It was narrated by Michael Gallagher and Silas Hart . It made the story more vivid. **Before reading, make sure that this book is for you. Check your cw. There is trauma, and some events are hard to read/listen to. This may not be the story for you. I had been waiting for Knox & Aston's story for a while. They were inevitable, and I was invested in how these enemies to lovers' storyline was going to pan out. Knox and Aston were paired up on a school project, and all hell broke loose. They got into it fairly quickly. I don't want to give away too many spoilers( of the storyline) , but it was intimate, wild, passionate, and really heavy for both men. It was also scary and unchartered territory for both men. They were just starting when it all crashed. Their HEA was well deserved. One of my favorite things about this book was the found family. The focus on that aspect and development on characters like Weston; introduction of new character Katie was exactly what Forsaken Desires needed. Knox is one of my favorite characters ever written. He is a character with many layers. I love a character with layers, a complicated one. In the beginning, he doesn't let anyone in. No one knows his trauma. His friends only know what he allows them to know. They know him at surface level and only see the mask he wears in public. Aston has started to chip away at that mask, while Katie gets the real Knox Finnegan. I feel a lot of Knox's feelings about women stem from his trauma. He didn't treat them well.He also doesn't have good experiences with any women growing up, have any decent role model to teach him how to respect/treat women either, until meeting Katie. His friendship with Katie was really significant. He felt safe with her from the beginning and trusted her.Aston unlocked feelings within him he could no longer ignore. Aston later became significant to him in all ways. They became everything to eachother. This is M/M but there is also an M/F/M scene. This is one of my favorite comfort reads, and after hearing the audiobook it will definalty be a favorite audiobook of mine....more

Having the cross-over of Lake from the Devils of Vitality series to this new series was really cool, and I enjoyed that. However, I don't know if I'm a fan of the current storyline YET. But it's only book one, and I'm just feeling the characters out. It is a series, and that's the beauty of one. You get more time to know the characters and then see the story unfold. The Demons are not good men, and neither is the relationship they have with Nix.The Demons all have demons, no pun intended. By the end of this book, it's Nix who will be seen as the villain of this story. Nix was the good guy. He turned himself into a stranger for revenge, out of grief. As the storyline moves on, it becomes clear there are other things going on. Nix and the Demons need to get to the bottom of it. Something happens that will change the game between them forever. I would have really enjoyed more; especially with it being the about the prominent Gold Mask character. There was hidden depth to their romance that I was not expecting, and I enjoyed that. I have been wanting the story of Edouard and his chosen one this whole series. He has been one of my favorite characters in The Wicked Chase Universe. You found out more about the Alpha Fraternarii in each book.The Gold Mask is The Wicked Chase. To have the fourth novella be the story of Edouard and Romain is only fittening. I recommend reading this, but I would take the time to read the three before starting. You will have greater appreciation for the characters, twists, turns, and surprises Marked has. **Check your cw***...more
