Greg appears as a side character in a series by Greene. I have not read those books, but I don't feel I missed out on anything by not doing. I'm intrigued by this group, though, and may well go back and read them. *if I can find the time*
I gave this 4 stars, and one thing ONLY knocked that star off.
Single person point of view.
Only Greg gets a say here, and I wanted, so desperately wanted to hear from Louis, at many key points along the way and I don't get him.
That said, it's the only fault I can find with this book.
I loved that Greg knew, deep down, that he wasn't a casual person, and he could never be casual with Louis. Yet he jumped right in with everything. I loved that Greg let Louis keep his secret for as long as he wanted to. He knew it would come out in the end, he just had to bide his time. I hated what Greg's brother was doing to him, I really did. Said brother does get his comeuppence though.
Greg's past is dark and shocking, being made homeless at 16, he did what he had to do to survive. Loved that Louis did NOT hold it against him, even if his own flesh and blood did. Loved that the band supported him doing the solo stuff, to appease his brother, and also that they stood by him.
It's not especially explicit for a MM romance, but I liked that here, it's more about the emotions going through Greg (since we don't get Louis!) than anything else.
Some difficult topics dealt with: religious intervention, conversion therapy, street life and doing what you need to do to survive. Triggers for some, be mindful.
This is the first I've read of Greene's work. Like I said, I'd like, *time allowing* to read the series that Greg first appears in, but if not, I will absolutely read any future books by this author.

Callen finds Thatch, the leader of a black ops task force, bleeding and Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. Callen finds Thatch, the leader of a black ops task force, bleeding and bitten when he goes against orders, again. But Thatch was bitten by Callen's sister, and his niece is now missing and Thatch might be the only link to finding the child. But as the investigation spreads its net, Callen is forced to make some decisions, decisions that could cost him his heart. I really REALLY enjoyed this from Ms Seymour! She usually writes fairly fluffy, contemporaries and this isn't fluffy, nor contemporary but it is great! I loved the twist to werewolf lore, that the oly way for a wolf to be made is to be bitten. But that act kills the wolf and transfers all their memories to the new wolf. I loved the supporting cast, and all the little . .hints/clues/dropped comments . . .about them. Some questions wre thrown up, that haven't been answered here. However, in my personal experience, its best not to wait for those questions to be answered cos the last time I felt like this, I had a right proper hissy fit when those questions were NOT answered LOL So I won't voice those questions, and then I can't be dissappointed, right? I loved Callen. He is funny and hilarious, and dark and deadly. He is deep and meaningful, but takes great pleasure in winding his friends up. I loved that fact tht the bond between Callen and Thatch creep up on them, and there isn't that MINE moment at first meeting. It DOES come, but it's more growled out of Callen in reaction to someone else touching Thatch. So why only 4 stars with all those things I loved? Thatch isn't given a voice. Now, I know I say it a lot, and I will continue to say it where I think it necessary but HERE I think it really needed. Thatch takes ALL of his Hazel's, Callen's sister, memories and thoughts and feelings. ALL of them. And that had to be confusing when they start to come through! When those memories sends them far north to find Hazel's daughter. When he comes face to face with that daughter. What was Thatch feeling? I needed that, I really did, and if I HAD Thatch, I have no doubt, not a single one, that this would have been a 5 star read. I don't know if this is a stand alone, or there will be more of this group of people, I hope so, I really do! But I don't get Thatch, and so. . . 4 good, great solid stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

Margie's mind doesnt really like the sheriff, Connor. But her body has other ideas, it reacts in a way it has never done to a man before. Connor's body wants Margie, so does his coyote, but his head is saying nope, not going there again after being burned badly. But when an incident requires Connor and Margie to work to save a wolf caught in a trap, something clicks in Connor's head, and all bets are now off, he goes all out to win Margie over.
hot and steamy, right from the first page, this is a perfect hangove cure! my go-to for hangovers, shifter sex or vampire violence. this is of the first category and boy is it steamy!
not a complicated plot line, but I didnt't see the twist to who was laying the traps coming or why. I did see the Jason/Libby thing coming, and I hope they get a story soon, cos that is gonna be a humdinger!
Thank you for my gifted copy x

