Venom is the president of the RBMC’s Ankeny, IA chapter which made up of group of men with supernatural abilities. Venom’s ability being that he can manipulate people’s emotions.
At the beginning of the book, Venom is heading north to check up on his grandmother when he meets her neighbor, Loralei. Despite their age difference, Venom feels a pull for Loralei and is intrigued by her especially when he figures out he can’t use his abilities on her. But Loralei doesn’t seem to be very forthcoming about her past and now it seems that past may be threatening their future - a future indelibly altered by what was meant to be a one night stand, but resulted in 2 pink lines.
A Very Venom Christmas can be read as a standalone, but best read after Voodoo and Angel - both of whom make an appearance in the book. This whole series has been truly smoking hot and Venom is no exception. An age-gap romance with an awesome HEA that Kristine allen has never failed to deliver. Shade finally gets his story in the 8th installation of Sybil Bartel's Alpha Bodyguard Series. Shade, a retired Marine, currently is working as a bodyguard/babysitter for Summer, a spoiled rich girl fresh out of rehab. Summer was introduced as a minor character in 2 of the previous books and Ms. Bartel does great job adding depth to a character that was previously not liked. Shade's demeanor comes across as over the top in the beginning of the story, but as usual, Ms. Bartel does a great job of pulling you in and making him an alpha with whom anyone can fall in love - of course it doesn't hurt that he's smokin' hot.
Awesome, hot story. Cameos by some of your favorite characters. Anything by Ms. Bartel is a no brainer one-click and she certainly didn't disappoint with Shameless!...more
