CeeCee Bowerman.

Forever Family

I enjoyed this story and I loved the main characters. This is the second story I have read by the author and she keeps strengthening her storytelling. She has created a little world in Rojo Texas with a group of men and women who have strong family values. I loved all the characters. Overall good story with sexy time, humor, some suspense and strong storyline. But I could only give 4 stars, the editing had major errors that took away from the storyline. I was able to follow along but it takes away from the story and the dialogue. I will be Reading more of what this author publishes....Happy Reading!!!

Zeke and Lisa

Wow this story was even better than the first one, but pretty sad and heartbreaking with how Lisa's life was before she met Carlie. Zeke saw the goodness within her heart and showed how gentle and loving he could be with her. I really enjoyed when they went to visit her friend Terra in prison and how Zeke's motorcycle brothers were as well. Cee did a fantastic job with both Kale and Bird and especially when Lisa went to visit her long lost twin and her sister, and came away with a precious baby girl. The funniest part is at the end during the epilogue with Brighten and Kale. Loved this story and looking forward to the next one. Happy reading ladies.

Well I enjoyed the second half of this book

So in book one you get four characters backgrounds in a way. Then that story focuses on two (Sam and carlie)and this book picks up the other two Lisa and Zeke. The problem is the first third of this book is a sort of repeat and in some parts a cut and paste of book one. I almost stopped reading and pretty much skimmed those pages. I wanted to follow Lisa’s journey because it was interesting. Once you start the new details written in this book it picks up the pace and has a good story line. In the end I am glad I stuck it out to read about her going back home and all that happens.

Lisa & Zeke

Ohhhh! This was a wonderful story!! I loved Lisa & Zeke's beginning in Carlie & Sam's book, and we get to see all of that from their perspectives in this one. We also get more of the huge family of blood & not blood brothers & sisters. It is fabulous!!

This is the romance between Zeke & Lisa, the friendships between everyone, the joy of it all as well as the healing Lisa needs. There's so much going on that I LOVED.

And I can't say WHY I especially loved the very end bc it would be a spoiler to one of my favorite things that happens, but it was perfectly executed & made me smile!!!

😍😍😍😍

I fell in Love with this book like literally I laughed I cried and I loved every single moment of it this is going to be one of those books that I will definitely repeat lol

One thing though 50% of the beginning of this book is just repeating what happens in the first book but from Zeke and Lisa’s point of view I skimmed most of it because it wasn’t necessary to me and it didn’t bother me but the last 50% made up for it lol

I highly recommend this book

Happy reading my lovely bookworms and remember to always be nice to one another 😊

Sweetheart Zeke

Lisa and Zeke made me so happy their love story was so full of pain and heartbreak. It was full of wonder and so much caring and love. The gentleness of these huge, rough men brings me to my knees. I must say, MS Bowerman, that I'm only two books in and I'm already in love with these guys. I wish I could find me one of these men. And Kale and Brighten's relationship is fantastic. To have a family, or even an uncle you could call on for a child would be fantastic. Great, really great story. It really spoke to my heart.

amazing survivor love story

I love this book. I’ve read it before but love it. It does have a lot of repeat in the first part from the first book in the series but it’s from Lisa’s point of view and answers some questions the author gives you in the first book. Lisa survives so much but makes you look at life a little different because she doesn’t let it hold her back. I love how Zeke is with her and how he never judges anyone else either. I definitely love this story and all of the characters.

Good Read

I absolutely loved Lisa in the last book and I’m glad this book told her story. I loved how patient Zeke was with Lisa and how the guys all rallied around her when she needed it. I also loved the relationship between Lisa and Carlie and how they were so much like sisters even though they weren’t family by blood. The epilogue was absolutely fantastic as well and had me laughing, I think Kale will quickly become one of my favourite characters in his book which is my next read.

Great read. Love the different characters.

This is the 3rd book from the author I have read. (I read out of sequence but they are stand Alones). The grammar errors and name confusion are definitely better than the first but this one only has a few. The 3rd book gets better still. I can over look them because these are great stories and cannot tell you how much these characters are great. Loved the read and cannot wait for the next!
