I am going to start by saying this book can be a trigger for people who have been a victim of sexual assault, as it plays a big part in the story.

Now, for my review. I have been waiting for Finch's story from the very beginning! All the other Terror's opened up about why they were sent to the Turner's School, he never told his tale, and what a heartbreaking story it is. Instead of going into the military, he becomes a vicar, because he feels it suits him better. After an unexpected turn of events he becomes the Duke and therefore has to go to London where he meets Victoria. Victoria is a widow who desperately wants children and a partner in life. As she gets to know Finch, she wants that man to be him, but he is determined to never bring his hurt and pain into her life.

There are many heartbreaking scenes in this story, but there are also many heartwarming moments. I love how Victoria knows what she wants and decides to go after it, and her strength. It is the perfect contrast for Finch's vulnerabilities. I absolutely adored this series. I will be looking forward to other titles by Alexa Aston.

I received this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
