Although A lighthearted and fun romantic story by Katie Reus. I do enjoy the nanny and the grumpy H trope, this was a novella so it was a quick read. Although this was a fun read, it does have a wee bit of danger though nothing too heavy. I like Patience our h, she might a sweetheart but she's no pushover. Trevor, our H has went through several nannies (gee, I wonder why?) and being the Head of Security he can be suspicious by nature. The interaction between both Patience and Trevor was a delight to read and yes, the sexy times are hot ... hot ... hot!
With pretty low on the angst scale, you can easily spend an afternoon away tucked away with this book.

I've been an ardent reader of Ms Katie Reus books and I absolutely loved her Darkness series. I have to say that his novella is just a meh for me, I just find that the premise of the breakup between Daniel and Kathryn could have been resolved much earlier had they just communicate with each other. Still I enjoyed the book, it was still a pleasant read for me.

I'm not a new reader to Ms Grant's works, although I have yet to read this series. I was apprehensive if I was able to just jump into the book without reading the prior books. I was glad that I didn't have any problem at all reading this book at all. It was a tad confusing at first but as I read more of the book, I had no issues settling into the book.
Our heroine Maddie Foster's job is to take inventory of human remains, the job itself is creepy and difficult but what makes it works is the creepy security guard that seems to be always hovering over her shoulder. To get him to back off, Maddie called upon a friend of a friend, Josh Warner to pretend to be her boyfriend. Josh is an operative who just recently moved to Oregon to open a new private security branch and he was also the new guardian to his niece. Maddie and Josh chemistry was hot, however, Josh's main concern is his troubled niece. Then Josh realised that Maddie could be in real danger, hence his protectiveness kicks up a notch. This book was suspenseful, engaging and sexy at the same time. Do pick up this book for a read, you will not be disappointed.

One being the "dead spouse" trope, of course this isn't something new to Ms Edwards as she's written this trope before. However, if done wrong the reader will be left to feel that the FMC comes 2nd to the dead wife, thankfully this is not so in this book. The next is about abuse, as we all know abuse comes in all shapes and forms. In this story, this is verbal abuse from a mother to her children and a wife to her husband. It was horrible, another difficult subject to broach but again, Ms Edwards did it with class. I especially am thankful that Ms Edwards brought forward the matter of wife abusing their husbands (as always, it is the other way round) and it was heartbreaking to read.
The highlight of this book for me is the OG ladies of 707 series (if you haven't read this series, I highly recommend that you do) I adore them and totally love that they took Sawyer under their wing (especially Reagan).

I'm very much invested in this book, it was engaging with great character building. I adore that Nalini Singh is able to write strong female characters with equally strong and yet sensitive male characters. I didn't feel bored or skimp on any pages, it was truly a great reading experience. I will now definitely go back to read the earlier books from this series.

UnfortunateFor the most part I do enjoy Cate C Wells books, I'm a huge fan of rejected mate trope and of course I have high expectation of this book. Unfortunately I feel that it fell short and I'm quite bummed by this. There's hardly any grovel and it doesn't happen till very much later in the book. I'm also not able to relate to Cadoc and Rose, certainly not my top 10 MCs.
I might pick up the next book in this series as I'm still a fan of Cate C Wells. Hopefully the next book will grab my attention. ...more

Sam Crescent books are a hit or miss for me and I'm afraid I'm kind of ambivalent to this story. I love the rejected mate trope in the PNR universe and I wouldn't really say that Unwanted Mate strictly falls into this trope. The H pretty much want the h from the get go, the moment he scent her, he's obsessed with her. So that's kind of a let down for me because I truly prefer where the H out-rightly rejects the h, even with their mating bond. For Unwanted mate, due to the abuse being done to the h (not by the H or his pack), she's very wary about committing. I have to say that Caspian is very patient with Sofia. The story is okay, I didn't hate it nor can I recommend it if you're looking for a Rejected Mate storyline.

Not only are the interactions between Callum and Rora entertaining, it is filled with heartbreaks too. There were times when I just want to sock Callum in the head for being a dodo-head but his past experienced has shaped him into a distrustful person, so I cut him some slack. I have to say though that the animals took spotlights in this book, I might be a cat lover but I must say I am so loving Johnny Cash and his harem ..... such a hoot!

