MC romances tend to be some of my favorite reads. I always enjoy how the brotherhood of the club is their family, but then the FMC comes in and the MMC learns that there may be more out there than just the club.
Jameson Steel is going on my top book boyfriend list for 2024. He went from gruff tough man to being wrapped around little Austin’s little finger and completely wrapped up in Tempe.

I am so mad at my brain for being in a slump the last month and that it caused me to have to wait to read this book.
Character series for me sometimes fall flat. Usually because my favorite side characters don’t get the justice they deserve when it comes to their story. But man, did Ashley surpass my expectations.
Is accidental pregnancy a trope of mine I like? Like most, not particularly, but honestly this time it didn’t bother me and it wasn’t overly focused on the pregnancy per se. It was more on the MCs past, present and future.
So all in all. My favorite. Loved it. Most definitely one of my top reads of 2024....more

I really enjoyed the privateness of The Jackals and what their mission (not mission but I can’t think of the word I want to use) until they are sure Rylee wants to be a part of it.
Colton… whew… and he calls her Tiger which I really like that nickname.

I’m surprised with all the Why Choose I have read, not many have had the poly aspect included. So that’s always a nice change of pace. Ari had great chemistry with each person in their group. The only relationship that I couldn’t connect with was Frankie and Bones, it just seemed forced when they connected....more

At about 30% of the way through, I loved how I could understand the world we are being brought into and how everything works. Have I had to make notes for myself to keep things straight? Yes. But that’s just me and mom brain. Lol
Ellis does a great job at explaining the world/factions and not only once. She touches on them as mini reminders as you make your way through the book without making it noticeable.
I’m excited to see how this story continues in the future ...more

This can be read as a standalone, BUT in my opinion, I would read Love You From Afar first due to meeting Elliot and why he’s so grumpy.
Gahh! After reading LYFA, Elliot did not have me rooting for him. Still wasn’t at the beginning, but surely and slowly he started wiggling his way onto my good side. I’ve gotten to where I love a tough guy who turns into a softy for the girl he sets his eyes on.

DeFore is a new to me author. So when I went to sign up for this ARC with sunnybabepr I did not realize this was the 3rd book in a character interconnected series. You can read them in any order. It does hint at things you probably would learn from the 2 prior books and they’re characters. BUT it did not take away from Russell and Anita’s story and I did not feel lost.
I ATE THIS BOOK UP. Am I going to circle back to Book 1? For. Sure.
I enjoyed both main characters. They both were able to help each other with what was holding them back from moving forward. Man, oh man, Russell. I’d be his lifeline ...more

Pros: - the characters were relatable - the character devlopment is SO GOOD. - Made me feel all the feelings - Fitzwilliam…. Fitz. William. - Friends group that were like family on both sides - Thea trickled in different representations without shoving them down your throat. - Love that Piper had her moments where she stood up for her past and for FiTz
Cons: - At times keeping the characters straight was difficult. But those times were really when they all got together in group settings.
For a debut novel, Thea did a fantastic job. I can’t wait to see her grow and what comes next. ...more

Dean, Hendrix’s teammate, has a secluded cabin that he uses in the off season.
Mia likes Dean and Dean likes Mia, but he does not believe he deserves her or that he can be in a relationship. They agree to be “friends with benefits” and at the end of the season they walk away still friends.
Will they make it out just as friends??
You see more of Dean in All or Nothing and I could not wait for his book. Like so excited and I was not disappointed. Oh holy Dean ...more

You meet Jason in Before I Tell You (go read... also so good) as Natalie's brother. Vanessa and Natalie are best friends. Like known most of their lives best friends.
Jason is just *sigh* swoony... He has been cared for Vanessa for a long time, but due to something that happened in the past (it happens in BITY) he was pushing Vanessa away. Well, one day they decide to be FWB. Jason supports Vanessa in everything she does and is. He helps her feel comfortable in her body, praises her... at ALL times (wink wink), and is there for her when she needs someone.
There is body image issues that are a big part of this book as Vanessa has been talked down by her mother and told her body wasn't what it "should" be. So if that is something that will trigger you I would maybe skip this one. BUT she does work through those things with Jason and comes close to overcoming them. It never fully goes away, but she does a good job!
I definitely felt like I related to her in a lot of different ways throughout this whole book.
SO good Ashley... I can't wait for Paul's story next!...more
