When his older brother disappears in front of his eyes, Greyson McCaim is determined to find him—even if he has to travel back in time. Because it turns out their “crazy” father was right: their mother didn’t leave them willingly. She’s a time traveler, and someone pulled her back to her original home in medieval Scotland.
Now Rhys is there too, and the other McCaim brothers are stuck in modern-day New Orleans. They keep repeating the chant that sent Rhys back, and it finally works—but only for Greyson. Miserably unprepared for medieval life, he is saved by fate’s choice to dump him at the feet of the uncle he never knew he had. The two set off to learn what happened to Greyson’s mother, but their journey is derailed when they encounter an earl’s daughter in need of help.

Marian is sent from the only home she’s ever known to marry a stranger—a Scottish noble with a poor reputation. But her fear of the unknown is soon replaced by a completely different terror when her group is viciously attacked by reivers. The Scot who saves her is unlike anyone she’s ever met—his accent is strange, his words stranger, and he’s completely ignorant to etiquette. And yet this man awakens something in her, as does her newfound freedom from her father.

Greyson’s secret opens a whole new world for Marian, and her love makes him a stronger man. But can they possibly find a happy ending? Because his family is at the center of a conspiracy that promises to change Scotland forever, and from the perspective of history, he knows it doesn’t turn out well.

Romance that transports...

Cecelia Mecca is the bestselling author of steamy historical romance and also writes contemporary small town romance as Bella Michaels. Armed with a Ph.D. and lots of chai, she's known for giving readers "heroines who you want to be your best friend." When these ladies meet alpha-males who try to gain control, sparks fly until the very last page. One reader says, "No one can so completely wisk you away like Cecelia."

From the 11-book Border Series, which takes readers to an admittedly romanticized time of knights and castles, and Order of the Broken Blade with its secret knightly order, to Cecelia's co-authored Scottish time travel series, Highlander's Through Time and Enchanted Falls, Cecelia loves transporting readers to another time and place. In Kingdoms of Meria, Cecelia takes readers to a place they've never been before. Her brand new series, Brotherhood of the Border, is a Border Series spin-off which takes place thirty years later.

Our Highlander-loving author can be found in Northeast, Pennsylvania thinking up new ways to tame both medieval and contemporary bad boys. She is firmly House Stark and Gryffindor and loves all things fantasy, especially when tinged with a bit of steamy romance.

The heroines in the first two parts, accepted rather smoothly the heroes’ time travelling.
The writing was very good, however the pattern was almost the same with the first. Insta love, hero saved the heroine, politics, betrothed heroine, hero easily adapted to the Medieval Times.
I doubt I will read the other two....

Greyson McCaim and his three brothers always thought their father was crazy with his claims that their mother didn't willingly leave them five years ago but that she was actually a time traveler snatched back to her original home in medieval Scotland. But when their brother Rhys disappears before their eyes, Grey and the others are forced to admit their father was right about everything.

The brothers keep trying the chant that sent their brother back in time in the hopes of being reunited with Rhys, but it only works for Greyson who finds himself woefully unprepared for medieval life and luckily dumped at the feet of an uncle he never knew existed. They set out together to find Grey's mother only to be sidetracked from their mission by an earl's daughter in desperate need of help.

Lady Marian's only worth to her father, a powerful English earl, is her use as a pawn and he's sent her off to marry the son of a powerful Scottish earl, one with a deplorable reputation. She's fearful for her future but also slightly excited at the prospect of adventure away from the only home she's ever known, though she gets much more than she wanted when her party is attacked by reivers and all her guards are killed. She is rescued by a strange Scot with a poor grasp of etiquette and an odd accent and yet he stirs feelings in her and makes her long to be free of her duty to her father.

When she learns the truth about Greyson, Marian sees the opportunities in a life with him and his love for her makes Grey a stronger man. But his family is at the center of a political quagmire already and they both know breaking a betrothal agreement between two earls with have dire consequences. No matter how strong their love is, Grey's knowledge of the future may be more hindrance than help in this situation.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced, escapist read. I'm happy to say that this one didn't stress me out like the first book and that left left me wanting to read it more while still being unable to put it down. These two were both strong, sensible characters and it was nice seeing them grow together. I can't wait for the next story in this series now.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Blog link: https://mustreadalltheromance.blogspo...

