Samia asked:

Why did the Republic send Day away even if he passed his Trial exam as well as June did?

Deb The trial wasn't just physical and mental there were psychological elements and it judged attitude and loyalty to the republic. Someone Day's aptitude and anything less than blind adherence to Republic dogma was a danger and even more so if well trained.
Sierra Rose I'm pretty sure it's because he was from a poor sector and they thought he was disposable and wanted to see what was so special about him.

Kale This is because he did so well on his test they wanted to see if they could enhance their soldiers to be like Day.
Kale Cranberry They were confused on how this kid from the slums managed a perfect score and experimented on him because of the perfect score, they wanted to use his DNA to either clone him as soldiers to use in the war against the colonies or to enhance soldiers also against the colonies.

Mayyah Herzi No no no...it was because he was POOR..there's no better reason as to why they sent him away. They thought only the rich could get good scores and were shocked and embarrassed that someone from this extremely low sector got a PERFECT score..so they hid it and sent him away so people wouldn't question how this "loser" could get a better score than pretty much everyone in all the other sectors. It's all about pride.
JuneBug The book said because of his rebelliousness
A. A. I believe it was because:
1. Day was from a poor sector and the thought of him skyrocketing like that scared the Republic
2. Day was unloyal to the Republic unlike June
3. Day's father was a rebel and so was Day (before and after the trial)
Evan Ellsworth The republic wanted to do tests on him to try and understand how he got a perfect score. He was from the slums, so it was easy for them to take him
Cass They tried to kill him because they knew he was trying to manipulate them. I do not remember if that was revealed in this book or the next, but that is the answer.
Joe because the Republic probably didn't like the idea of some one from the slums of the city getting a better score than the rich people
Declan Rodgers Have you read the book? Half of it is about why
Mcmeki I think it was because they wanted to test on him. That is why he had that thing with his eye and knee, but on one test they thought he died but he didn't.
Judy I thought it was just that they didn't care. X number of kids needed to be taken from the poor sector to be experimented on, so they just took them. Didn't matter what the scores were.
