[image] It's been a while since I have been moved by a book as much as this one, I spent a good portion of my Saturday night crying, and the emotions that I felt whilst reading The Silent Waters were very intense and real.
Such a beautiful story of two childhood friends who love each other deeply, but where the timing is never quite right, and the circumstances of their lives keep them from achieving true happiness.
"I need you to know that even if you decide to never speak again, you’ll always have someone around to hear you, Maggie. All right? I’ll always be there to listen to your silence."
Maggie Riley and Brooks Griffin's story touched me so deeply, their journey is not an easy one, but the pain and the tears are outweighed by their wonderful friendship and their amazing moments together, and there were so many beautiful moments.
Maggie is an intelligent and loving woman, who is crippled by fear. She is surrounded by love, her father, her step-siblings, her step-mother, Brooks, they all love her, but nobody can help her to overcome her greatest worries, they can only do their best and be there for her and give her strength by being a strong family unit.
Brooks is Maggie's brothers' bandmate, and vows to always be there for her, sharing his love of music with her, whilst she shares with him her of books.
Brittainy Cherry has the ability to really pull me into a story, I felt like I was living it, and even though it hurt, the painful parts were what made the good parts sweeter. I could not put this book down, and I urge anyone who loves to read an epic love story that puts you through the paces, to pick up this truly inspiring book.
"You have a voice, Maggie May. You always have. Now it’s just time for the rest of the world to hear it. "
Straight onto the Top 2016 shelf...I simply loved it <3

The Hating Game is about two people who are complete opposites - one bubbly and quirky heroine, and one grumpy and ornery hero. They work together as personal assistants to the head honchos in a publishing house and ever since the first day their two companies merged together as one, they have been at war.
"You've broken me down so completely, I can't even handle it when a guy tells me I'm beautiful."
I can gush for hours about how this book was so perfect for me, and how much I loved all of the elements listed above, especially the redemption part where we get to see Josh's vulnerabilities, and how Lucy slowly realises she loves the man she also hates, but this book can speak for itself. Please, if you love this kind of trope, then you must give this book a go, you won't regret it.

OMG I LOVED! LOVED. There were so many important messages in this book, I thought it was such a perfect example of how difficult it is, especially in the current social climate, what with Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat being such a huge part of young people's lives, for kids to grow up to be accepting of themselves, and learn that unless you can enjoy your own company and be the person you want to be, you will never truly be happy. Bullies are everywhere and it's so difficult to escape them.
"Narcissists don’t have insecurities, right? Must be nice."
This is the story of two childhood penpals, Misha Lare and Ryen Trevarrow, who live just one town apart. Misha is a musician, and Ryen is his muse. Ryen writes to Misha about her struggles at school, about how she feels like she wants to be the popular girl, the person who gets everything she wants, surrounded by friends, and adored. Misha sends her lyrics, and they collaborate. They are everything to each other and have a connection that they don't have with any other person in the world.
When tragedy strikes, Misha stops writing, and Ryen is lost without his words and encouragement, but little does she know that Misha has found out her secret, and has realised that he doesn't very much like the girl he sees before him, she is nothing like the girl in the letters and he hates it.
Although this story is set in High School, there was nothing PG about this book, you could feel the sparks flying between Misha & Ryen, from the beginning when they were friends, to when they were enemies, to when they were lovers, it was off the charts, and I couldn't get enough. The sparring going on between these two was electric, and they both gave as good as they got.
"You’re a hot little brat," I growl over her lips. "But only for me, you got that?"
Misha was your typical tortured hero who melts hearts with ease, he was a man on a mission, and beneath his tough facade, he was the most loyal and caring friend who would have your back in a heartbeat - he stood up for what he believed in.
Ryen was a difficult girl to love, but in the same breath very easy to empathise with. Her struggles were so real, and behind her bitchy persona, she was just a decent human being who wanted to fit in, and be accepted. I ended up loving her, and together they were perfect.
"Close your eyes, there’s nothing to see out here. I’d loved that line. As if everything we needed to know, we couldn’t see. It was all inside of us."
For fans of Penelope Douglas, I would describe this as a mixture between Bully& Corrupt. It's set in the same world as Corrupt, but with the high school themes that are present in the Falling Away series. For those of you who haven't read Penelope's books before, then I suggest you give them a go, because they are among some of my all-time favourites, and PUNK 57 did not disappoint.