Blurb :

A modern man, a medieval woman. Fate brought them together, but will history tear them apart?

When his older brother disappears before his eyes, Greyson McCaim is determined to find him—even if he has to travel back in time. Because it turns out their “crazy” father was right: their mother didn’t leave them willingly. She’s a time traveler, and someone pulled her back to her original home in medieval Scotland. Marian is sent from the only home she’s ever known to marry a stranger—a Scottish noble with a poor reputation. But her fear of the unknown is soon replaced by a completely different terror when her traveling party is viciously attacked by reivers. The Scot who saves her is unlike anyone she’s ever met—his accent is strange, his words stranger, and he’s completely oblivious to etiquette. And yet this man awakens something in her, as does her newfound freedom from her father.

Greyson’s secret opens a whole new world for Marian, and her love makes him a stronger man. But Greyson’s family is at the center of a conspiracy that promises to change Scotland forever, and from the perspective of history, he knows it doesn’t turn out well. Can Greyson and Marian possibly find a happy ending?

My review :

Will their insecurities doom their burgeoning romance ...

After the first book in this series being my first read by Mrs Julie Johnstone, this second one is too my introduction Mrs Cecelia Mecca’s work.
I loved it was very different from Sinful Scot, with the heroes being rather opposite to the previous couple.

Greyson is not a self assured alpha like his brother, he has his own doubts and flaws. He is lost in this medieval period, having to start from scratch to learn how navigate this dark and treasonous time.
Still he is a kind and caring man, and while he struggles to adapt, feeling guilty when he had to kill someone, lost in the web of political schemes, he soon is sure of one thing, he can’t let Marian face her impending future without a fight.

Marian is no Wonder Woman, she was the obedient daughter all her life, when she would have loved to experience more, she was a sheltered lady and until this day, she nearly never left her keep. And now she is able, it is to go towards a doomed fate. Yet, she faces the many dents set on her journey her head held high.
It is good to see her grow and decide for herself for once.

I love this couple, they are sweet and charming, caring for the others and not selfish as they sought others approval before their own needs.
A 5 stars read of resilience.

I was granted an advance copy by the author, prior to it I preordered my own. Here is my true and unbiased opinion.

Excellent storyline, great characters, adventure, passion and tension.
An excellent book!

It’s fun , the characters have a great personality, especially the brothers who you can really imagine arguing and annoying each other.

Its tense. The plot is believable, you feel the tension in the conflicts ,emotions running high, pain and tears.

Romance, It’s passionate and and all the feels are there with Grey and Marian.
They feel right together from the start.
They need to be together no matter what, in whatever timeline they end up in .

I loved the book , waiting for Reikart and Ian to join the travels is going to be so hard .
Read Book 1 by Julie Johnstone first , that way you get the full story.

I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review

Yowza! It was hard to get past that cover and start the book! I knew I was in for an adventure to say the least.. Cecelia Mecca, time travel and a Sexy Scot? Granted he was from this century but the bloodline lives!
This was Greyson's story after his brother Rhys had already disappeared and the stories his father ranted about his mother had traveled back in time, unwillingly at that. Well he found out the chant actually worked when he wound up in medieval Scotland and of all things he found an uncle he knew nothing about! (Yes I want those words of the chant!)
Now he can finally find his mother and his brother and get them back home. But fate has a lot in store for this handsome brother when they run into a a party being attacked and killed by reivers and he rescues Marian. Marian was on her way to marry a vile man her father was sending her to but when she meets Greyson, oh yes, she is entranced!
What a journey and such a fabulous story as Cecelia Mecca shows her amazing ability to blend in history with someone from the modern world and make it work! She and Julie Johnstone have dreamed up an award winning series that leaves you wanting more! Cannot wait for the next!!

This is the second book in the series & yes it could be read on its own but seriously why would you when two brilliant authors have banded together to give us an outstanding series. I loved every single page, the attraction between Grey & Marian was sizzling, the humour had me laughing out loud at times. A well researched engrossing, enthralling captivating read that I read in two sittings as I just couldn’t put it down, roll on book 3

I really have been enjoying this series. I think Greyson and Marian are my favorite couple yet. This story is finally starting to put some of the mystery pieces together I can’t believe I have to wait a month for book 3. I really have enjoyed the plot and characters. I wish I knew more about Grace but I am sure that is to come.

