Callen finds Thatch, the leader of a black ops task force, bleeding and bitten when he goes against orders, again. But Thatch was bitten by Callen's sister, and his niece is now missing and Thatch might be the only link to finding the child. But as the investigation spreads its net, Callen is forced to make some decisions, decisions that could cost him his heart. I really REALLY enjoyed this from Ms Seymour! She usually writes fairly fluffy, contemporaries and this isn't fluffy, nor contemporary but it is great! I loved the twist to werewolf lore, that the oly way for a wolf to be made is to be bitten. But that act kills the wolf and transfers all their memories to the new wolf. I loved the supporting cast, and all the little . .hints/clues/dropped comments . . .about them. Some questions wre thrown up, that haven't been answered here. However, in my personal experience, its best not to wait for those questions to be answered cos the last time I felt like this, I had a right proper hissy fit when those questions were NOT answered LOL So I won't voice those questions, and then I can't be dissappointed, right? I loved Callen. He is funny and hilarious, and dark and deadly. He is deep and meaningful, but takes great pleasure in winding his friends up. I loved that fact tht the bond between Callen and Thatch creep up on them, and there isn't that MINE moment at first meeting. It DOES come, but it's more growled out of Callen in reaction to someone else touching Thatch. So why only 4 stars with all those things I loved? Thatch isn't given a voice. Now, I know I say it a lot, and I will continue to say it where I think it necessary but HERE I think it really needed. Thatch takes ALL of his Hazel's, Callen's sister, memories and thoughts and feelings. ALL of them. And that had to be confusing when they start to come through! When those memories sends them far north to find Hazel's daughter. When he comes face to face with that daughter. What was Thatch feeling? I needed that, I really did, and if I HAD Thatch, I have no doubt, not a single one, that this would have been a 5 star read. I don't know if this is a stand alone, or there will be more of this group of people, I hope so, I really do! But I don't get Thatch, and so. . . 4 good, great solid stars **same worded review will appear elsewhere**

For the most part, I liked this book. LIKED, but I cannot love it.
Why?
Couple things, really.
First person, present tense, AND multi point of view is really my kind of personal hell. I've been known to dump books like this, but I've also loved some. This one? Not so much.
I didn't get the D/s vibes from either Milo or Keaton till it just came out when they were first getting down and dirty. There was literally NOTHING til that part. And to me, the dirty talk was a little . . . .stilted.
Keaton is paying Milo to be his one true love for the year, at least; paying a HUGE amount of money. And you can see what's gonna happen, you can almost SEE it happening right there on the page. I felt that freight train coming at ya came way too quickly.

OOOOH! I liked this, a LOT!
Angelo is a wolf, with a hatred of vampires as one killed his parents and sister. Vin is a vampire assassin that Angelo has to guard. Someone is trying to kill him but the wolf might just finish the job.
What I particularly liked about this, was how quickly Vin was thinking that Angelo was his, his Angel. And he used that name from very early on and I loved that neither of them was fully aware of the mate bond til it was pointed out.
It's steamy, but oh so deadly. Vin is, after all, an assassin, with hundreds of years of experience. Some of that violence is on page, and while graphic, I do think it is needed to get the point across, that Vin might look cute, but the vampire is deadly.
I loved the way this author built this world, with shifters, vampires and witches all at each other's throats but trying to keep the peace at the same time. No one wants a war. Or maybe, someone does, but we are not yet fully privvy to WHO, just clues thrown at you. Vin does come a cropper here though, at the hands of who it might be, the lines are a little blurry for me, but still! I felt every blow!
I loved the supporting cast, too. They help Vin and his Angel see their true connection, but also play a huge part in the background story too. I look forward to catching up with them in future books. It'll be interesting to see who falls next. Well, I know who is next, I just hope I can get my grubby mitts on it!

This is book 2 in The Rhubarb Effect series, and you should probably read Sticky for You, book 1, before this one. There is a bit of an ongoing story arc and that book sets the scene for this one. And you know, it's a FUN read!
As is this one! THis is Ricky and Burke's story. Ricky is a pole dancing rhubarb stalk and Burke is a mini bull. There are lots and LOTS of one liners in this book. Full of rhubarb jokes again, but also with poles, and balls and bull jokes. SOme very funny moments, but also some emotional ones.
Burke is very sensitive and Ricky is a bit like a (I apologise for using this, but I really couldn't find any other words that would fit!) bull in a china shop! He wants Burke, balls and all, and Burke just wants to be wooed.
I'm loving these books. They really are perfect for just having a quick, slightly silly read. Smexy, yes but with humour, and a touch of drama.
The monsters are still about, and no one knows who they are, but Max has a clue who they might be. I'm looking forward to finding out!
Book 3 is set up nicely, with that one about Apollo, another lion like Max and a rather grumpy rhubarb stalk!
4 insane stars (cos, I mean, where do they get these ideas from!)

