This follows Ian and Evie. Ian is a professional hockey player, and his team is struggling to get along. They are forced to go through art therapy in the hopes they will bond more. Evie is their art teacher. She's also his best friend's sister and grew up friends with her. Evie is a v*rgin and is feeling a bit negative about it because her ex used it against her when he broke up with her. Ian goes through a breakup as well. They start spending more time together and the attraction grows. Evie pushes him into taking her v*rginity and while they spend time building up to it feelings develop. This was a bit heavier than I expected. I'm not sure how to explain it because it's not overly emotional and nothing overly heavy happens but it felt more bogged down with drama than I expected. I enjoyed it but I think I went into it with different expectations which skewed my experience. I definitely want to continue the series!...more
This follows Kaleb and Madison. Kaleb is on the same team as her brother (Brett) and they are best friends and neighbors. H3.75 / 5 Stars 2.5 / 5 Steam
This follows Kaleb and Madison. Kaleb is on the same team as her brother (Brett) and they are best friends and neighbors. He is a v*rgin because he has trouble trusting people. Madison (Maddie) moves in with her brother (Brett) because her ex was cheating on her. She has a young son (Asher) and feels like her life is falling apart. She never went to culinary school, despite cooking being her passion. She has no job, no money, and always seems to pick the wrong men. Both have a rough upbringing and terrible dads. They were all close growing up. Now that she is living next door Kaleb is having trouble denying his attraction to her and she's always had a crush on him. One little plan for him to lose his v*rginity to her turns into so much more.
There was a lot going on in this story, several outside and internal forces keeping our main characters apart. They both self-sabotage from fear and self-worth; no doubt side effects from their childhoods. Maddie has her program/schooling she's signed up for and trying to decide her future for her and her son. And they have Brett, her brother, that has warned everyone to stay away from his sister.
There were a few moments where I felt like Kaleb pushed too hard with her. And there were moments when I was absolutely completely frustrated with Maddie. The pacing also seemed a little off at times, like some parts moved too fast while others were drawn out. But all in all, this was a fun read. It was quick, steamy, and I love the found family that continues to shine through in each book in this series. I enjoyed the aspect of having a male v*rgin and I loved that his first time wasn't amazing, it was written realistically.
I'm enjoying the series. I'm anxious for more of Brett!...more

Brother's best friend and teammate Reformed playboy
Natalie moves back home to be with her brother and father. She meets Brady, her brother's best friend and teammate the night she returns. They are both immediately drawn to one another, but she doesn't know what he wants and he's trying to convince himself he doesn't need her. He's focused on football and doesn't want to mess up with her brother. One terrible night at a party changes that for both of them. I love a hero that seems hardened on the outside but is really just a big softy internally. He is like that with her. I also loved the way he was with his sister and his friends. The group of guys is tight and I'm excited to read about their stories. Natalie was a fun character as well. She was strong and smart. I loved that she stood strong with what she wanted, and she stood up for herself when she needed to. For a first novel this was fantastic and is a great start to the series. ...more
