Some Buried Caesar is one of the top five Nero Wolfe novels, and it’s just as great today as thirty years ago when I first read it. I would recommend Some Buried Caesar is one of the top five Nero Wolfe novels, and it’s just as great today as thirty years ago when I first read it. I would recommend it to someone who has never read Rex Stout, although the setting puts Wolfe and Archie in upstate New York rather than their familiar brownstone.
Michael Pritchard’s narration was good, possibly because there were few female characters; he doesn’t do females very well....more

It’s a mixed bag, as anthologies usually are, but I do think the publisher oversold them as Christie’s “spookiest and most sinister” work. There are just a few worth reading again. Philomel Cottage -very clever The Dream - Poirot is on the case, so how spooky can it be? The Idol House of Astarte - Miss Marple ditto. Wireless - I probably like this one because I figured it out before the end.
The narration by English actress Finella Woolgar is excellent.
If your goal is to read everything Christie wrote, I guess this is a must- have....more