This is sort of the second book in the set, Let Me Show You is the first, and you really should read that one, I think, to give you the full picture of what Scott did to Carter in that book, and why he feels so bad about himself in this one. Not totally NECESSARY, but I think it would help a great deal.
Scott was awful to Carter, and then came out to him, which made what Scott did all the worse. When Scott kisses Davis, Tanner’s best friend, at Carter and Tanner’s party, Scott runs. It takes a great deal of Carter to bring Scott out of himself. Davis is profoundly affected by that kiss, and he knows what Scott did to Carter was bad, but when Davis sees Scott, really SEES deep into his eyes, Davis knows Scott is desperately unhappy with his lot. But can the newly outed vet be happy with the single dad? Can he be happy, at ALL?
Like I said, I think it would help a great deal to read Carter and Tanner’s book before this one. If only to give you the full picture of what Scott did to Carter, and why Tanner is reluctant to forgive Scott, even if Carter does, and just why Scott hates himself so much. You need that bigger picture, I think. Just my personal opinion, is all.
Scott is hurting. He knows what he did was wrong, and the fact that Carter has taken it upon himself to become Scott’s best friend shocks him but gives him hope. He doesn’t know if he will ever be truly happy with himself for that, but he has to try. Meeting Davis at Carter and Tanner’s party was a bit of a revelation. He doesn’t know why he kissed Davis, but he liked it, a lot. Getting to know Davis seems like a good idea, but a deeply scary one for Scott, especially since Davis has a baby daughter.
Davis is lovely! I loved his patience with Scott, he knows Scott is hurting, and he knows Scott is newly out, so he understands explaining stuff is hard work, but very quickly, very early on, Davis knows Scott is the man for him. He just has to bide his time while Scott gets himself sorted. When Scott comes to work in Davis’ coffee shop, it gives Davis the ideal opportunity to get close to Scott. And when Scott meets Libby?? Davis is smitten, deeply!
There is, for Scott, a great deal of soul-searching in this book. Davis is an open book here and Scott is not. It takes time for Scott to come out of himself, and for the relationship between Davis and Scott to develop and I loved that. In Carter and Tanner’s review, I said I loved being made to wait for the main event but here? I wasn’t even sure we would GET the main event! It’s a close thing, I tell ya. But it’s right and proper that these two take their time, and get to know each other properly, I think.
It has some sexy time, some deeply emotional time, some funny moments and some shocking ones. Both Davis and Scott have their say, in the first person. Both voices are very different, and each change is clearly headed at the beginning of a chapter.
It also has some very homophobic comments from a shocking source, where you don’t expect them, but once you know, you understand why Scott was in a bad place before.
We leave this little town, with Scott and Davis, and Carter and Tanner happily settling down to their new lives together. We also get to meet Scott’s sister. I’d like her to be happy too. She had it tough for a long time, and reconnecting with Scott gives her the courage to do something about her life. She deserves the kind of happiness her brother has found, too, please Ms Seymour!
Not quite as warm and fuzzies and too stinking cute as Let Me Some You, but it’s a very close thing! Still. . .

I was surprised I enjoyed it so much, since I didn't care for the Dragon Runners, and I cannot tell you why, either! Bev has her say in the first person, and Connor in the third. Different, but quirky and I liked it! Wasn't sure Connor would get a voice, but he does. The chemistry builds for these two, right from the start, but its way WAY late in the book that they finally get any time together, what with Connor's work, and Bev's kids and dealing with a shitty ex and his new partner. I liked that it took time for them to come together. They do bandy about the L word early, to themselves at least and I didn't like that very much but it didn't spoil my reading. Connor's builder family are in one of the Dragon Runners books, as they rebuild the Clubhouse/Bar (I forget which, and I didn't read Connor's sister's book, Stud, book 2) There is quite a lot of hints to the tension between Connor and some of his siblings, but the ones who turn up here are close to Connor. Bev's family are almost non-existent! I had to laugh at Bev's friend, signing her up for a dating app, cos been there, done that and got the bloody t-shirt! This is book 2 in the Monster Mercenary Mates series, and you really should read book 1, Caught by the Alien Mercenary. It will set the scene for this book, but also give you a better picture of Asmoded and his crew and how they all interact.
Mitnick saves Harper from the vault, after she was locked up by her previous captor. He manages to smuggle her on boeard and keep her for a whole year before he gets found out! She is his mate, and he will look after her, which ever way he can!
I really enjoyed this second instalment of this series.
Again, it's not a complicated plot, and it is plenty steamy but it's a slower burn than book one, and a bit darker. Harper's previous captor was not the most pleasant of beings and she suffered at his hands. Nick loves Harper, knows she belongs to him, he just has to bide his time til they can be together.
I loved that Nick was only Nick to Harper, and everyone else had to call him by his full name. I loved that Mandy plays a huge part here, as does Asmoded and the rest of the crew.
The next book is set up nicely, and I look forward to reading it!

