I love YA dystopia books. They are my favorite kind. I think people should right more of them. Unwind and The Hunger Games trilogy are definitely my favorites.
"The Alliance" by Gerald N. Lund is an aswome dystopian novel without a whole lot of graphic violence and language. Perfect for teens and pre-teens, harder to find, but worth it!

IKR! They are best types of books, but Mockingjay was pretty bad.

Love the Hunger Games series, Chaos Walking series, and The Chrysalids is also an awesome Dystopia novel!

It wasnt as good as the other 2, but she always said it was going to be a book about the effects of war and loss, and I do understand why she did what she did with the book. It wasnt just about Katniss/peter/gale....

The Giver's A Trilogy??
The Giver's A Trilogy??
Question: So I have been hearing a lot of buzz about Blood Red Road and about how its such a great book. But people have been mentioning the weird writing style. So what is the writing of that book that is so peculiar to everyone?
GONE,HUNGER,LIES and PLAGUE and The Declaration, The Resistence and Hunger Games, Cathching Fire, and Mocking Bird are the spark to the fire of YA dystopan novels . With controversy , action and much more ...

It`s written as the lead character doesn`t really know english or she`s lived in forest all her life.
I didn`t read it, but I tried to. The writing style was too disturbing for me to read it.

It absolutely is! That cliffhanger ending in the first isn't really so blurred after all. The other two are not quite as amazing as the first, but still great!

Dystopian novels are probably my favourite genre of books! Most of the books on this list I've read and LOVED. Forest of Hands and Teeth, Hunger Games and Divergent etc... All favourites!

I have just started with the YA dystopian books. Okay I did read The Hunger Games series years ago but lately I've read a lot more:
Uglies series. Okay
The Giver Very good
Declaration very good
Birthmarked very good
Jenna Fox okay
Chaos Walking book 1 and 2 are great.
Delirium. Very good
Matched. did not like book 2
Now I am going to give Unwind a try. This list does help.
I tried Branded and Incarceron but not really getting in to them. Maybe I should give them another try? I guess I prefer the books that have a world a bit singular as us with different rules. (Like love is not allowed or lets say children are not wanted) ;)

True and some are not for teens. (The Host for one, which I loved) Oh well I still like that I can get recommendations.
Maybe we're not new anymore to dystopian world but Divergent is incredible.
I'm gonna read Hunger Games trilogy next.
Hope it's good

Honestly I think the only reason the Hunger Games books are fist is because it's advertised a lot and people read them because of it. I've seen plenty of other books in the list that deserve a higher and better rating. Not that I'm not a Hunger Games fan because I am except for MockingJay I really disliked that book.

you all want to read the uglies series it is amazing cant put it down! read all the hunger games love them !!!!

It would be nice if some people knew what dystopian meant. There are several books on this list that are not dystopian, but rather sci-fi, fantasy, urban fantasy, paranormal.
my goal is to finish all the books on this list so far the ones I have finished have been amazing love the twist on a future realitys with fantasy and romance thrown in for good measure again AWESOME!!
I came here looking for a specific book (I only remembered a word from the title and the cover, so most searches aren't helpful) and didn't find it, but I agree or disagree heartily with a lot of these. Brave New World is only partially a dystopia, and is definitely not YA.
So far I have read 46 books from this list and counting. Dystopia books are the best kind of books :)