I loved Greyson’s attempt to ‘fit in’ when he went back in time. I laughed at some of his inappropriate comments to the ‘locals’. Marion is a delightful character, who is caught in an unwanted betrothal, but still seems to think all will go well. When Greyson and his uncle rescue Marion, the attraction is obvious to everyone. The repercussions of this attraction though, could have dire consequences for their clan. I loved the solution that Marion finally comes up with. This is a great book and I look forward to reading the next in this awesome series.

I liked this book a lot, although not as much as I liked the first one in the series (Sinful Scot, which is Rhys' story). This is Greyson's story.

I liked how it started with Greyson being shot back in time and ending up at the feet of his uncle still dressed in a suit and tie. Ross was kicking him until Greyson made a stand. Pretty brave for Greyson to stand up to a big Scot like that, especially not knowing much about the culture and still befuddled from his trip through time, but Greyson isn't one to take things lying down--figuratively and literally.

I liked Grey's spirit from the very beginning. He was an archer at his mother's prodding while he was growing up and had no idea just how handy that skill would be until he got into situations with other people in his mother's time. He didn't enjoy killing people, but did it to protect his clan and Lady Marian.

Unlike Rhys, Greyson seems to miss the comforts of being in 2020 in New Orleans. His cell phone made the time travel trip with him, something I found interesting, and he was able to show Lady Marian pictures on it and even take one of her. Considering that he's in Medieval times, I would've thought that the people of that time would've thought that to be a tool of the devil or be evil in some way. Lady Marian was definitely surprised, but she wasn't exactly frightened. None of them were. Greyson was using it to prove to them that he was from the future. Got it. I would've expected a much different reaction from them, but they weren't at all surprised by time travel and rather expected it since Shona's sister, Grace, was dealing with faes. It is what it is and it worked for the story.

Lady Marian is betrothed to an earl who has a bad reputation. Her father insisted on the union and she's going to see it through for political reasons. She's never met this guy, but has heard bad things. She's drawn to Greyson and his openness and his optimism. He's handsome, smart, and things she'd never dreamed of in having in a man. She found herself in love with him and definitely didn't want to marry the guy she was supposed to. Grey talked a lot about where he'd come from and told her she'd like it there. She wants to go back with him. She wants to make her own choices and can't imagine what that's like, but she sure wants to find out

I felt these two falling in love, which gives this book an edge that some other books miss. I like steamier love scenes, like Rated R scenes in movies. There were just a couple toward the end of this and they were probably PG. It's all good, though. They played into the story okay.

I have to admit that I'm getting a little impatient now, though. So far Rhys and Greyson have gone back in time. Their objective is to find their mother, Shona, who has been missing for five years and their father insists that she was sent back to her own time or went back to her own time. Meanwhile, their dad is in a coma and the doctors think that if Shona were to speak with him, he might come out of it. If these guys are so determined to save their father by finding their mother, why all the dilly-dallying around?

I also think that the reunions with their mother were lackluster. I wish there was more emotion to them. She hasn't seen her sons in five years and they haven't seen her. Their father lies dying in a hospital in New Orleans in 2020, they know their mother could be the ticket to saving him, yet nobody has tried to get her to go back. I don't think anybody has bothered to tell her yet. Rhys has been back in time for how long? And Greyson has been there for a few months. Time isn't stopping in New Orleans. Reikert and Ian (Rhys' and Greyson's brothers) are still there. Both Rhys and Greyson disappeared right in front of them. I don't know if the time continuum is the same when time travel takes place, but I can't help but wonder why they aren't moving forward with trying to save their dad. But I'm sure these questions will be answered as the series progresses.

I'm enjoying this series very much. I love books that make me question the answers or ponder the impossible.

