4.5 stars – I loved this one and I absolutely enjoyed it more than Still Beating. Lotus is a spinoff of SB, about another character who was mentioned 4.5 stars – I loved this one and I absolutely enjoyed it more than Still Beating. Lotus is a spinoff of SB, about another character who was mentioned who got kidnapped, but his character was taken as a child. Oliver was kidnapped and raised by a stranger to believe the world was ending, and he eventually manages to escape decades later as an adult. But the world is completely different for him now – just thinking about how things changed from the early 2000s to the 2020s, it would be like another planet for Oliver. He has a difficult time adjusting, understandably. The one thing he can rely on though, is his childhood best friend, Sydney, who never forgot about him.
I loved the connection between Sydney and Oliver. They have to rebuild their friendship which is slow and painful, but this book and romance had my heart aching. I was feeling terrible for Oliver and what he went through, I was feeling for Sydney and her empathy towards him. They were just SO good together.
The only reason I’m giving this 4.5 instead of 5 stars though... is because I feel like Oliver adjusted to present day as an adult way too easily. Like yes, it probably wouldn't have worked for the romance if the hero had the mind of a child as an adult, but that’s my only gripe with this story. It’s not believable, but I still loved the fiction of it....more

It's another mafia romance, but I felt like it was actually the darkest one in the series. I LOVED the main characters and I loved all the steam between them. I just connected with the characters in a way that I never connected with the rest of the series. Their romance was beautiful, heartbreaking, and such a journey for them both.
The hero has lived a very rough life growing up, dealing with abuse so bad he can’t stand the touch of another person, but he’s climbed his way up in the mafia. The heroine has also experienced loss and trauma, but when they meet, it’s different and special. These two were made for each other and I loved that she did everything she could to seduce him. Even though he struggles with her touching him, that doesn’t mean that he can’t touch her and claim her. He’s very possessive and obsessive, borderline a stalker, but that’s the norm for this author/series.
Things do get very dark here with the heroine going through sexual assault and sexual abuse – not at the hands of the hero, but he does help her recover from it all. He’s ALL about her, still possessive and jealous, but with a softer side after what she went through. I fell so hard for their romance, over how emotional and gut-wrenching things got for them. Of all the characters in this series, these two were the ones who fought for their HEA the hardest. It was so good!...more

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about the Mindf*ck series since I first read it. It’s a dark romance between a serial killer heroine who’s out for revenge and an FBI agent who’s trying to hunt her down... not knowing that the woman he’s falling in love with is the same serial killer he’s tracking. It’s intense, dark, graphic, violent, twisted, and so, so good. I literally could not stop reading it as soon as I got hooked, though I will say book 2 is when I really got invested in the story. The series is an unforgettable, mind-blowing read, and it absolutely lives up to all the hype people have given it....more

I adored them and their romance, which is pure sunshine and so feel-good! I love to see a closed-off man slowly melt for his heroine. Both Indy and Ryan are well-written characters you can’t help but root for. I had so much fun with their roomies/fake dating romance. This is a marriage of convenience romance between a boss and assistant! Dane isn’t exactly an asshole, but he is very much the classic ruthless CEO hero. I LOVED his possessiveness and protectiveness over Vienna. He has to get married to get his trust fund and the only person he wants as his wife is his assistant, Vienna, who knows him like no one else does and can stand up to him like no one else can. He helped her out a couple years ago so now he’s calling in his favor, so she says yes to the MOC.
Dane and Vienna have to pretend to be a real, loving couple to convince the public, but you can just TELL how much these two want each other for real. Also... this book is so freaking hot. I’ve read Suzanne Wright’s PNRs and those are steamy, but those have werewolves and alphas. The Favor is contemporary but somehow still has very similar vibes, with Dane’s intensity and how much he wants Vienna. The way he takes her is fireeee. Vienna also has an ex who’s trying to win her back, so cue all the amazing jealousy on Dane’s side. ...more

