Alaan and Tameth. I'd like to say this was a dnf, but I actually did waste my time finishing it. Although it was in skim mode for the second half. I hate books that spend too much time in the evil guy's head. There's a lot of that in this one, with plenty of distasteful 'evil guy sex'. ick. I really skimmed those parts. The characters are supposed to be elite kick ass agents but other than the ridiculous leather matrix-style outfits (chafe much?), I doubt they could find their arses with both hands. There is no intrigue. The action has no imagination. The bad guy is predictably evil for the sake of being evil. I honestly can't think of anything I did like about this book. There were so many ridiculous little asides to the story that were imho pointlessly gratuitous (view spoiler).
World building was almost non-existent. Characters were all similar and if not for the different names would have been interchangeable. Tameth is supposed to be this ultra kick ass agent, but you wouldn't know it by her actions and weak thought processes. Alaan was just an idiot. SOoooo disappointing. After pulling his head out of his arse 6 years too late, he couldn't even grovel well.

Jean There are so many books out there but it is really getting hard to find a book with just enough suspense and romance, basically a good plot that makes flippin sense, sigh, oh well.

Jean I just finished the Sentinel Wars by Shannon Butcher, I wasnt too happy with that series either.

Cheesecake I think it must be pretty hard to write good action sequences. Sometimes it's even hard to tell what's going on during 'sex action'. The guy would have to have more than two hands to make it possible and she would have to be able to turn her head around like an owl! Kinda ruins the moment, lol.
I'm listening to the audiobooks by Dannika Dark and the characters are refreshingly fallible with good action. Not too over the top. You can tell the author thinks about ramifications of actions etc.