Sexy Scot
Highlands Through Time #2
Cecelia Mecca
Julie Johnstone
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Greyson McCain is determined to go after his older brother who disappeared in front of him and knows he's going to have to travel back through time to do it. It seems his crazy father had the right of it all along. His mother would never have willingly left them. She was pulled back through time to her original home in medieval Scotland.
Now Rhys is there too, and the rest of the other McCaim brothers are stuck in modern day New Orleans. They brothers keep saying the chant over and over and nothing happens. Then all of a sudden he knows why it didn't work and as quickly as he figures it out he's pulled back whirling through time ending up somewhere in medieval Scotland.
Grey is miserably unprepared for medieval life, but fate chose where, when, and who to drop him off to and thankfully she came through for him.
He is dumped right under the feet of the Uncle he never knew he had. Grey, his Uncle, and some of his clansmen set off to learn what happened to Grey's mother, but their plans are cut short when they encounter an Earl's daughter in need of help.

Marian has been sent away from the only home she's ever known to marry a stranger who is not only a Scottish noble, but has a poor reputation as well. But her fear of the unknown is soon replaced by a different kind of terror when her group is attacked by reivers. The Scot who saves her is different and unlike anyone she has ever met. His accent is strange, his words even stranger, and he's completely ignorant to etiquette.
And yet this man awakens something in her a feeling she knows she has no business feeling and a newfound freedom from her father.

Now Greyson has told her a secret that opens up a whole new world for Mirian, while her love makes Grey a better man.

Wow another win for this talented duo. Cecelia Mecca and Julie Johnson have succeeded in tearing me back through time on this incredible trip. This was just what I needed at the moment. The best part is that this book is chalked full with historical tidbits. This couple was a perfect fit. They were so loveable that you couldn't help, but love them. So yes another great time travel book that is well worth the read. Ms. Mecca and Ms. Johnston you have done it again Ladies. I can't wait to read about the next McCaim brother and his lady.

Sexy Scot by Cecelia Mecca and Julie Johnstone is the second novel in the Highlanders Through Time series. This is the story of Greyson McCaim and Lady Marian, daughter of the Earl of Fife.
If you read the first novel Sinful Scot, you’ll recognize the brothers of Rhys as they try to follow him. Greyson is the next to go through time as the brothers try to perform the ancient chant many times. On the last attempt, Greyson tries hard to say it the way he remembered Rhys saying it. Greyson lands in an English pub just south of the Scottish border, in the year 1286.
He wakes up being nudged by boots. As he stands and stubbles outside, he’s followed by a large man that turns out to be his uncle Ross, his mother’s brother. Greyson manages to convince Ross of his linage, and Ross takes him under his protection and helps him acclimate to the times and place. Ross has volunteered to take a message from the Guardians of Scotland to Quinton castle where the English King’s regent is. Then they will continue on to Hightower where Greyson’s mother is.
On the way, they come across the party of Lady Marian, who is being taken to Pittillock, to be married to seal an alliance her father wants with the English king. She is not happy about the marriage but is duty bound to do as her father says. She has a strange but immediate reaction to the strange man with the group of Scots. The group is set upon by bandits and Marian is told to go into the trees and hide. The men fight, including Greyson. The bandits are killed, but so are Marian’s men. Greyson finds her and their attraction grows quickly. They decide to keep her with them until they deliver their message, then she can decide to return home or go on to her marriage.
That’s the basic setup. I have, of course, left out all the great dialog and many interesting items. I don’t do spoilers. This is a very romantic novel. The love scenes are steamy and interesting. The pace is quick and dangerous. There is a lot of plots within plots as the storyline progresses.
Authors Johnstone and Mecca have done another remarkable job of joining history and romantic fiction into an exciting story. If you haven’t done so already, grab a copy and delve into this marvelous tale.

This author has the gift of switching between centuries in a character's thoughts like none I've ever read. It's a perfect blend of medieval history, romance, and time travel. Three things I look for when choosing a book and this one has all three!

First of all, I completely loved Greyson. Not only his name but his character, I loved how his thoughts and feelings gushed from him like a waterfall before he had time to think them through. It made him honest beyond measure and he had a positive outlook so strong - it poured over into the heroine. A perfect protective hero.

Marian was doomed to marry an evil man for an alliance her father needed, her journey there was fatally interrupted when her entire entourage was killed. I half wondered if her father planned on sending her off ill-protected as if, in fact, he didn't care. Either way, I did not care for him at all. Luckily she hid in the woods and fate had her travelling with strangers vowing to protect her. The one who spoke strangely wouldn't stop staring at her. And she couldn't help but stare back.

