3 stars? Or maybe only 2? I am not decided yet...

This was just good retelling.
I am a person who loves character driven books and unfortunatelly I didn't feel attached to any of the characters here, I didn't care about any of them, not even Grey who everybody seems to love. They didn't stand out.
The story was progressing with okay pace but by the end it felt rushed. I wish that the final battle was described more. It's not satisfying for me when the author let a character faint and wake him/her up after the battle.
What happend in epilogue didn't surprise me at all.

Nope, definitely not. For me anyway I have had a lot of crappy experience with the newer YA fantasy releases. I'm gonna try and stick to the ones that were released in the past. And adult fantasy. YA fantasy these days have been so mediocre.

preoccupiedbybooks My husband is reading foundryside and says that's a good fantasy book. Next ones not out until next year though... Red sister is meant to be good, or most Brandon Sanderson. Other ones I've heard good things about are the last magician, priory of the orange tree tree, jade City, when the sky fell on splendor, poppy War, the bear and the nightingale series, strange the dreamer and the fifth season. Can't think of anymore. Game of thrones Obv. Hope that's helpful! :)