It's a why choose hockey romance between a physical therapist who's been newly hired to an NHL team and her 3 heroes. Jake is from a one-night-stand but he’s off limits to her now because he's one of her hockey players. Caleb is Rachel’s new neighbor/the team equipment manager/Jake’s best friend/a former hockey player and he's openly bi. The third and final hero is Mars, who is a Finnish goalie aiming for the Olympics. All of these characters are fantastic and I was instantly hooked onto their story as soon as I started reading. I know there's a prequel novella about Jake and Rachel, but I honestly didn't need to read it to feel that chemistry and to know these characters.
The amazing thing about this book and what I liked most was the way each guy moved at a different pace in their romance with Rachel. Jake and Rachel pretty much fall head over heels for each other right away. It’s instalove between them, but I didn’t mind it too much just because Jake is too lovable with his golden retriever energy. Caleb and Rachel take it a bit slower, mainly because Caleb is a grump, and there’s also a best friends-to-lovers romance that develops between Caleb and Jake. (There's definitely some sword-crossing going on there.) Mars is the one who takes the longest to fully be a part of this group, mostly because he’s the last to join and he isn’t interested in Jake or Caleb, just in Rachel. And yes, Mars is my fav!
There’s never a dull moment in this story. All the smut is crazy hot and fun, and there’s a LOT of it in these 750 pages. I do wish some of it was cut down so Rachel’s character could've shined more, but I at least still really enjoyed this book and I’m definitely going to be reading more from this author!...more

Because there should be, and this book is it. It's got a questionable, morally gray, insanely obsessed, filthy rich hero who will do anything (ANYTHING) to have the heroine. And even though Callum has all the money and power in the world, Emery has no qualms about standing up against him. Their romance is full of banter, it's entertaining, and it's so funny the way Callum wants Emery to fall in line... but she never does. She's your classic JT Geissinger heroine, full of sass and fire.
When Emery is about to lose her family's bookstore (along with a host of other problems), Callum comes in at the right place and the right time offering a marriage of convenience and $20M at her disposal. Callum is the perfect kind of OTT hero – he's unhinged and unashamed about his obsession with Emery. His dirty talk is *chef's kiss*.
Honestly, Callum reminded me a bit of a Jessa Kane hero, which I personally think is the greatest compliment, since I eat JK novellas up. These characters and this romance are hysterical in the best of ways and I loved every bit of this book!...more

Mixed Signals is easily my favorite of the series so far, because Layla and Caleb are ADORABLE. We have a hero who has been pining over the heroine since forever, pining for her from afar, and she has no idea. They're from the same small town and he goes into her little bakery every single week to get some delicious baked goods, and also to see a glimpse of her. How can you not love him???
Caleb doesn’t have the best luck in relationships, and when he finds out that the woman he's crushing on doesn’t either, he comes up with a proposition. The two of them will date for one month with no strings attached so they can figure out where they’ve been going wrong in their dating lives. I guess you could call this a fake dating romance, but it's also not really one, because they do actually date... there just happens to be an expiration date.
Layla and Caleb are SO cute together. I loved them, and I loved how Caleb was basically just trying to make Layla fall in love with him with this proposition. The romance is so sweet, so feel good. Caleb and Layla are two very precious characters who need to be protected at all costs....more

This book was FANTASTIC. I had the best time reading it! It's a first time author collab between LJS and PSH and I thought they did a really great job with it. I adored the characters (especially the heroine) and I loved how fun and entertaining it was. It’s an enemies to lovers, forced marriage romance. It's over the top and ridiculous, and I loved it!
Both Dallas and Romeo come from money. He hates her because she’s engaged to his biggest rival, so what does he do? He ruins her reputation in front of everyone at a fancy party to force her hand in marriage. It kind of reminded me of a historical romance tbh, and I'm not mad about it. So these two are forced to marry and move in together, and there’s all this crazy and hilarious banter between them. It is VERY OTT but it worked for them. Also the romance is surprisingly slow burn? I wasn’t expecting that, but I liked how the romance slowly played out.
Dallas is my GIRL. She's living my dream of being a trophy wife, getting to eat whatever she wants wherever she wants, and spending as much money as she wants. I also appreciated so much how the hero was NOT a manwhore or player. He’s just a grumpy asshole. I loved his two best friends, who I’m really hoping end up getting their own books. Honestly, I'm just all around very impressed with this collab and I hope we get more!...more

Winnie is the divorced, jaded heroine who thinks her sister is marrying the wrong man and tries to matchmake her with their best friend since childhood, Steven. She concocts all these wild and hilarious plans (the tubble scene is GENIUS) that actually make Winnie and Steven closer instead.
What Winnie doesn’t know is that Steven is actually in love with her, not her sister. If you love friends to lovers, a hero who falls first, a hilarious heroine, and sisters who are super tight knit, you need to read this novella!...more