Did you ever read a book, and think "What the ever loving heck did I just read??" (only, you know, more sweary words than some review sites will allow!) Well, this is such a book!
Max moves to Valentine Growville with his odd little pride and immediately feels at home. Meeting Tim, his mate, knocked him for six. I mean, Max is an Alpha lion and Tim is. . .well . .Tim is rhubarb. A rhubarb omega. Can they make this work?
It's so much fun, it really is and I laughed a lot, A LOT reading this book and I rarely react out loud when reading, (listening is a whole 'nother matter, though!)
Max is an Alpha of a pride of lions, bulls, llamas and other things that I forget already but they all have a love of rhubarb. Moving to Growville was a necessity, since they got hounded out their last pride. Tim is.. . . excitable! He really is a bit of a live-wire and he likes to sing. Especially once he realises he is Max' mate and Max can hear him in his head. Singing becomes the easiest way to woo Max and I have to admit, I found myself singing along with those songs that Tim sang, but changed some words for to make it fit better for him and Max.
It's steamy . . but in a kinda weird way. The way rhubarb mate is a little offputting, I will admit, but now I know what to expect, I'll be better prepared.
It is a lot of fun, it really is, right up to the point where things go wrong for Tim, but if he had just talked to Max, it could all have been avoided.
And also the point where the real monsters come to town. But that was not explained, and you have to piece the clues already thrown at you to figure out who they are. I'm fairly certain, but with Sayle at the helm, one can never be too sure!
I loved the references to fingerlings!
I love Sayle, you know I do, and I've read some Brown before, with 4 and 5 star reads from her on my shelves. How they came up with this idea, I have no clue, but it really was a fun read! The setting is set nicely for book two, and I see now whay the whole of Max' pride love rhubarb!
Will it win any literary awards? Nope, but I don't care cos I thoruoghly enjoyed it!

Kal kidnaps Caitlyn to save his niece. Finding that she is his mate was not what he expected!
I liked this, I did.
It's a fun read, that doesn't take much brain power to process and follow. It has some drama, with Kal struggling to find the traitor. Its a steamy read *fans self!* oh yes. And a quick read!
I liked that I saw who the traitor was, as soon as they were mentioned. I liked the way that all went down, even if it meant Kal had to put Caitlyn in danger.
I picked this up after reading another book by O'Connor. It doesn't quite push my buttons as much as that book but it really was a nice, easy read that you need from time to time to lense the palate between much heavier, darker books, which was where this book fell on my list and it was JUST what I needed at that time.
This is part of the Diner Days series, and I think, for ME, it took me a while to figure out where CI was gifted my copy of this book via BookFunnel.
This is part of the Diner Days series, and I think, for ME, it took me a while to figure out where Claude and Arlene fit, on the . . rainbow? Is that the correct term? It took me a long, LONG time to figure out just how these two fit into the premise of the series, you know??
There is much talk of The Video, that made Claude step back from their YouTube career. I never did get the whole story of that video. There is talk of it, but I never managed to put the pieces together as to what the video was fully saying, you know? I got that Claude was coming out, somewhat, as asexual and nonbinary, but I struggled with the bigger picture about it.
It's a very sweet book, though, and I liked that Arlene's introduction into BDSM was a soft one, and that Claude knew very quickly that Arlene was their person. That Claude was a pleasure Domm. I'm not entirely sure about the importance of using 2 m's in the word, but that was how the book spelt it, and it feels right to use it here.
You don't need to have read the other books in this series, but if you have, you'll catch up with Avery and Myles from Written at Randys, and with Ray from Cramming. I think as you read more, we'll cath up with more throughout the series.
From what I can see, this is the first I've read of Emily Alter. Will I read more? Possibly, if the blurb grabs. This one just fell a little short with me.

