The sociopolitical background is interesting and the short chapters make for a propulsive read, but it's unfortunately not enough to make me want to tackle a couple hundred more pages of anemically predictable plot beats that make singularly boring what should be exciting and defining moments. Lastly (if I may just nitpick for a moment), this book has some of the most *boring* character names that I've ever encountered in science-fiction. Sean, Brigid, Benny? We have got to imagine better than that....more