FAVORITE LINE IN THE BOOK:
I didn't come through time, find an uncle I didn't know I had and a woman I didn't know I needed to let one deliver the other to a lifetime of misery.

This author spins a tale of the years leading to Robert the Bruce, who is currently a 12 year old boy. The reader will enjoy a slice of history between Scotland and England where alliances are formed, treachery is real, and a man's actions speak louder than words leaving honor the only truth to rely upon. I was gifted with an ARC and couldn't wait to share my thoughts. I want the next book now!

I very much enjoy Mecca's Highlander stories but wasn't expecting to like these time-travel books as much as I have. I really love these McCaim brothers, Grayson most of all. Grayson was not as prepared as Rhys was with his degrees in medieval history and Scottish language but he came with his mother's clan dominating stern stare and bluff techniques which had worked for him in the boardrooms and negotiating tables of New Orleans on his COO job of his family business. Lucky for him he entered 13th-century Scotland at his uncle's feet who was quickly convinced and changed him out of his 21st-century business suit and declared, 'You are with me.' But soon their group meets Lady Marian's and Grayson sticks out like a sore thumb: staring plain face at the earl's daughter! The beginning of watching Grayson 'acclimating' while he stubbornly refuses to go along with keeping his mouth shut, or changing his ideas on women's rights. It was so fun watching "Maid Marian' and 'Robin Hood,' the nickname his brothers gave him because of his proficiency in archery, give each other lessons: he to her on the pleasures between men and women, and her to him the manners and the politics of the century they find themselves. They meet with reivers and Grayson makes good use of the bow and quiver his uncle provided him. Later when he almost loses the contents of his stomach when telling Marian of killing men, she comforts him by saying, 'You are with me' as he had comforted her with the same saying when all the men escorting her were killed. The authors make great use of the differences in the English the two use, making for lots of giggles as I read. I got a great lesson myself in Scottish history and look forward to the next book as Grayson, Rhys, their wives, and mother are still in 13-century Scotland.

Exciting, unpredictable and romantic, this Medieval adventure is both well-written and educational in the nicest way possible. This era is depicted in numerous novels, but rarely are the historical events so clearly laid out, making one want to know more about the outcome for a proud Scottish nation. Greyson has watched his brother disappear before his eyes, at first not believing the evidence. When it becomes clear that Rhys has followed their mother back in time, the brothers attempt to do the same, but Greyson finds himself alone in the vortex. Whether by chance or design, he lands at his uncle's feet and his adventure into the unknown begins. More so than the first book in the series, the differences in time and culture are magnified as Greyson tries to find his feet in an era that he has vaguely heard about but never paid much attention to. Coming to Lady Marian's rescue on the road to his ancestral home, brings more danger and adventure than he had bargained for. However, even more surprising is that his heart also comes under attack as Greyson eventually has to acknowledge that he has fallen in love with the unattainable beauty. Marian's gentle but inquisitive nature wins not only Greyson's heart but also the loyalty of the rest of the MacKinnish men who ride with Greyson's uncle. When it would appear that all is lost, it is Marian's knowledge of family ties that brings the truth to light and hope for the future. This novel is well written, keeping my interest throughout, until the last page when I reluctantly closed my book, only to go back and read the last few chapters again. Although part of a series, this book is a standalone and comes to a well thought out close. I received a copy of this novel as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Book 2 starts back in Louisiana. Rhys has just disappeared and the three brothers are left to try to figure out how he managed to disappear. Greyson is quite determined to accept every possibility but one: time travel. It's unthinkable. When he realizes it real, he and his brother's once again try the chant while holding the cross. Greyson appears back in time at the foot of his Uncle's feet. His Uncle helps him and believes him, hard not to since how he appeared. On the way back to his mother's family home, he meets Marion (an English Lass, whose family is friends with King Edward). She is on the way to get married, but has no love for her soon to be husband. The party is attacked and Marion ends up with Rhys and his Uncle. They agree to take her where she needs to go. Along the way, they all come to realize Edward and her father are trying to weasel their way into an alliance in hopes to take control over Scotland. Greyson knowing history convinces Marion not to marry and give Edward a foot into Scotland. While that is great, if she breaks the betrothal the clan she betrays will become angry at both her and Grey. Both clans are aligned with the Bruce...Trouble will come calling..