Ray is in Boston to find himself. He needs the space from his Canadian family to fully embrace his true self. He manages to *literally* fall into Jordie's lap on their first meeting! There follows a wonderful tale of one man fully coming out, and Jordie letting go of their hang up to finally have the love they deserve.
I read a lot, and if you follow my reviews, you'll know that I am not one for sitting on one shelf. I read MM, FF MF and any combo of those you can possibly imagine. I also read trans books and non binary books and all of those too. But THIS book?? Very different to anything I've read before. Let me tell you why.
Ray is at the very begining of his walk on this path. He leaves home to take the very first steps to becoming the man he knows he is. He is the first character I've read at such a spot on that path. His story is very detailed, and goes far deeper into the process than I've read before. I found it quite hard reading in places. Not bad, at all, just way beyond my knowledge and experiences.
Jordie is a character too, and I loved them. I liked that their pronouns stay the same throughout. Even if they are in femme mode, they don't use she. I liked that I was able to keep up with that. I did wanna slap them a time or tow, for not talking to Ray about their feelings and how they felt after Ray fully comes out, but they do get there, I just wanted it quicker!
I liked this book, it made for a very different read and I really learned something about the transitioning path. It's also the first books of Silver I have read. I'd like to read more!

This is book 3 in the Blood Bonded Mates series, and you should at least read book 2, Married to The Vampire Prince before this one. It sets the scene for what Bryan did at the hands of Giles.
I enjoyed book one, loved book two and I loved this one too!
It's far more emotional, I thought, than the other two. And it carries some powerful emotions, from Bryan mostly, but Tobias surprised me too!
Bryan is learning to cope with the guilt of what he did. he doesn't want his memories removed, he needs to suffer like he made those witches suffer and he is drowning in it. He goes off to try to offset the guilt by doing some good. Tobias knew Bryan was his mate from the age of 14, he didn't know he would meet him in such difficult circumstances, but Tobias is patient, if nothing else. He knows Bryan needs to heal, but when Ethan's mirror shows Bryan's death, Tobias knows he can no longer stay away.
I loved that Tobias was so flipping patient with Bryan. Bryan pushes Tobias away, a lot, and quite brutally at times, but Tobias knows, he KNOWS Bryan is hurting. Bryan doesn't need fixing, he needs time. The time factor ran out with the mirror, but Tobias still let Bryan control the pace of their relationship,
And Bryan?? Oh that boy needs a hug so bad! He asks Tobias for said hug, and it made me cry. I'm not gonna say how he gets his redemption, but I didn't see that one coming, either!
The thing with hunters was another surprise in this book! They are a pair, that have much to say and those two are next. I look forward to seeing how their story plays out.
I can't see that there is a bigger picture, after the thing with Giles was all sorted, but I'm hoping there are many more of these to come!

Manyin is kidnapped but manages to get settled on an alien planet. THEN she gets kidnapped again, and the latest kidnapper is not such a nice alien. Escaping onto Asmoded's ship as a stowaway seemed like a good idea, until she is caught by Asmoded after watching him do naughty things in the shower! The mercenaries just have to finish this mission, then he can get rid of the pesky human who seems to have gotten under his skin, a skin that changes colour the minute they are touching. Someone wants Asmoded dead, and Manyin is just collateral damage. Can they get away or will they never get to really admit what they mean to each other?
Asmoded is Naga, part man, part snake. Now, I've read a couple of Naga books, and they didn't do much for me, but this one pushed some buttons when I red the blurb, so I jumped in.
And it's a thoroughly enjoyable read! Told from both Manyin and Asmoded's point of view, in the first person, I really liked it!
I liked that Manyin pushes Asmoded. He is captain of his ship, and should be deferred to, but Manyin finds great pleasure in riling the beast. And Asmoded, for all his raging, comes to appreciate that riling. She pushes him, makes him think differrently, makes him a better captain.
Asmoded has some baggage he is still dealing with. But what I did not see coming about that, was the way that things were flipped on their head and Asmoded got some closure and found someone he thought forever lost to him.
It's stteamy, once these two decide to act on the smoking attraction between them! MAde interesting by the fact the Naga have a super strong snake-like body, and an interesting difference to the male appendage! (I need me a Naga!)
Book 2 is set up nicely, and I hope to be able to read it! I do hope ALL the beings (for they are all different and not just Naga) on Asmoded's ship get a book!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
For the most part, I liked this book. It's a bit different to the usual Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.
For the most part, I liked this book. It's a bit different to the usual adding a third troupe, and I do like a difference.
Luka and Burton live together, but at the beginning of this book, they are NOT a couple. Phoenix thinks they are. They both want Phoenix in their lives, but they also want each other.
Mostly, its three guys getting down and dirty, There is much, MUCH smexy times. I'm usually one to say I like my books on the smexy side, but I also like some story with my smex. And apart from these three getting together, the only real plot line is Phoenix' father and him getting his comeuppence. It was a bit too much smexy times, if I'm totally honest.
Some minor editing niggles: misplaced names was the biggest for me.
Did I love it? No. But I did enjoy it, and it's the first I've read of this author. I'd like to jump into their world.
Ima gush about this book, k? It's my review and I can do that, right??
Cos what this is, is a whole bunch of sweet I was gifted my copy of this book.

