Like Real People Do is a sports romance between Alex, the captain of a hockey team and Eli, a figure skater.
I've never been a fan of sports romance. I always found them lacking something. But this book? It gave me all the feels I wanted and some more, that I didn't think I needed.
The romance is swoony and beautiful. Alex and Eli are a couple who always talks, never let miscommunication disrupt their relationship. That's something which I rarely see in romance books these days. The hockey team was also so much fun. I was smiling the entire time reading this book. I really really loved it. Highly recommended....more

How can I rate a Bergman Brothers book lower that 5 stars? On top of that, it was Oliver's story. "Everything For You" was the slowest burn I've ever read. And you know me...I am such a sucker for slow burn romances. So, here goes 5 stars...
Needless to say, I really loved the romance. Ollie and Gavin had wonderful dynamic. Their banter was to fun to read. I loved the humor as always. Chloe Liese's prose was so good in this book. It was lot more poetic and lyrical than before. I immediately fell in love with her beautiful writing. The author created perfect romantic scenes so effortlessly that I couldn't help but melt down into a puddle of mush. For instance, the "there's only one bed" scene.. it was so hot. All of Oliver and Gavin's sweet interactions melted my heart. I loved how they always communicated, confined in each other despite being anxious about the outcome. All in, "Everything For You" was just a perfect and swoon-worthy mm romance. My new comfort read! I'm going to come back for a re-read soon.
Now, you better go and read this incredible series. It's a threat....more

With You Forever features a sweet and caring hero and a chaotic heroine, a dog, a cat and a wild family that love to meddle into everything ...
Chloe Liese is my favourite romance author. I love her Bergman Brothers series. All of these brothers are absolute cinnamon rolls. And I love sweet, caring and supporting heroes. The tropes which this book uses aren't my favourites. Specially the fake marriage trope. But Chloe Liese can never do anything wrong. Of course I loved this book. We never had the chance to to know much about Alexis until we finally got his story. The oldest Bergman brother always seemed so mysterious and distant. I was so glad to get to know him finally. Axel is just a precious grump. I loved Rene too. The romance was swoony and very well written. Overall it was a wonderful read.
I am very very very excited to read Oliver's story......more

If "Hold Me Under" was a buffet of angst, "Make Me Fall" is a fantabulous voyage about healing...
“I missed you too. The world is a very peaceful place without you in it, and I guess you’ve ruined me for peaceful.” I lean back, find his gaze. “I love you too, you know.”
I've been a fan of Riley Nash since I read "Hold Me Under". That book was amazing. But with this one, the author has managed to carve a permanent place in my heart. "Make Me Fall" was simply everything is love. While reading this book, I felt like it has been written for ME. An achingly beautiful book about love and healing, frienship and family. I can't recommend this book enough.
"I don’t think I’m ever going to kiss someone again. But if I had, maybe it would have been right here, right now, just like this."
"When I see the look on his face, I know it’s going to be okay. We’re going to figure it out. The two halves of a whole don’t have to look anything alike; they just have to fit together into something better than the sum of its parts."
I thought the disability representation was really well done. Jonah lost his left hand at the age of three. But he never let his disability stop him from doing anything. Trust me when I say this, Jonah is one of the most energetic characters I have ever come across to. He's independent, proud, impulsive and chaotic. Just like Gray said, Jonah is a force of nature. A whirlwind. Nothing can stop him. Jonah's insecure though. He has dyslexia which makes him feel unworthy. Everyone around him underestimates Jonah. Finally when Gray sees him, really sees him, Jonah finds a place where he belongs.
"I search desperately for any way to tell him how he makes me feel, any language that doesn't need words. Because I've never been any good with words."
Gray one the other hand, is a calm and quite person. As Jonah said it, Gray feels a lot but he feels quietly. Gray is a uptight, rude, bossy grump on the outside. However underneath it all, lies vulnerability, fear and hurt. He's caring and sweet. He carries the weight of the whole world on his shoulders. But once he finds a person to share his burdens with, we get to see the cute side of him. His sweet endorsement, his little smiles and his big heart had me melted like an ice cream, basking in the warmth of sun.
"What is the path that leads to love? What strange nights and wrong turns and what mysteries? What is the moment you open your eyes and find your heart split into two where it was once whole."
I loved the chemistry between this couple. Gray and Jonah is doubtless one of the best couples I've ever meet. The romance was dynamic, soothing and heart warming. It had me in tears more than once. Some parts of their were heart breaking. But at the end, they got a hea. To be honest, the epilogue was my favourite part of the book.
“When they know you love them, they give you absolutely everything, all of themselves, and that’s where we get our strength.”
Objectively "World After" is a lot better than "Angelfall", but I personally liked it a little less than the first book. Maybe because I read it a dayObjectively "World After" is a lot better than "Angelfall", but I personally liked it a little less than the first book. Maybe because I read it a day before my physics exam. I was stressed and tired. I don't know why I decided to read it at such a moment but apparently I did...And result, I didn't really enjoyed this book.
"World After" picks up the stpry right from where "Angelfall" left off. This book was nothing if not INTENSE. It was engaging and thriller. The main plot gets better by a lot. I enjoyed the sisterhood and romantic sub plots too. The characters are as amazing as ever. I fell in love with Penryn and Raffe at the first sight. They, both as individuals and a couple, are possibly the best I have ever seen in YA fantasy books. Penryn is badass and strong. Raffe is hilarious; his sense of humour never fails to crack me up. "World After" is action packed. The action scenes are incredibly well written and heart pounding. This book falls into the category of Darker YA. It's bloody and gore. It will keep you at the edge of your seat. Overall, a great second instalment for sure.
I really do want to rate it higher. But I rate books based on my personal enjoyment level. So I can't give this book more 3 stars. It's definitely me not the book......more

