I have thoughts. For one, I didn’t like the way Romeo handled the whole cheating situation. His wife wasn’t the best person obviously but it still doesn’t warrant his enthusiasm? It’s not the right word but that’s how I felt when reading his actions. excitement. Thrill.
I also didn’t particularly like the book after they got together. It was boring, bland. I hoped to read more of them adjusting to getting back together and back in each other’s lives but the cheating happened so seamlessly, there was no angst or tension. I’m upset , it’s childhood friends to lovers...more

If Alek was a burden then, he was much heavier now.”
I’m very surprised by how much I enjoyed reading this. For me, it was the tension and obvious passion between the two characters that they didn’t know how to show. I loved watching them grow and overcome their issues. I just love any book that’s about characters falling back in love✨...more

I’ve enjoyed 3 of his books so so much and therefore very upset by how this turned out for me. it was thrilling and adventurous and while 2 out of the 3 twists were good, the major twist ( I’m trying to be as non spoilery as possible ) was too out of the box for me. I hate hate when a twist feels like it came out of nowhere with no explanation. The vibes weren’t there to begin with, so I don’t know why the situation had to take a (view spoiler)[ supernatural (hide spoiler)] turn.

But i rate based on how i felt reading the book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I definitely did not see that twist coming, which is surprising considering i have actually read books with a similar twists and always guessed it too early. I think it’s the number of plot twists that happened towards the end of this book that distracted me lmao. I didn’t even have time to think about who actually did it, i was engrossed in the story ( which might be the best compliment i can give <3 ) i think this is the first time i wasn’t deterred by my lack of affection for the main character, i usually get put off by the mc’s stupidass decisions and reasonings but it didn’t bother me as much here.
So yeah! A solid 3.5 stars; cannot wait to read more of Stacy Willingham’s stories....more