Cos what this is, is a whole bunch of sweet and smexy; cute and downright angry enducing; cat rescuing and pirate fighting (not literally, mind) and the cutest Lolo ever!
I mean, come on! Thomas needs a boy of his own, and Arlo just needs someone to love him. His parental units have mapped out a life for Arlo that he does not want, but he cannot fight them. Thomas helps him see, really see himself for the first time in his life. And I loved Thomas for Arlo.
I loved how Thomas was able to interpret Arlo talking about the pirates and what that really meant. Loved that, cos at first, I wasn't getting it, and then I had a lightbulb moment!
Loved how, at first, Arlo was adamant that there would be no grown up feelings/stuff. He soon changed his mind, but it was ARLO who moved the goalposts, and no pressure was put on him, at all.
Hated the parental units and how they made Arlo feel.
Loved what Thomas does for Jolly!
I'm gonna wrap up, or I'll go on and on, and a ranting review does not a good review make!
I LOVED THIS!
Every time Ms Welch writes these kinds of books, I think it's the best yet, and here we go again! Her best one yet!!

I've followed Ms Adams from the very beginning, and I can honestly say, I'm loving the way she is honing her craft.
This is a step out of her comfort zone, I think, and I bloody LOVED it!
Vince has watched his best friend fall in love with someone else, and an invitation to the wedding is just a step too far for his broken heart. Jetting off to France for a week seemed like a good idea. Meeting Sylvain seemed the answer to his prayers, right?
I loved this, I really did.
It's sweet and smexy, emotional and funny, and everything inbetween, while being a delightful tale of two men meeting and falling in love, when they least expect it!
I did NOT like Theo, even after it all went down. The man really couldn't see who was under his nose the whole time and he couldn't see what an idiot he was getting.
Loved the best friend, Lexi but hated the position that Theo put her in with Vince.
The best bit? Sylvian letting Vince set the pace of their physical relationship. I loved that we never actually got to The Main Event! I mean, its steamy and lots of smexy times, but The Main Event never happens, and I actually LOVED that, I really did.
It's a much lighter read from Ms Adams, and I loved the direction this took.
This is book two in the Coming Home series, but other than the long absence from home, there is no direct link between the two. Leo left his home in Australia to work in the UK five years ago. Now on a trip home, he comes face to face with part of the reason he left: Zak. Leo has loved Zak all this time, but will Zak even speak to Leo, after what he did?
My first thought when finishing this was: cute! Really cute! I liked it, a lot, but I can’t quite love it. It’s written only from Leo’s point of view in the first person. And of course I’m gonna say I needed to here from Zak, you know I am. I fell here though, I am more than justified in saying it! Leo wrecked Zak’s bike, after he saw Zak kissing someone else, and I wanted, no NEEDED to know what went through Zak’s mind at that point, but more so, when he finally admits to Leo why he did what he did all those years ago. Zak NEEDED his voice, and he doesn’t get it.
I also found I wanted to know what Leo was doing in the UK! I mean, I read the book, but I don’t think I saw what his work was!
Still, those points aside, I really did enjoy it.
It is one of those bath-tub/lunch break reads, that don’t take any concentrating on, and you can just fall into, and read, you know? It’s not a negative thing, not at all! Sometimes, you need a nice, sweet read, that allows you to decompress from a much longer, difficult read. Or in my case, a nice, easy read that allows you to sit out in the sun, on your lunch break in a 14 hour shift and ignore the world.
Thank you, Ms Seymour, for the very warm and fuzzies, too stinking cute read that was ABSOLUTELY needed today!
4 stars