"Everyone wants to think they see the best in everyone else, but when the bad comes out, they want to pretend that’s all they ever saw."
Consolidating their wild imagination, lyrical writing and flowery prose all together, the author casts a enchanting spell that will lure you into the pages of this book and transport you to a otherworldly place under the waters of Lakelore. Lakelore is where magic happens, this is where your emotions adopts mythical forms....
"Once you get past the fear of being seen, you can get to the part where you know you’re not alone."
"Lakelore" follows two non-binary, trans, neurodivergent, Mexican teens as they discovers a magical world under a lake. Everyone who lives near the lake knows the stories about the world underneath it, an ethereal landscape rumored to be half-air, half-water. Then again, they also believe it all to be just a myth. But Bastián Silvano and Lore Garcia has seen that world, they are the only ones who have been there.
Bastían and Lore were only nine when they met. But they never got to know the other one's name. It was only a chance encounter, only for a few minutes. Yet it somehow changes the course of their lives. Then seven years after, they meet again....The world under the lake drifts above the surface. If Bastián and Lore don’t want it bringing their secrets to the surface with it, they have to stop it, and to do that, they have to work together. Now, can they trust each other with the very things they are trying to hide?
"Whoever said the only things you regret in life are the things you never do probably didn’t have ADHD."
Anna Marie's books are immersive and emotional in a way that they will fill you up with all those feelings that you never knew you could feel. They are vulnerable and astonishingly beautiful works of art. "Lakelore" is no exception to the pattern. It's so achingly exquisite and written with such tenderness that I just want to passage through these pages and take residence under the waters of the said Lake.
Anna-Marie McLemore truly knows how to captivate the hearts of the readers with their lyrical prose with so much symbolism and metaphors combined. When I say metaphor, some of you may feel a bit discouraged to read this book. But trust me their metaphors are never hard to understand. You don't even need to understand them properly, only have to feel and these symbolic words will sweep in your heart within a blink of an eye. I was utterly fascinated and immersed in the way they wrote every sentence like a magical spell to keep to engaged and never bored.
The author creates a magical world with various kinds of mythical-magical beings. But all of these metaphorically represents the emotions and feelings of our two main character.
Through alternating first-person points of view, this magnificent YA novel urges acceptance and love, reminding readers that different isn't always a bad thing. We all are different from each other. And we are beautiful in our own way. This book explores gender transitioning and genderfluidity with brilliant precision. Anna tells us a story of two teenagers whose lives should have been simple but the journey they overtake was anything but easy. Just because somethings seems easy to your eyes doesn't mean it'll be the same for everyone. The author does their best to create aware about so many important matters. And I thought it was a successful attempt.
"LakeLore" is an enthralling and thought provoking book that will lure you into a wondrous magical world and will keep your focus captured until you're done reading the whole book. It's an invitation to believe in the power of friendship and love. Your acceptance and care could change another's life. So, why don't you try to stretch your hands out and catch someone who's falling? At least once in a lifetime?
This is very short book to read. But the author packs so much within it. There are so many amazing representation to speak about. And all of those are well handled and unequivocal. Both Bastián and Lore are dealing with their own struggles in their daily lives. Lore is new in town and struggling with their dyslexia while Bastien is trying their hardest to manage their ADHD syndromes, especially as they are trying to take T shots on their own. While I can’t speak to the representation of the former, the representation of ADHD is really well done. The author themself have both ADHD and dyslexia. So, this book is as "own-voices" as they come. I myself have ADHD. So Bastían's struggles and failure to act as they are expected to be - I found extremely relatable. My heart broke for them. I have first experience of what it takes to come in term with your ADHD; how upsetting it to struggle to do even the simplest of works. Everything new tend to overwhelm Bastìan. And I feel the same. I can't explain how happy it made to find such a accurate representation of ADHD. The book just made me feel seen and understood. This is such a heady feeling to deal with but obviously in a good way.
"Lakelore" is a thought provoking, tears-jerking, soul-crushing, poignant and emotionally impactful book. It will break your heart in thousand pieces and then stitch them together again. Yet scars would remain and with those scars this book will stay with you in years to come. But thinking about this book wouldn't only remind you of those scars but also fill your heart with an astounding sense of hope and love.
My ADHD is made out of paradoxes and contradictions. It’s having weirdly high energy and then getting tapped out fast. It’s making impulsive decisions and then being unable to make them at all. It’s inattention and hyperfocus. It’s being so sensitive I can feel everything around me and being so oblivious I miss things that seem obvious. It’s acting too fast, and being too slow. It’s thinking everything is possible and then wondering if anything is possible for me. My brain is a shifting landscape. It will always have light and shadow and color, but the shapes and shades will change.