I do admit I had a few false start with this book as I have difficulty in following the storyline. However the moment I got into it, I was in for a ride. This book is entertaining and deep in its lore, as usual SK is a Mistress at World Building. I love a tortured Hero and Valteri is one truly full of angst. The book did fall off a bit in the middle but it picked up speed towards the end. Welcome back SK, I look forward to the next book.

I enjoyed reading this book, however there were times when I just want to wring Sadie's neck. As a longtime reader and a huge fan, I have to say that I almost have no problems with Ms Edwards Heroes. Unfortunately the same cannot be said with her heroines and Sadie is one of them. Sadie's character and personality just irked me, I find her to be too prideful at times. I find that Reese is just too good for her and he's very patient as well.
The storyline is good, not the greatest and I feel like lightning might strike me because I didn't find this series as gripping as her earlier works. Something is missing and for the life of me, I cannot pinpoint exactly what it was.

We're back to small-town Pike, Wisconsin and this time we have second chance romance with a serial killer on the loose. I really do like Zac and Rachel, eventhough they're divorced their relationship was not toxic. Infact, both still harbours feelings for each other and especially Zac who regretted walking away from their marriage. I must say that their romance took a back seat and Ms Ivy concentrated more on the suspense and horror of an unhinged serial killer on the loose. The story is engaging and with very little downtime. I'm liking this series more and more, hopefully we will come back to Pike soon.

Book 4 of the Blue Team series hit all the feels and once again (gosh, I do sound like a broken record) Riley Edwards checked all the points and then Book 4 of the Blue Team series hit all the feels and once again (gosh, I do sound like a broken record) Riley Edwards checked all the points and then some. At this juncture, I do believed that no other author writes instalove as emotionally believable as Ms Edwards. At this juncture I would like to make a petition for us to protect Ms Edwards at all cost because I do need her to spin more tales from this world for many more years to come.
Now the story itself, if you have a hard time getting into it at first I do urge you to plow through. Layla can be difficult to swallow at first. You think her cold and remove but dig deep you will see the depth of her loyalty and battle that raged inside her. She feels more alone than ever but she soldiers on for she is the TL (team leader) and if she has to take the fall for the better of her men (and woman) she will do it. She took the gamble and I'm so glad she did because she met Kevin and he's the only man who can unravel her. At first you can sense Kevin's disdain and his BS meter just went off the roof. Then, the more he got to be in Layla's presence he sensed (and need) her to be honest and tell him the whole truth. He feels their connection and he wants to explore it. One thing that made me love this book so much is both MCs are mature, they're in their 40's so when they're committed ... they're truly committed and they don't play mindgames. So many scenes in this book just catch me in all the feels, my favourite is to see the reunion of Garrett and his former team. So so so sweet.
Also, can I please have this special space to declare my undying love for Zane? We do so miss Zane in action and in this book Ms Edwards gave us a tiny smidgen of Zane who went wild. Seriously though, I may really like all the H in this world that Ms Edwards spun but none is like Zane and his drool dripping make you go ga-ga dimples.
Can you read this book out of order, I would say ... maybe yeah but I don't recommend that. Why short change your reading pleasure, read from Book 1. Heck grab the previous series as they are all kind of inter connecting anyways. Enjoy!...more
As a longtime reader of Rebecca Zanetti's books I've been looking forward to this new series by her. You can Run, a Laurel Snow series is a diversion As a longtime reader of Rebecca Zanetti's books I've been looking forward to this new series by her. You can Run, a Laurel Snow series is a diversion from her usual norm. This book is suspense-thriller heavy and the romance is barely hinted, could even be a really slow burning one.
This book introduced us to Laurel Snow, a child prodigy who is working for the FBI. We're then introduced to other characters whom I guessing will have recurring roles in the Laurel Snow series. This book fascinates me from the moment I read it, the mystery is intriguing and it kept me entertained. Was I disappointed by the lack of romance, well a little bit as I've been spoiled by Ms Zanetti by all her previous romance works. I dearly hope I didn't have to wait long for the next book as I really want to go back to this small town and all it's colourful characters.
