Our story begins in January, after the Bingleys and Darcy have decamped from Meryton, when the Bennets' world implodes.
The first half is comprised of the Bennets' stories being told inter-spaced with Darcy's, though his is somewhat to a lesser degree. There are after all more Bennets than Darcy. While not high in drama, (aside from the very beginning), there is an intensity to the storytelling which kept my heart in my throat and my eyes glued to the page. I could not put it down.
Each surviving sister gets her moment to shine and finds a good match. Elizabeth's story goes a little differently. She is frustrated with life and needs more than London, a match, a home, and family. When presented with an interesting choice, she takes it. Needless to sat she rises to the challenge and is remade into a woman she never could have become, if she'd stayed home.
For all that our dear couple do not meet up again until just over halfway through the book, their individual journeys have primed them for the eventual meet up. Both have grown and matured, and have a better understanding of what's truly important in life.
This allows their romance to blossom effortlessly. With a tad bit of drama added in, before the happy ever after.
The slow unraveling, piece by piece and layer by layer, of our dear couple's journeys made me feel like I was along for the rides. An exquisite read. I LOVED it.
Special props for a stunning cover.

Wickham somehow takes possession of Netherfield. Almost everyone is charmed by him, including Charles Bingley. Yet, is everything really all that it appears?
Darcy is extremely unwell (I was sure he was being poisoned). His lack of strength and well, everything - inhibits his ability to figure out what's really going on, until it is almost too late.
I loved the muddy meet-cute at the beginning setting the stage for our dear couple. Mr. Bennet leaves his bookroom! And takes a somewhat heroic stand.
A mystery wrapped up in a romance, this is a book everyone will find entertaining.
Loved it!