I'm soo ready for This Book. And the fact that it features two non-binary teens as main characters aka protagonists!! Fabulous.
No one believed it when I said I’d seen the world under the Lake.
There was no one else here who’d seen the world under the lake, or who even pretended they had.
An adorable cinnamon roll hero, a fierce & grumpy heroine and Shakespeare - just everything I need to spend the Valentine's Day.
It sounds perfect, rigAn adorable cinnamon roll hero, a fierce & grumpy heroine and Shakespeare - just everything I need to spend the Valentine's Day.
It sounds perfect, right? So, why did I want to dive inside the book and break them apart? Why was I, the whole time reading this book, searching for a way to do exactly that? I wasted 4 hours of my life in trying to be the evil villain. The irony- there was literally no villain in the book.
Both of them are my types, but they are also each other's type, and urgh...I was jealous. I think I am. Getting the chance to fall for both of them was my pansexual privilege. But they had to go and choose each other..Urgh.
The romance was so swoony. Funny, cute and sweet. No melodrama or miscommunication. Just a perfect, heart warming read.
☆ "Always Only You" can be read as a standalone. But I personally would suggest you to start with the first book. Ryder and Willa's story is amazing too. The rest is your choice. Happy reading!...more

Going into this book, I didn't know that it's a novella. It definitely was a shorter read than I anticipated. Puddle Jumping still managed to surprise me, in the best way. On surface, it's a sweet and endearing story about first love. But it's much more than that. This story delivered lot more than I expected. It packs an almighty punch which you won't see coming. I usually don't like romance books written in first person narrative and has single pov. Surprisingly I loved it here. Lily is one of the best protagonists I haven't ever come across to. Her voice is so unique, consistent and precise. Amber L. Johnson's has a beautiful writing style. Her prose is gorgeous and hits right in the heart. I really really liked the representation of Asperger's syndrome. The author handles it well. In a word, I loved this book. I can't pin point my favourite part of the book. But definitely can vouch that the hype is well deserved. Highly recommended....more

“I will love her until the sky falls. Until the sun and moon fail to rise. Until Katahdin crumbles. I will love her forever.”
"Unloved" is a poignant and deeply moving story that centers around a man who believes he's better left UnLoved. Cassidy Porter was only eight when his father was arrested for the brutal murder of twelve innocent girls. He died in jail a few years later. But Cass? His life was destroyed. He and his mother moved far away from the touch of civilization and took residence in his grandfather’s remote cabin in Katahdin. Cassidy's “tainted” bloodline has kept him closed off from the outside world for twenty year. He had promised himself, and his mother, not to infect innocent lives with the darkness that swirls within him, waiting to make itself known. It's a promise he would have kept if a beautiful angel named Brynn hadn't stumbled into his life.
Brynn Cadogan and Cassidy Porter come from different worlds but they are in some ways the same, and it’s as if the fates were determined to bring these two lost souls together.
Two years ago, Brynn Cadogan lost someone very close to her in a mass shooting. She has been grieving since then. Brynn is finally ready to move on. She comes to the small town Maine to say goodbye to her past. Instead, here, she meets her future -Cassidy Porter, the man who saved her life, kept her safe. And the man - she loves. But for some unknown reason, Cass refuses to let her love him. Brynn is determined to show him that he deserves to be loved like any other human being.
The premise of this book is unique, the Maine setting is well crafted and the story unfolds organically, with a twist readers won’t see coming. Unloved will provide you a happy ending, so don't worry about that. But the journey to that happy destination won't be easy. Reading this book felt really difficult at times. It's dark, unfiltered and raw. The author doesn't shy away from discussing some very dark and gritty matters. "Unloved" is nothing if not heart breaking. It's emotional and tragic. But still...despite it being very heart breaking, the book has a ubiquitous kind of healing power that would make sure to cure all the wounds it gives first.
The romance in this book is really really good. It's lovely, sweet and (of course) sexy. The main characters, Cassidy and Brynn are endearing and easy to love. Specially Cass is one of the best heroes I have ever come across to. My heart bleed for him. Brynn is an amazing character too. Kate Regnery has an exquisitely fascinating writing style. Her incredible prose brings life to the characters. I loved the epilogue too.
Now, let's move on to the parts I didn't really like. The twist comes out of nowhere. I personally thought we didn't need it. The book could have a different ending, which I think, would have been better. The romance felt slightly rushed. It never seemed forced though. So, I can overlook how quickly they fell in love with each other. The author uses "the star-crossed lovers" trope in this book. It's a very ponderous trope to work with. I thought she did a good job in this regard but it still felt . I didn't really feel any peerless chemistry between them.
Overall I really loved this book. It gave me serious "Archer's Voice" vibes. But it fell a little (very little) flat in comparison. However, I would highly highly recommend this book....more
