I remember before Pestilence's release date, I kept checking Laura's website to see if she's done writing it (I was THAT excited!) It's one of my most anticipated books this year so my expectations were pretty high... I'm so happy to say IT DIDN'T DISAPPOINT!!

It was FANTASTIC! I enjoyed the plot, the enemies-to-lovers romance, and the dark post-apocalyptic world. I loved Sara's voice, it was so fun reading her inner monologues! Her humor helped me get through the 'tough' times in the book. As for Pestilence.. let me tell you, I thought I would never learn to love or appreciate him. He's an evil hero who's so determined to wipe out humankind that I found myself internally screaming "DIE, PESTILENCE! DIE!" throughout the first half of the book. In short, he was an effective horseman of the apocalypse. He'd done really cruel things to Sara (and Sara to him) in the beginning that I devoured the part where they started developing feelings for each other. That's what I always look for in the romance department—the falling-in-love phase. The slowburn. I want to see, and feel it happening. #TeamSlowburn. I felt it in this book.

Also, there were small yet very emotional moments sprinkled throughout the story. It's the quiet kind, the one that doesn't scream "DRAMA!" and you'll be surprised there are actual tears running down your face. I liked it. I think that says a lot how incredible Laura is as an author.

Overall, this book/series is a must-read especially if you're into apocalyptic romance. I bet this series is going to be amazing. I certainly can't wait for War!

Happy Book Birthday!! It's out wohoo!!

I NEED THIS. It sounds similar to Angelfall which is my favorite book! I've read Laura Thalassa's The Fallen World series and loved it! (It's a bit weird at first but the plot was epic and the characters had very palpable chemistry.)

Also, look at that beautiful cover!! Can't wait to read this!!

Zuzana enjoyed it too, and we're all from the Angefall group! I'm looking forward the most to the 4th book (I can't say the title next to the 'looking forward to' haha) He has wings and I bet he's going to be so badass!

Yes! If my guess is right....He did make a very brief appearance in Pestilence. I'm definitely curious to see how each of these books will spin the story and romance together. Not an easy thing to do especially, with the base storyline involved.