This book, right? This book is bloody AMAZING!!
I mean, this is the author's first book, that I can see, and it blew me away, it really did.
It's told from Nim and Tristan's point of view, with two others getting a say for a short time. They have clear and concise voices, and you get the setting of this world in dribs and drabs. You do NOT get everything all at once, and I really loved being able to process every little bit as and when it came at me.
And you can process it, just in time for the next bit to be thrown at you. And I really LOVED getting thrown at! I can't tell you how much I love being able to take steps into a new world a bit at a time, I really can't.
There is something much bigger going on here, that is revealed, I'm sure. The clues are there, I think, but I'm not sure I put it all together in the way it's meant to be put together. I mean, SOME things are totally clear, but it's the other bits and pieces that are a little fuzzy and I love that they are, cos I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED the next book to make things unclear!
Tristan and Nim's story is dark and deadly, and somewhat graphic in it's violence in places, but it really is needed, for you to get what has happens to the Blues since the ambush and death of their king. There is passion and love here, but it's not especially explicit, but as much as the violence IS needed, the sex is NOT. You get all you need between Nim and Tristan with what is here.
The people in this world are varied and different, with their own skills and powers and traits unique to their race. Some hints about dragons and Nephilim. Wings for Nim, her brother Val and a couple of Tristan's men. Those things are just *there*, you know? You don't get a big long winded explanation, just Nim stretched her wings. And I loved that!
Like I said, I bloody LOVED this book, and if this really IS this author's first book, she nailed it! Absolutely NAILED it and I cannot wait to see what comes next. I know that Val is next, Nim's brother, and given what happens to him in this book, I think that one might be a much more difficult read.

Two years ago, Dylan was bitten by a one night stand and now, every 28 days, he locks himself in a steel cage so he doesn't hurt anyone. But he can't go on like this, and moves almost to the middle of nowhere and lets his wolf run free. Chris lives next door. These are their stories.
Or rather, books one and two are Dylan and Chris; book three is a little crossover short from another series and book four is about Dylan's friend Ery.
I liked this set, regardless of that.
I loved the interaction between Dylan and Chris, they were proper cute together. Funny too. And after Chris finds out Dylan issue, the wolf jokes are great! Dylan and his brother Nick are funny too, with lots of silly nicknames for each other.
Book one, Good Bones, is written entirely from Dylan's POV, but we do get some Chris in book two, Buried Bones. Book three, The Gig, is written from Travis' POV and is about his and Drew's meeting with Dylan and Chris. And book four, Bone Dry, is about Ery, Dylan's friend, and Karl, who lives in Dylan's pond.
They are all very well written, and well delivered. I'm left intrigued by Travis and Drew and their story and want to go and read their series of books.
Not overly explicit, just the right amount of sex and steam for these books, and it does get a little gory in places, especially when Dylan is wolf. I loved that there were two distinct halves to him.
Good Bones and Dry Bones are my two favourites.
4 solid stars across the set.

The Ilyium have been hunting the Dracones for centuries. A few managed to escape to Earth only to find their hunters came too. Join Tierney, Jax and Sami as they fight to save Tierney's father, and other paranormal beings kidnapped. But also, they fight for each other.
Dragons are always gonna push my buttons, and I very rarely turn down the chance to read books with dragons as the main being. First time authors will also do it for me. They gotta start somewhere and I am happy to give anyone a chance. So when I came across this DRAGON book, by a FIRST TIME author, I knew, I just KNEW I had to read it!
And I'm so glad I did!
Its a little bit different, and different is always good. Dracones are the main paranormal being, but Tierney, Jax and Sami have yet to reach full maturity and cannot yet shift. Jax turns in the span of the book. But we have other beings here too, the Weres and Phoenix.
Its written very well, from all the main characters POV, including the bad guys. And you all know how much I love hearing from the bad guys. BUT a little twist there, that was sprung on yu right at the end, so did NOT see that one coming.
It does, at points, move fast, like rocket speed, and things get dropped in along the way that could have had a bigger build up. As a speed reader, it meant at points, I had to go back and check whether I had missed anything. But thats not always a bad thing. Once I got my head round Ms Marean's way of doing things, I paid better attention. Still surprised me at points, though.
I enjoyed, very much, and I really wanna see how this author progresses. Sami is next, and I really need to read that one, cos its gonna be a scorcher!!

