Ancient, eternal, magikal, and in love with a woman immune to his charms. The combination can bring even the strongest druid sorcerer to his knees. Coyle O'Caha, a seven-hundred-year-old, immortal druid sorcerer, has one claim to fame--his experience mentoring fledgling witches. Three years ago, he found his soulmate, Deri Sullivan. With Deri haunting his dreams, he can no longer wait to claim her. He's tired of waiting for her to fall for his charms and see that he's the man for her. Of course, that's easier said than done since Deri is immune to both his charm and magik. Deri Sullivan's boss is a real piece of work. Not only is Coyle a millionaire with a body to die for and an attitude to match, but he also has a Scottish lilt which makes her knees weak. He's a certified ladies' man. A man she should avoid at all costs. A man she can't seem to quit dreaming about. A man with whom she wishes she could share her secret. Sometimes love happens at its own pace, other times, a supernatural nudge is needed. This book contains hot, explicit sex and violence explained with contemporary, graphic language.

I have to admit, I struggled with this book. It had all of the makings of a great story, but it didn't get there. Yeah, it was short, but that's not why I couldn't quite grasp the enjoyment I should have reached. It was just a bit all over the place. Deri made no sense and this ancient sorcerer named Coyle just allowed it. At one point, she slapped him twice in the face for NO REASON and he let her. Heck, he even got hot over it. But her reasoning MADE NO SENSE. The only drama and angst and bull came from Deri and her illogical behavior. It was tiring. How did I get so tired after reading such a short story?
Druid book 1. Paranormal romance novella. Coyle and Deri are immediately attracted to each other when they meet as his bar. They are both keeping secrets they can’t expose to a human.
I listened to the audible version of this short story. The accents were well done.
Sexy and amusing with the cousins teasing each other.
Smutacular! with sweet characters but not much else. Also it's a little expensive for how short it is. But it was ok for a smutty read. :) Happy reading!!
This was fabulous and I got to listen to it in audio. I love Mason Freaking Lloyd !! Ugh, and as a 700 year old highland Druid warrior !! Baby, I was in it so hard I could have flip flopped in gym socks !!
Woah, why haven’t I read any books by this author in so long ?!! There was one point where I was reading at-least one book by this author a day. This is a novella where there is instant attraction but the two MCs don’t act on their attractions until basically the end. I keep seeing everyone say this was smutty but I don’t think it was. There were 2 scenes in total and while they were officially mated and then married.
I hope that everyone is having the sexiest sex with their life partner. If you are not I challenge you to get your back blown out candle style!! DOCTOR’S ORDERS!!
This is a sexy little quickie. Coyle is 700 year old immortal sorcerer. When he first meets Deri he is instantly drawn to her. But he believes that she is only a human and because of that she cannot be his true soulmate and Druids can only mate with other magical beings. Deri is on the run from a stalker ex. Forced into giving up her magik or face imprisonment for the rest of her life she ends up in the town of Grove Bluff looking for a place to hide.
The sparks fly when these two meet and I have to say I really wished it was longer. The showdown with the ex was rushed but overall this was a nice steamy read. I will definitely be checking out the next book in the series because who doesn't love smexy tattooed Druids?
*I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review
An interesting but really short story. The story lacked depth and all the sex parts were totally unnecessary. I am of the issue that imagination is better than the written word. Will I read another, no!
Coyle O'Caha is a 700 year old immortal druid sorcerer who just so happens to own a Dagger's Edge Pub, and is also the leader of the Council of Magiks. Deri Sullivan is hiding from her past and cannot use her magik as she has been forbidden to do so, and if she does, the Council will punish her.
The chemistry is there between these two, but neither of them are willing to take their relationship to the next level for a good many years, until Deri's past shows up - then all hell breaks lose, and desires blossom.
This was my first book by Mandy M. Roth, and while I loved the steam level, I felt that's all this book was about.
There wasn't any story to this book at all. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy reading these types of books, but I wanted more than what I read. I felt nothing but forced attraction, and it was kind of a bummer.
There was also some choice words that made me cringe, so I'm not sure if I'll get this author another shot. I feel like this is her style, and while that's okay, it's just not for me.
This book is a fantastically wonderful gentle glide into a new series. The author focused this story mostly on the relationship between Coyle and Deri with a side of excitement to keep us guessing. I love the family dynamics and, other than wishing it was longer, enjoyed the HEA. I hope the next book is about Kory, but I am sure it’s going to be delicious no matter which hot druid she brings our way.
A super quick lunch time read. One 700yr old, young looking highlander druid wishing for his one and only. One wronged exiled druid witch, looking to start anew. This was an OK read, I just felt something missing and found myself skipping pages. Good storyline, but not the best that I've read from Ms Mandy M. Roth. Will try the next book in the Druid series, hopeful that will keep me reading this series,
A short sexy, sweet read. No real drama definitely a good read if your looking for a quick naughty read. The epilogue was super cheesy sweet the best kind in my opinion.
I was sorely disappointed with this poorly written story, it had potential but... I found it juvenile, horrible flow, shallow characters and a short story to boot. I won't be reading the rest if the series.
Sacred Places is the first novella in the Druid series. This can be read as a standalone. There is a lot of sex. This is a short book but most of the storyline is sex. Not much of a plot line except that. I was expecting more of a story from this author. Disappointing.
This one had so much potential, but it was only a third of a book. That's ridiculously frustrating because this could have been so much fun!
It had a great start that sucked me right in: -Strong female lead on the run. -Interesting back story with drama that she's trying to move past. -Crazy chemistry. -Groundwork laid for other installments with the cousins and grandmother, and her family.
But then the author just gives up. We get a sex scene and an epilogue.
-There's no conflict, despite all of the obstacles that need to be overcome. -There's no resolution.
There could have been so much more because the author already did the work of setting the stage, she just doesn't fulfill it.
This is one of those books that I'd like the author to re-write and re-upload. I'd give it a second chance.
**SPOILERS**
-There's no showdown with Chad. -There's no fallout with the high council. -There's no issue with them finding out that they're both supernatural. -There's no resolution with her parents turning their backs on her.