Priceless takes us on Brandt and Sarah's journey, which starts when they are 13 and both suffering from traumatic events caused by their respective families. A friendship begins, and strong unbreakable bonds are formed. From teenage angst through to college graduation, I devoured every page of this epic romance.
Brandt is overly protective of Sarah due to her Cerebral Palsy, but she loves him for the fact that he sees past her disability and treats her like a normal girl. He loves her more than anything in the world, but because of his issues, he chooses to keep their relationship on a platonic level.
I was rooting for these two so much, and it was an angsty wait to get there, but when they finally see each other clearly for the first time, it was ever so sweet.
As usual, Linda Kage delivers a gripping story, with superb character depth and all the feels.
Can't wait for the next!
Priceless can be read as a standalone, but forms part of an ongoing series based on the bartenders working at Forbidden Nightclub. A contemporary New Adult Romance.

What can I say about this book, it was dark, fucked up, sexy, it was all of those things and more but if you like a love story with a whole lot of crazy and twisted, then you need to pick this up and read it. I seriously adored this book, I couldn't put it down for a second and by the end my eyes were bulging out of my head waiting to see what was going to happen next, I was constantly second guessing everything that was happening. My heart was thumping out of my chest!
The Bad Ones follows two people from very different backgrounds from High School to their early twenties, two dark souls who have found each other in their madness.
Popular high school star Quarterback Con Masters has been watching quiet little Dulcie Travers for a long time, biding his time for when he will make his move - he sees the dark and morbid pictures she draws in her notebook, and knows deep in his soul that she is the same as him.
Dulcie is trailer trash, with a junkie mother and a sicko for a brother, all she wants to do is get out of their small minded town of Fuller and leave it all behind. Her life is thrown off course however when the golden boy at school, the son of the town's respected Mayor, one destined for a successful future - the complete opposite of her; steps into her path and sees into her mind and soul in a way that nobody, not even herself, has ever seen.
"What a beautiful darkness we are."
This was the start of a relationship which is explosive, in more ways than one, but they are a perfectly matched pair of psychopaths that I couldn't help but fall in love with, all I wanted was for them to be together in their madness.
I could not fault one moment of this story, I devoured every word and every beautiful depraved page. Days later I am still thinking about it and I know that it will be one of those books that will be etched into my soul, I honestly loved it that much.
It's only ever us, Dulcie. Now, yesterday, tomorrow. Whenever. You get that, right?"
Amongst all the wicked thoughts, there was a beautiful love story and although it wasn't healthy or normal, it was true and I believed in them. In my opinion, this is Stylo's best work so far, and I would love for her to write more dark romance because this book worked so well and I truly hope many others fall in love with it as much as I did.
The Bad Ones is a standalone dark romance, told in alternating in third person POV's. Releasing April 12th, 2016

I hate fantasy crap, I don't like LoTR or Hobbits o★★★★★ 5 Stars ★★★★★

OK, mini review for this one.
I am so glad I read this! Dax Lahn = The Man
I hate fantasy crap, I don't like LoTR or Hobbits or (gasp) GoT! I don't mind a vamp and dabbled in shifters way back when Samantha Towle was writing them, but the thought of this series generally gave me the shivers so I steered well clear for years.
What a fucking idiot I am, because it turns out that this is now one of my favourite KA books ever! Really I should have been more open minded, I mean I love Outlander and that isn't 'real' either.
Basically, Circe is a normal kinda gal from Seattle who wakes up one day in another world which is very much like our world but from hundreds of years ago and maybe with some other oddities like talking tigers and magic. She finds herself as part of a 'wife hunt' whereby King Lahn sets his sights upon her and battles for her to be his queen.
I won't lie, the first part of their pairing is a bit brutal and savage, but it's fiction and rape and pillage doesn't bother me in a story if it's told well and redemption is key here. These men are savages but they are all so sweet deep down. This book is full of Alpha males, I was in heaven.
I loved both Lahn and Circe, they were fabulous and I loved it when they couldn't speak each others languages and had to communicate in other ways, it reminded me a bit of Transcendence by Shay Savage in that respect. Also, the sex scenes are some of, if not the best that Kristen Ashley has ever written. Hot and bothered doesn't describe my feelings adequately, it was like an inferno!
So all in all, I fell for my warrior Dax Lahn and his Golden Queen. Thank you to all of my ho's that recommended it to me. I am forever in your debt.
The Golden Dynasty is a standalone fantasy romance told in the heroine's POV. Also part of a series.
Aly Martinez has created yet again another emotional and absolutely beautiful love story, I am in total awe at the way she was able to turn my heart inside out, back to front and then make it double in size with love for the characters in this series.
May contain spoilers for readers who haven't yet read Fighting Shadows
I have loved Quarry since the very beginning of this series, he has always held my interest and Fighting Solitude gives us his story, from the potty mouthed ten year old to the honourable man he becomes, his unwavering loyalty to his family, and his love for the two very important women that made an impact on his life.
"Everyone knew I was trouble. I had a good heart, but I kept it buried under layers of attitude and a million curse words."
Liv and Quarry have been best friends since they were 10, they have the kind of connection that most people can only dream of, they get each other and will always have each others backs. Growing up they always knew that they had a special bond, but when Q betrays the trust of a teenage Liv, their paths take an unexpected turn and it seems that fate has decided that their future together is not quite ready to begin....yet.
This was an epic journey of love and friendship which faced many hurdles but ultimately there is no doubt that Q and Liv were made for each other, and that the devastating events that occurred when they both lost a loved one -Quarry's first girlfriend and Liv's best friend Mia - was set to test them and bring them even closer than before.
I always worry in books like these, that the heroine will always be competing with the lost love, but this book proves that humans have the capacity to love big and hard, and love multiple times, just in different ways. Mia left a legacy in that she brought two people who were very special to her, together like they were always meant to be.
"Liv James was absolutely everything to me. Well, almost. She wasn’t mine. Yet."
This book brought out a lot of emotions in me, and at times I was sitting there with a huge knot in my chest because my heart absolutely ached for these characters so much, I felt everything that I know the author intended me to feel. I adored how much these two were devoted to each other, and let me tell you that the wait for them to finally realise that their feelings were more than just best friends was so worth it.
Without a doubt this whole series is on my list of all time favourites, it was such an absolute pleasure to read, with the faultless writing and the perfectly exhilarating story, to the deep emotional connection that is so easy to make with the characters, there is nothing that I can find issue with.
Top marks for creating an epic love story that I will always remember and hold dear.
"Every. Single. Day."

