This book is a lot more information and background, and a lot less rules and stats. While the DMG is useful for everyone, containing lots of useful items, classes, etc for players, the DMGII is pretty much just useful for DMs/gamemasters. That said, it has a lot of good stuff in it, and it's definitely worthwhile to have in the library....more

It is very hard (for good reason) to quantify this book in any way, shape, or form. I was a bit of a conspiracy nut in college and read a lot of random stuff back then. I had already discovered the Steve Jackson Illuminati card game (standalone) and adored it. Eventually I discovered the Illuminatus trilogy and read it, not completely understanding the whole mess. MUCH later I found this edition of the Principia at Gen Con, at the SJ games booth. It was near Illuminati at the booth, so, as usual, I had to have it if it related to that game. I read it and loved it. It's long been a general principle of mine to screw with people just for the sake of doing so (yes, students, I am out to make you insane :)). I particularly like messing with people who don't realize I'm messing with their heads. I know, I'm sick and wrong. Deal with it.
Anyhoo... Someday I'm going to re-read the Principia and then re-read the Illuminatus trilogy. Hopefully some things will become clearer. And I'll finally get around to reading the sequel......more

This was one of the best comic series I have ever read. The art is fantastic, the story development is paced well-with tons of twists and turns, and the character development is at the center of it all. This is about life as a superhero- not the heroing business. A fantastic read that I highly recommend....more
