The hero, Tom Cahill, thinking the heroine, Sarah Stevens, (view spoiler)[a murder suspect I could almost get over. However, she was truly devastated in that jail cell, and when I tried to put myself in her shoes...being alone and terrified and still grieving...well, it would have been hard to overcome the emotional abandonment by Cahill. Still, I really enjoyed the story and gobbled it down in one bite, so I'd have to give it props for holding my attention....more

I had to get used to the narrator, Clarinda Ross, but I enjoyed this one much more than I thought I would, considering some of the reviews. I set it aside but was glad I picked it back up. Maybe it could have used a little more romance, but I knew that going in, so I was fine with the level. And I didn't mind all the info on weddings. I was worried Jaclyn was turning in to a bit of a witch herself, like the victim, Carrie, at least towards Eric, but she was hurt and she got over it. ...more