I cannot begin to express my love for this book, it has completely consumed my life for the last week, and probably will continue to do so for a long while. I read it over a weekend, and since then I have been thinking about it non-stop and listening to the fantastic playlist on spotify -> http://bit.ly/1pLbA3j
It was just that intense and amazing, these characters are real to me, I actually refuse to admit that they are fictional and the fact that this book took Kele a year to write is evident in the level of detail and the quality of the writing, this is by far her best work yet.
The Enforcer is part one of two, but is a story in itself. This is the story of before, of how brothers Tino, Nova and Romeo came to be in the place that they are now. For those of you who are new to this series, Tino and Nova are mafiosi, and this tells the tale of how they became the notorious men the are today and how they detest being a part of the life.
I'm gonna make them all pay. I'm done being Cosa Nostra's whore."
We experience how the two young boys learnt that they had to do what they had to do in order to survive, with their mother having passed away and their older brother Romeo sent to prison after being set up by the mafia.
Let me tell you, their life was tough...so tough it will break your heart. Essentially this is Tino's story and we are taken back to the day he met his Brianna, the redheaded dancer who was his light in all the darkness.
On the outside, Tino is a happy go lucky party boy, but on the inside he is so very broken, and if it weren't for the love of his two brothers, his sister (cosmic twin) Carina, and Brianna, he would be lost. And let's not forget Zio Carlo ♥
Their love was so special and perfect, but Tino never felt worthy of it and you can feel the absolute pain in his heart that he can never have a normal life and have his happily ever after.
"Their love had been wild, unpredictable, and so unbelievably raw and sensual it would likely never stop haunting her."
This book is not only a romance, it is so much more than that and involves a fabulous cast of characters and I adore each and every one of them.
The Enforcer's Revenge which is coming later this year, is without a doubt my most anticipated read of this year (if ever), and I can't wait to continue on this journey with Tino and Brianna.
This one ends in a good place, I normally like to wait and read books together, but in this case I am so glad I have read it now so that I can process it all and really digest everything that has happened. It's not a book to be rushed, it deserves time and attention, and whilst it technically can be read as a standalone, I can't recommend this whole series enough, if not just for the greatness of the alpha male's and feisty heroine's that Kele creates, but just for the background behind Tino and Nova that all adds to the overall experience.
Just in case you missed it, I LOVED THIS BOOK! Did you get that from my review? Because I did love it, so much it's unreal. It's one of the best books I have ever read in my entire life... Motherfucking amazing! If you love Mafia books, you need to read this. And if you are already a follower of this series, then you will absolutely not be disappointed, I can guarantee.
FYI, Romeo also has a book Star Crossed which is part of a different series but does contain both Tino and Nova. I am re-reading it now and it's great to go back and see them.
Stars seem inadequate, but I am giving out all of the stars to what is my favourite book of 2016.
The Enforcer is a Mafia Romance told from third person POV. Part one of two, but part of an overall fantastic and must read series