For the most part, I enjoyed this book.
It's well written, with both Adam and Emma having a say, in the third person. POV flips at random points though, and it got a bit confusing. There are some clear changes, it's just there are also some points its Emma in one paragraph and moves swiftly onto the next paragraph and its Adam.
It's CLEAN. Just some kissing. I struggled with the concept of a single kiss being the reason these two never really loved anyone else after 10 years. A Hig School kiss under the mistletoe. Just a bit odd to me, is all. Might make perfect sense to some, maybe I'm just too cynical.
There is violence, but dealing with a drug lord was never gonna be a picnic, now was it? It's not very graffic, it's just there and needed. But for the violence, I would have tagged this young adult. It's just a tad too much for that, but one scene less and it would be.
I liked this book, I did not love it. This is the first in a series of the brothers Marshall, 6 of them, I think Adam said at some point but I forget already. It is also the first of Ms LaRoche I've read. Will I read more? I will certainly try. I DID finish this book.

I have a *thing* for the more obscure paranormal creatures, and gargoyles are at the top of that list, since so few are written. Add in an author who is a firm favourite, and really, you can't go wrong!
And I LOVED this gargoyle book!
It has twists and turns, new additions to the folklore of gargoyles. It has a feisty young lady, with an old head on her shoulders. It has an old solider, with a hardened heart. It has a scorned witch, and some bad as sin fae folk who want nothing more than to destroy all the gargoyles!
Beaumont (not ever shortened to Beau, so many Brownie points!) is old, and actually has had enough. Faced with his little pickpocket stealing his most precious stone, he knows that he will die if he doesn't get it back. But since meeting the feisty little thief, his attitude is changing, and maybe, just maybe, he can find it, and be happy with Sadie.
I loved that Beaumont only calls Sadie her given name but once in the whole book. She's his little thief, his pickpocket, all those sorts of names. Why? He doesn't like that Sadie contains the word SAD! I was like, "oh thats so sweet!"
I liked that Sadie's sister will play a huge part in another gargoyle's life, in book 2. And I wonder if the scorned witch will be making another appearence in a later book to redeem herself.
Ms Redd has started a new series with a bang, and I hope to get to read them all!

Silver is a hybrid, born of her vampire mother and Lycan father. She is also heir to her mother's throne. When Silver releases her wolf in a fit of temper, she nearly wipes out a whole pack. Confined to her mother's house for weeks, she relents and takes a pet, a human companion. Angel has spark, and openly glares at Silver. NO-ONE glares at Silver! Angel sets off a chain of events and emotions that Silver did not see coming.
Silver is, by her own admission, a spoilt brat but even she knows she was wrong to release the wolf, and she fully accepts her punishment. The warding keeping the wolf caged has failed and something far more drastic is needed. She needs to LISTEN to the wolf, rather than cage her. And the difference in Silver is astounding and almost immediate. I did think I wasn't going to like Silver very much but once she listens to her wolf, she is almost a difference person. And I loved that. The wolf knows who Angel is to her, thats why Silver was so against Angel in the beginning, because the wolf tried to be heard. Once she was, though, Silver the woman can see who Angel really is, her mate.
I loved all the references and appearances of the Greek Gods of old, they were amusing at points!
But I just felt I was missing something. Some history. Some information. I'm not entirely sure WHAT, just something. It says Silver's mother has been the Vampire Queen since pre-historic times, and that Silver's aunts, along with her mother, were the very first vampires. It also says the gods created the vampires and werewolves, but why?? I just needed...that...little...bit... MORE.
But this is billed as book one in this series, and maybe that which I am missing will come along in future books. I hope so. I would like to read them. I've no idea who will appear in future books, but it would be fun to catch up with Angel and Silver at a later date.
Fairly clean, but a bit bloody in places. And because we only got Silver, and no Angel...