The writing of both Cecelia Mecca and Julie Johnstone are exceptional. I would like to know more about the mother which left me with questions. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for a more personal opinion. I am not a fan of the cursing. I don't like it. I think men can be Alphas and heroes without all the F words...I think that is why I have always enjoyed historical books rather than contemporary. If you don't have a problem with language...this book will be a 5 star book no problem. Again that is my opinion...the story is fabulous!

Two amazing authors of historical romance have teamed up in this exciting, creative and romantic series of four books that follow each of four brothers from present-day New Orleans to medieval Scotland in search of their mother. They thought that their mother abandoned them five years earlier but their father's conviction that she was sent to the future by a spell from her sister in 1286 finally sinks in for them. Now they must try to navigate the dangerous and difficult journey to find her, and their fortunes and skills as businessmen are of little help 700 years in the past. Fortunately, their mother insisted that they learn to ride horses, fight and learn some languages and history. And the history in 1286 is very tumultuous and brutal. The King of Scotland has been killed and a power vacuum is causing clans to take sides. Who can they trust? The brothers know what is supposed to happen in history and it isn't pretty, but should they intervene? In Sexy Scot, brother Greyson runs into a damsel in distress whose guards have been attacked and killed by thieves. She is on her way to marry a loathsome earl in Scotland and Greyson fills her head with thoughts of freedom and equality for women in the future. The book is sexy, fun, suspenseful and so romantic.

Sexy Scot, written by Cecelia Mecca, is a wonderful second book addition to a new series alternately offered by her and author Julie Johnston. I can say I’ve already fallen in love with the McCaim brothers and how they handle their experiences when landing back in medieval Scotland. The first offering, Sinful Scot by Julie Johnstone, was a great lead-in to this series. It is a standalone work as well as this second one, Sexy Scot, though I am glad I had the benefit of reading the first one, about older brother Rhys, before this one, which is about Greyson. Both Ms. Johnston in the first work and Ms. Mecca in this second one have crafted adventurous, sexily romantic stories woven throughout with a lot of historical facts, great dialogue, usually at least one or two vile characters, and awesome heroes and heroines. You’ll fall in love with Greyson and Marian as I did. You’ll swoon at the sweet, sweet loving between them. I wasn’t ready for their Robin and Lady Marian tale to end. I wanted more. I’ll just have to wait until the next in series is out. Bravo Ms. Mecca.

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of this work, which has in no way affected my honest and voluntary review of what I read.

Cecelia Mecca has done a fantastic job in keeping with the high standards Julie Johnstone set in Sinful Scot, Book 1 in this exciting time travel series. Four grown brothers have lost their Mother, who disappeared five years ago, Their father suffered so much at the loss, that they believe his fixation that their Mother was from medieval times & that it where she vanished to back to that time, has left him mentally unstable & has further caused a coma with his illness. Rhys, the eldest disappeared during a chant the sons were trying in the first book. Now, the three remaining will try again & hope that they all travel to find their Mother & Rhys, but no, only Greyson "Grey" was the only one who travelled.

Greyson lands back in his Mother's time & the first person he encounters is a rough, huge, angry viking looking man who is not happy about Grey landing at his feet. After some physical altercations with the huge Scot, he finds that this man is is Uncle Ross, his mother's brother. They team up & head to find his mother & Ross wants to find his sister but along the way trouble appears, a battle ensues & though they win, they also have to rescue Lady Marian, daughter of the third Earl of Fenwall.

Mutual desire happens between Grey & Lady Marian but the lady is betrothed to the Earl of Fife & that is an obstacle among many others that make their trip to a HEA a difficult & dangerous one. This is really a great read for Time Travel readers - you will love it.

I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.

