It was very repetitive, and a lot of the plot was the same scenario over and over, with different characters in different locations with different dialogue. I would have enjoyed it much more if it had been edited down to the most impactful scenes and they were further developed instead of only being a couple of pages, only to be repeated later in the chapter.
I thought the concept was creative overall but the writing suffered as a result of the repetitiveness and it made it difficult to be interested in picking it up. The last quarter was definitely where it picked up and I read through that pretty quickly as it definitely held my interest....more

I approached this similarly to how I approached Twilight when reading it for the first time in 2021 - with very low expectations. And I was pleasantly surprised. The smut was... not good, but it made me laugh. The main heroine was kind of a nitwit but her inner monologue was definitely entertaining and seemed relatively realistic for a 20 something female. I would have given this 4 stars, but I couldn't get past the fact that the space ship that they uncovered from the snow BEAMED AN ENTIRE LANGUAGE INTO HER HEAD. ...more

Very thought provoking in its exploration of ethics and of course entertaining due to dinosaurs. I really disliked the character of Lex… could have done without the incredibly annoying child who didn’t do much other than whine and call attention to herself and the others around her while DINOSAURS ARE TRYING TO ATTACK THEM.

I still don't think that I fully understand the book but I really enjoyed the reread and I will 100% be rereading it again someday. There's so much to unpack with this book and it was a great book club selection.

This spoke to me on so many levels. I definitely want to read more Matt Haig.