4 solid stars

Sasha can't live at home, so he's on the streets. He finds an empty home that calls to his 6th sense and moves in. Then Nick buys the house. The houseSasha can't live at home, so he's on the streets. He finds an empty home that calls to his 6th sense and moves in. Then Nick buys the house. The house reacts badly to Nick wanting to sell it, and makes Nick's already tight budget and time frame almost impossible. Sasha doesn't want Nick to end up in the hospital, or worse, so he has to come up with something quick, while clearly out and healing his grandfather's house.
I won a copy of this book, and I am so bloody glad I did! Ms Ryan usually writes Young Adult and had this book came with that tag, I would not have entered, cos I'm not a YA fan. This is Ms Ryan's first foray into a much more adult setting, and into the male/male genre, and BOY does she smash it out the park!
Sasha can read houses, they call to him. His skill isn't made immediately clear, and we have to wait for the full picture. I think it really hit me, just what this meant for Sasha, when he was healing his grandfather's house.
I loved we got all of Nick's internal wrangling with himself over his growing feelings and attraction to Sasha. Loved that he was like, "okay then, must be bi" Loved the interaction between Nick and his brothers! His older brother needs a story now, needs to find his happy ever after, especially after what happened here. Well both brothers should have a story, I think!
It's not overly explicit, I thought, but it wans't lacking in any thing regards to the heat and steam level between these two! Not at all! It does carry a violence and drug use warning. These ARE needed and are an integral part of the story, but they are all off screen. We know Sasha's mum does drugs, but we don't see it. We know WHAT happened to Nick, cos we deal with the fall out, but not HOW. It also comes with a non-con warning. It's mostly touching, and doesn't develop into a full blown attack, but could very well have. It needs mentioning though.
It's told from both Sasha and Nick's point of view, in the first person. Each change occurs as a a chapter changes and is clearly headed. I didn't quite manage to read it in one sitting, but very nearly!
I can't wait to see what Ms Ryan comes up with next. I love finding new to me authors, especially ones who step outside their comfort zone! She impressed me here, greatly, and, apparently, I'm a tough critic! I'm not sure that's true, but I LOVED this book.
so,
5 full and shiny stars!

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 8 in the Sinners Gin series. I would STRONGLY recommend you Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
This is book 8 in the Sinners Gin series. I would STRONGLY recommend you at least read Tequila Mockingbird (book 3 in the series) before this one. That book is how Connor and Forest came to be. The whole darn series is amazing, though, and staring at the beginning wouldn't be a bad thing :-)
Connor is a SWAT team leader and comes across Tate in a raid. The kid has had a hard life, and the name on his birth certificate is gonna cause problems. But Tate needs a home, and Connor and Forest want to give him that. Connor wants to give Forest the family he never had. They just gotta battle the courts first.
I didn't see this book coming at me in the way it did, but it absolutely came at the way it should have, you know? Nothing will ever be easy for Forest and Connor, and adding Tate to their family was no exception. But they have a huge support system in Connor's family and Forest's ever growing band family, even if some of Miki's advice is a little sketchy!
It's deeply emotional, with the feeling raging through both Connor and Forest about what to do, will they be enough, will they be allowed to bring this little boy into their family. Made me cry a time or two. I loved it.
I loved that everyone pops up, or is mentioned. It was great to catch up with the Morgan clan and all their add-ins. Especially as I thought that book 7 was going to be the last one! Are there more planned, I don't know, nor do I care, but I will read them as and when they appear.
It's been a long while since I read a Rhys Ford book, and by golly I missed her work. It took me a hot minute to get into her way with words and then I lost myself in the madness that is the Morgan clan and the Crossroads Gin guys.
OH! And the epilogue! Any chance of a cheeky short about Dude and Gaige?? That'll be fun!
But I'm left with a question that played on my mind the whole way through. As I was READING this, I heard Tristan James in my ear. The voices weren't quite right, but James' reading voice was there. Will he be narrating it, at some point?? I need him to!
So, thank you, Ms Ford, for bringing us back to these wonderful people one more time. I really do appreciate the time it took!