Deri is a witch, who has been banned from using her magik or contacting her family after her former boyfriend, Chad, used Magik that harmed a human, and promptly blamed her for it. Paranormal Bureau of Investigations enforces the sanctions and she ends up in Grove Bluff, a town she's passed through years ago and had felt at home in.
Coyle is the owner of the pub Deri goes to looking for work. He is a 700 year old, tattooed, Scottish Druid, who protects the local humans from things that go bump in the night.
I thought the story was great, I've never really read anything about Druids before. However I thought the confrontation with Chad was kind of short and could have been more in-depth. The story is short but there could have been a bit more on this as there was a chunk explaining Deri's background.
It is a quick break from reality with a sexy Highlander (as a Scot I sometimes found the word usage a bit weird but this will fill your nothing that would put me off. Sexy rolls off the page with Coyle and looking forward to the others in the series.

*2.5 stars* rounded up to 3 because Coyle is hot (yum!)
Well written, with likeable characters and an intriguing world building, but lacking a... plot? story? something to happen to the characters? I don't know. It looked like it was over before it really started. It was more the detailed report of a strong case of insta-lust, stretched over and over, than an actual story. Yes, there is a bad guy, but he's like an afterthought, not really part of the plot. Yes, there is a misunderstanding between the characters (as mentioned in the blurb), but it's hardly driving the plot, merely delaying its conclusion.
So if you want to read about two people severely lusting after each other then suddenly giving in to years of said pent up lust, go for it. This novella has it all.
If on the other hand you want a story to go with it (or some heart warming romance), you won't find much to satisfy your expectations.
It has been a while since I have read one of Mandy's books, so I am so glad that I found this one. To think of a 700+ year old druid finally finding his mate in a tortured young witch who walks to his bar looking for a job. She has been falsely accused of a witch crime and instead of killing her she has to walk away from everything her business, her family. Basically she has to hid from the man who caused her to be found guilty and be sent away. Banned from ever using magic again or even contacting any family or friends , even making new friends with magic. A big surprise for both since both are hiding that they have magic and can really be mates which they will discover at the oddest time years after they meet. HEA ending and a way to get her out of trouble. Enjoy reading this book
Deri is on the run after her last romance but her in a bind of sorts. The council wants her gone from her home, she seeks out a small town with a pub that seems quaint. It's there that she meets Coyle, her new boss. What neither knows is that they are both magical. When push comes to shovel, Coyle claims Deri as his mate and won't let her go. And Deri is more than fine with that. She's wanted him for years.
A quick read, that will keep you hooked from the first page. You worry for Deri and her ex, hoping that he doesn't find her. But then your anxiety is up when things start shifting in the book. Not to worry Coyle is there to protect you, I mean Deri!
Deri Sullivan is falsely accused of using magic to harm a human. Her sentence, exile from friends n family n forbidden to use her magic. She relocated to an obscure place n obtains employment in a pub. It's owned by one immortal druidic sorcerer who's a member of Council. One who's given up all hope of ever finding his other half n having children. For without finding his mate he will never be able to father children. His grandmother knows otherwise but keeps such knowledge to herself. What a strange n intriguing tale woven by Mandy as both characters keep their magical abilities hidden from each other.
Deri is on the run or actually looking for cover now she is banished and is not allowed to use magic anymore. This thanks to an evil and dark sorcerer who framed something on her. She is hiding in a little town and looking for work she walks in to the pub Coyle owns. Coyle is directly highly attracted to her, but she can’t be his mate, because she is human and he is a druid. He doesn’t know she is a witch, but is allowed to use her magic.
Great read with the evil sorcerer showing up on some point. Next to action there are many sparks between the two before the real hot and steamy action.
Only down point at this book? I wouldn’t mind if there were more pages in this book.
I found the magical world and concepts really cool. However, I wasn't able to get into the sexual side of the main characters' relationship, which was what the book seemed to mostly center around. It wasn't inherently terrible, but it seemed to have a very blunt take on sex despite occasional displays of what some might call "taboo" qualities, which were cool to have included. I haven't read a lot of books like this before, so maybe my newness to it is influencing my liking of the book itself. Or maybe these kinds of books just aren't for me, but I gave it a try regardless and I'm not disappointed!
Mandy Roth cannot write a bad book even if she tried hard. Her stories are written from the heart and with a reader in mind. Her books are so addictive to borrow a catch phrase you can't read just One. I have finished one series and started the Druid series with Sacred Places and finished it today. You will love her main characters they were meant for each other. I cannot wait for her secondary characters to get their own story lines. If you haven't read Mandy Roth you are missing out on great stories.
It's smutt. No real plot line. No character development. Just a whole lot of porn worthy sex scenes or talk about having sex. The world building and villain are down right cringe inducing. And the conflict that stopped them from being together asks the reader to not only suspend disbelief but blatantly violates the rules of the world that was built. Magic users can sense when magic is used and who used it. So why did the office confession need to happen. This story was dumb as diet water and I actually turned on porn to drown out the stupid.
(2.5) This was way too freaking short. There was so much potential with this storyline and the characters, and it just was cut short. I literally am so irritated with how this story just kind of went. There was not really any conflict and the characters did not develop because they were not given the chance to. I wanted so badly to like this story, but I am so irritated by the potential of this story that ended up being rushed and underdeveloped. It could have been so good, but unfortunately, this one definitely fell short for me.