SEXY SCOT by Cecelia Mecca and Julie Johnstone is book Two in the Highlanders Through Time Series. This is the story of Marian and Greyson. I have read the previous books, so this did of course add to my enjoyment of this one. But, I did feel this could be a standalone book if you wish to do so. Greyson's father who they thought was talking out of his head about their mother being taken back in time, so learns the truth. Because his brother disappeared right before his eyes when he said a chant while looking for clues about their mother. So Greyson goes forward to now find his brother which he too ends up back in time. Luckily he lands near his Uncle place and after some time able to convince him of who he is. There Greyson meets Marian who group was attacked and he helped to save her. Marian was traveling because she was being forced to marry to seal a deal that has been forged. Now she is traveling with them where their attractions becomes so much more than either can handle. So loved this book and the writing by these two authors!

When Cecelia Mecca and Julie Johnstone get together to write a series, they mean business! This is the second book in the Highlanders Through Time series and I'm completely hooked.

Four brothers from modern day New Orleans are trying to go back in time to find their mother who vanished years earlier and although they didn't believe their father when he said she had gone back in time, now they have the proof that he is not mad! Rhys, the oldest brother, has managed to go back to medieval Scotland and now Greyson, the second oldest, finds himself there as well.

It's quite the adventure he finds himself on, especially when he comes upon Lady Marian. It's instant attraction and he does everything in his power to keep her with him. Telling her that in his time, women are allowed to do what they want and choose who they marry, Marian really wants to experience that but there is no guarantee that they can even go back!

Cecelia Mecca has done a wonderful job writing Greyson and Marian's story, very well written with an ending that will have you begging for the next book!!

Sexy Scot is the second book in a time travel series by Cecelia Mecca and Julie Johnson. The first book in the series was by Ms. Johnstone who wrote Sinful Scot. Ms. Mecca wrote the second book, Sexy Scot. The series is Highlander’s Through Time. The surprise in the title is the highlanders are modern day men from New Orleans.
Greyson McCaim is our hero in Sexy Scot has gone back in time to 13th century England and Scotland. Greyson’s actions are heroic, though he doesn’t think he is doing anything heroic. Greyson is determined to find his mother and brother Rhys who have been flung back in time by Fae magic.
While on his journey he meets the beautiful heroine, who captures his attention. The H/H have the right amount of chemistry and attraction. I really liked the H/H a lot.
Sexy Scot was an enjoyable story and I am very glad to have read it. I did find that some of the action that happened off stage was a missed opportunity to show our hero how out of his element he really was. I would have liked the book to be longer to add to Greyson’s reaction to coping with being out of his time. I feel like it would have strengthened a reader’s connection to our hero. This is more Greyson’s story than Marion’s story. For Marion, there was the right amount of story and backstory for her. I felt I had a stronger connection to her.
The politics in this series for medieval Scotland is being described very well and is thoughtful. It does not overwhelm the story but is definitely part of the story.
I received an ARC for my honest review. I would highly recommend not only this book, Sexy Scot, but the series too. This is one of the few books by Ms. Mecca that I have read. I do like her writing style and story lines. I will be reading more books by her in the future.
If I could give 4.5 Stars for Sexy Scot, I would. Since I can not, I rounded up. 😊

Book 2 Was As Good As Book One!!! Sexy Scot by Cecelia Mecca is book 2 in the Highlander's Through Time series. Book 1, Sinful Scot, was written by Julie Johnstone. What I am loving about this series is that both Cecelia and Julie have the same writing style and are both amazing writers. Sexy Scot cracked me up each time our hero, Greyson, would use a term from modern time back in medieval time which was often. The reactions from the other characters was just so funny. Though in a series this book can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend you read both books. I am so looking forward to book three. Sexy Scot has a father’s betrayal, an arranged marriage, a search for family, a very serious uncle, being attached, a missing aunt, rescue, secrets, leadership, trust and love at first sight. Oh yes… you must read this book, you will not be disappointed.