OK SO! This is book 2 in The Hawks series, and Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book. I also won a signed copy!
OK SO! This is book 2 in The Hawks series, and you really REALLY MUST read Tristan, book 1, before this one. This book picks up immediately after that one, and you need, you really NEED that book to get the full picture of what's happened before. You get the most of it recapped, but personally, I don't think it ALL comes across.
Lanval was rescued, along with his sister Nim and Keeley, the Queen's maid. The Queen, however, was not and Val needs to rescue Alanna before her despot of a husband hangs her for treason she did not commit. But Val is broken, inside and out, and his Hawk friends hate him for what they thought he did. Lanni is glad Val is free, she can die knowing he is safe. Then, he's there, rescuing her and whisking her away! Ballinor won't stop though, and with a new chancellor at his side, things get mighty difficult for everyone.
In case you missed it, when you read my review for Tristan, I LOVED that book. And I wanted to love this one as much as that one, but I can't, as much as it pains me, I really can't.
Why?? Cos I LOVED THIS ONE MORE!!
OH my freaking gosh, this book! Full of so much! So much pain, for both Lanni and Val. So much love between them, even if it takes them such a long time to finally, FINALLY come together fully. So much discovered, by The hawks, about what happened before, and so much guilt from everyone!
I cried, a lot in this book. Val and Lanni are perfect for each other, but they know they can never be free to be together, while the King listens to his newest Chancellor. Oh I did NOT like him. The last one was just trying to get his hands on Lanni, but this one?? He's after so much more than that. What exactly, I'm not entirely sure yet, but I'm sure all will be revealed, eventually! I love being kept in the dark!
I shouted a lot too! Lanni has a lot of ideas about honour, as does Val, but some of it is misplaced. I swore, a few choice words a sailor would be proud of, or rather, words a soldier in the barracks would be proud of! These men, this group, right? They love hard, they fight hard, and they *think* they mess up hard, but actually, THEY don't! Reece, oh he needs such a hug. He thinks he caused most of the group to be captured, but he didn't. Even the Chancellor says so, but Reece feels he did. His book is gonna be painful reading, I reckon!
Both Lanni and Val get a say, along with Mathos, who has his book next. I did see him with someone else, to be honest, but given what was discovered here, then reading what it says at the end of this one, I was made to see my error. Mathos is not Mabin, like Val and Nim, but something else. Something with a beast inside him. With scales. Dragon-type beast? Not 100% certain, I may have missed all the clues, but Mathos the man is a bit of a player. He thinks he won't fall like Tristan and Val, so when he meets his lady in the next book, there is sure to be fireworks.
Said lady also gets the epilogue. When she was revealed in this book, I wasn't expecting her, and she has quite a tale to tell, I'm sure. How she will react to Mathos should be amusing, given these men have protective streaks a canyon wide, and she has been where she has all her life.
I said in my review for Tristan that I thought this would be a much darker read than that one, and it is, it really is. The level of violence Ballinor steps up to is given in great detail, and you can feel every lash given, every punch taken and every injury to Lanni at the hands of her husband. Val too, but it's mostly Lanni who suffers here.
I can't wait for what comes next, because I'm not seeing the whole picture yet. I can't see where this is all going and I love that! Mostly, though, because I'm loving these guys, watching them fall one by one, and meeting the strong women who take their hearts.
Write quicker, Ms Roberts.
Write. Quicker!

Couple thingsIndependent reviewer for GRR. I was gifted my copy of this book.
For the most part, I liked this book. LIKED, but I cannot love it.
Why?
Couple things, really.
First person, present tense, AND multi point of view is really my kind of personal hell. I've been known to dump books like this, but I've also loved some. This one? Not so much.
I didn't get the D/s vibes from either Milo or Keaton till it just came out when they were first getting down and dirty. There was literally NOTHING til that part. And to me, the dirty talk was a little . . . .stilted.
Keaton is paying Milo to be his one true love for the year, at least; paying a HUGE amount of money. And you can see what's gonna happen, you can almost SEE it happening right there on the page. I felt that freight train coming at ya came way too quickly.