***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.

This is the second book in the series of Julie Johnstone and Cecelia Mecca, of four brothers! The story continues from the first book, the year is 2020 New Orleans Louisiana, the oldest brother Rhys has time traveled to1286th Scotland.Rhys is trying to find his mother who was thrown back in time by her sister. Grayson and his other two brothers are trying to time travel as Rhys has done,Greyson Reikart and Ian hold on to the cross from the Fae people. They repeat the spell to time travel, Grayson comes to at the feet of his uncle Ross, or course either of them know who each other are in the year 1286 Scotland. After talking they realize how they are related. Marian father who is a Earl in Northumbria,England and third cousin to the King, Marian is traveling to Scotland to marry the son of the Earl of Fife ,Marian is not happy to marry him as the Earl of Five and the son are cruel people. On the way to Scotland Marian and her father's knight's are attacked by robbers, Greyson and Ross and Ross clan save Marian but all of her soldiers are killed. Ross decided to take Marian to the Earls son in Scotland,Grey and Marian are very attractive to each other, during the travels they fall in love with each other. This story has so many wonderful events that happen, Ross has a fabulous part in the book, I couldn't put it down as the story was fantastic to read.I would recommend to read book one first to get a good understanding of the whole plot. I was given this book as a ARC for honest review, and I can't say enough good things to write, and not give the story away. You will enjoy this book as much as I did it you like historic time travel story,I gave it 5stars,Cecelia and Julie are doing a great job with this series. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.A lot of history in the story about the struggle Scotland had with King Edward of England trying to take over Scotland.

Part of a collaboration between authors Cecelia Mecca & Julie Johnstone, this is the second book in the series of four brothers who search for their lost mother when their father falls into a coma. That search leads them across time to medieval Scotland on the cusp of civil war. Our hero Greyson travels back to search for his older brother Rhys the first of them able to say the fae spell and travel back. Luckily for Grey he lands at the feet of his uncle, his mothers brother who aids him. Along the way back to their ancestral home they come across Marion, our heroine, who is on her way to be married. There is drama, intrigue and battles along the way. We see an instant chemistry between the two, as much as they fight it love ultimately wins out. Time travel is not my usual genre but I am a huge fan of medieval Scottish stories and Julie Johnstone. This series has not only introduced me to a new platform but also the fabulous Cecelia Mecca. This series is the perfect opportunity to explore new genres and authors you have perhaps not read before. There is strong, believable characters who you will love and root for, set amongst the beautiful scenery of Scotland. I cannot recommend this series enough, well written and although by two different authors the series seamlessly fits together.

This is the second book in this series.
In book one Rhys has disappeared in front of him - from New Orleans -now Greyson and his brothers try to work out why.
Greyson says the chant again and is transported back in time to Scotland. He meets Ross who turns out to be his uncle.
They set out to find Greyson's mother and brother but, on the way, they meet Marion who is the daughter of an earl who is being sent to meet her betrothed who she has never met before and does not have a good reputation.
This is the start of an exciting story full of action, intrigue and of course romance.
The author makes the story come alive – as if you were there.

I really enjoyed reading this story. I received a ARC and freely and honestly leave my review.

Terrific Scottish Time Travel Romance!!

Be warned this is book #2 in this series (which you will want to read if you have not.) Basically, four brothers find out that their mother is originally from early Scotland, and somehow was pulled back in time. They originally think their father is nuts, but now he lays in a coma, and their mother’s voice may bring him back.

In book #1 Rhys goes back in time. He has studied Scottish history, so is best prepared to survive in that time. (His story is amazing; did I say that already). In this story Greyson (sigh) can ride a horse and shoot an arrow, but otherwise is woefully unprepared for what he faces.

He gets a little help and falls in love with someone who is already engaged. (no, betrothed, get it right)

I can’t say enough good things about this story. Makes you realize how woefully unprepared we would be in that same situation. Bits of humor, battle, tradition and romance. Absolutely love it!!

Greyson, an archer and billionaire goes back in time to find his brother and mother. What he does not expect is to fall at the feet of Uncle Ross. As they make their way to his mother they save Lady Marian from reivers while on her way to her betrothed. What happens next is a dangerous adventure and unexpected feelings between Grey and Marian. You will enjoy their journey as they make a decision between love or loyalty, maybe they can have both. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.

I am really enjoying reading the Highlander's Through Time series. Julie Johnstone & Cecelia Mecca are among my favorite authors so I am always glad to see a new release from them. Greyson is so funny as he deals with trying to blend in when he is out of his time period. In the first novel, Rhys had education in the time period so that helped but Greyson had to figure it out and his slip ups were great. Marian had great growth as she learned some new ways to look at things as she learned about the future. Great series!
